Dont trust the reviews, they are fake!! I had a terrible stay, this is not a backpackers hostel!! There are people living there full time being highly disruptive through the night, the place is dirty, no toilet paper provided, no locks on dorms,I paid for a female dorm and had to leave at 3am because the women were shouting in the room, turning all the lights on, and arguing with me over turning a fan on?! Had to pay full price for a private at 3am, the vibe is weird, didnt feel safe

The property was shabby. The dorms were not clean, neither was the staff cooperative, in fact they were very I'll mannered and rude. Also they had this wierd rule of No Air Conditioning during the day. That is when they do not even have fans for the guests. The common room was a open space which had no fans or AC either. Mumbai is humid place. How are remote workers supposed to work in a place that is so hot. No windows or air ventilation. Lobby is dirty and shabby

The hostel seems to be good in the photos but it is not how he reality is. Literally everyone in the hostel regret being there. There was one guy who left after booking it for some days (not staying till the booked date). The atmosphere, staffs and the people are not welcoming. The owner of the place tried to cheat me with money (INR 500 extra) by showing a fake chart on his screen. You wil find underwears (from hostel staffs) and hanging multi-plugs in the common area. Really a bad experience.

DON‘T BOOK IT! We booked this hostel a week in advance for 3 nights. A few hours (!) before arrival I got the info via my private mail address that our booked room was no longer available 'for unforeseeable' reasons. The booking itself was never cancelled on website, so we did not get the deposit back. This does not seem to be the first time according to older reviews here. I contacted customer service directly, whereupon I kindly received my deposit back. So be careful with the hostel!

Shocking hostel, I’ve been to 50 + and this was the worst!!! Do not book, staff are rude and overcharge. Unclean… shocking bathroom. Lots of building work going on. Avoid.

We were happy to do an early check-in but the guy that did our check in haven’t adress one word in the whole check in. He was very cold and not helpful at all. Also, we are far away from the principals attraction. It tooks us 2h to get there. There is a few restaurant near the hostel and some caves but that’s it. Also the AC close during the night and some times in the day so it get very hot in the room.

Staff just extremely rude in their tone, weren't very accommodating and just didn't seem to care about our concerns. Sheets on dorm bed not very clean as well as the washroom. Only one washroom per dorm room without common washrooms not ideal as well. Only booked because it was close to the airport.

Well we didn't stay here even if we had a 7 days reservation. Once we arrived, we started checking in with the staff member on site. After 20mns, he called the boss. The boss told me that they were not able to give us the room for some issues and that he couldn't tell me earlier cause he didn't have my phone number. (Complet lie since it's on website + I've had sent him a message 10days prior to my arrival). I felt like this was irresponsible and the boss couldn't offer me any other option.

Disappointed. Firstly, I booked a 6 bed dorm and on arrival I was casually informed that all 6 bed dorms are full, you can only get a 8 bed. I was not given any refund, I ended paying the entire amount. Owner mentioned he would refund the difference but did not call back thereafter. There’s no common washroom, which makes it difficult in 8 beds dorms. The lamp on my bed (upper bunk) was in-operational. I have stayed in a couple hostels earlier, this was unpleasant.

Had an amazing stay at BVM. The owner, Raj(i think) is a very calm, easygoing person, and even when an incident arose, he solved it amicably, with so much grace. The people staying there-very accommodating, sharing food, inviting me on a temple run, and took me around Mumbai. We ended up doing some free style karaoke to 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' one evening. Great location, stone's throw from Metro.Very close to airport. Wholesome, would definitely be coming back, and would highly recommend.

location of the property is convenient and accessible to public transport, very easy transfers to airport are available from here, property is nice and cleanly maintained. the host of the property were very helpful. overall loved it

I had a comfortable and professional stay at Backpackers Villa as a solo traveler. The staff were courteous and helpful, rooms were clean and secure, and facilities were well maintained. The location is convenient and safe, making it an excellent value-for-money choice for independent travelers seeking reliability and comfort.

I have to say everything was above and beyond the call of duty. the owner and his sons and staff were exceptionally caring and competent. with real human compassion and hospitality. well worth the very good price. period.

Cool property , very colourful and clean, washrooms were great , had a wonderful time with the other travellers

Lovely Stay, Courteous staff and cleanliness was worth a mention, nice common area, very lively , good use of colours , location right next to the metro station .

Good option near the airport though the city centre is about an hours travel, facilities were good, clean washrooms, strong aircon, they had a standup comedy show whislt me there and was quite a night .

Had the most amazing time here, the community hall was always buzzing with guests, nice clean place, special thanks to deepak for taking care of us, will def dropin again .

Truly loved my stay! I loved the overall vibes, the amazing common area , full of colours and very vibrant …. It’s a great place to chill out at. . And I made friends and acquaintances with the guests and the volunteers too, it’s such a warm social hostel ❤️ I’ll miss them , I booked the 8 bed shared room. If you value privacy, you may need to upgrade rooms.

A mixed experience at this hostel - a shame as I went by previous reviews, which didn't reflect what I saw. One or two of the staff members were helpful & kind, another was rather rude. No locks on dorm doors, & a pair of shoes & towel went missing, only to turn up later!? Great location for airport & metro stop close by, but a long journey into the City Centre & Southern Mumbai.

Incredible hostel, most wonderful staff super friendly and helpful, comfy bed clean loos. Air con in all the rooms and a friendly wonderful vibe. Couldn’t recommend more!

Nice hostel for arriving or departing. Has everything and some other people arriving and departing as well. Has a guitar n Phenomenal staff! Awesome hostel will definitely come back for another stay!

BVM Hostel was my first stop in Mumbai after the airport and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. The staff made me feel super comfortable, especially Raj who helped me when I was dealing with a lost card situation! 😅 Thanks again and I’ll see you next time!

Had a great stay at the villa Hostel, Amazing staff, Raj was very helpful from the early checkin to guiding and providing us with a list to do things in Mumbai, the slum tour was great and very reasonable compared to the ones available online, helped us keeping our bags for the day , let us freshen up and use the washroom even after our checkout, Great hospitality and lovely people managing the hostel , thanks to the reception guy as well was very polite .Highly Recommended !!

the hostel itself is great!! everything was clean, the beds were very nice, a lot of privacy, locker and nice temperature to sleep in. they even had a big common area with activities like board games , great kitchen and excellent wifi . the staff was also really nice. i wouldn’t stay in mumbai again at this time of the year due to the rains , but exploring one day was good and i would recommend the hostel.
