On The Wallaby

The negative points are the wifi which could be improved so that it serves all the rooms, as well as the barbecue planned every 2 days, which is in itself a good idea, but the proposed meat is not of very good quality ! Then the washing machines wash only with cold water, which is surprisingly hygienic (especially for underwear), because no germ is killed in these conditions. Apart from that, the female staff is nice and the place is cosy !

On the Wallaby is a sanctuary! It’s so homey, so green & the staff is your family! On the Wallaby is so clean & welcoming I can’t recommend it enough! They offer many different room accommodations & so much knowledge of what to do in the area! Veronica & Shannon have been fantastic staff! If you want to explore the tablelands visit On the Wallaby!

Loved this hostel, felt like a home away from home. Great outdoor seating area as well as a comfy sofa inside. Free milk was a big plus, really relaxed atmosphere even though there was a big group staying overnight with the ‘Uncle Brian’ tour. Great location for a stop in the Tablelands, would stay again. If looking for a social/ party hostel this isn’t the place, which for us was perfect.

Super Hostel, extrem gut ausgestattet, idyllisch, ruhig, Supermarkt um die Ecke, sehr nette Managerin, nur die große Gruppe junger Leute aus Cairns war etwas nervig am letzten Abend...

Really loved this hostel! So clean and homey and just overall an amazing relaxing atmosphere!

We stayed for only one night and it was the most relaxing staying in the whole vacation. Clean, cozy and with everything you need. Totally recommend it.

Such a lovely little hostel where you have no other hostels around! Nice communal areas, well stocked kitchen, and super easy check in. Good location close to the center of Yungabarra too. I was alone in the 4 bed dorm, but if there were 3 other people I have no idea how everyone and there stuff would fit because the room was so tiny. Overall, if you're visiting the Tablelands this is the best bet for a night or two!

Wir waren mit dem Hostel sehr zufrieden. Wir haben nichts vermisst. Jessie ist amazing - sie hat immer geholfen und tolle Tips gegeben. Die Lage ist traumhaft ruhig und auch zentral gelegen für Ausflugsziele, aber..... wenn man kein Auto oder Fahrrad hat, ist man verloren. Es gibt keine Busverbindung nach Yungaburra und auch Taxi ist extrem teuer. Aber dafür kann das Hostel nicht.

After backpacking 17 countries in the last 5 years this has been one of my fave hostels, so chill, great vibes and lovely family feel.

Excellent hostel! Wonderful atmosphere!

A quiet space to retreat to after a busy day exploring the Tablelands.
