My item was stolen by the staff therefore would not suggest anyone. The lockers are very small even laptop doesn’t fit properly.

Owners of the hostel are scammers, be careful because they will try to get advantage and your money in all ways possible!! Go outside of the hostel to find better people and prices for do your trekkings.

Terrible, never stay here

Honestly, the worst hostel I’ve stayed at as far as quality. Mattress was disgusting and put on top of wooden crates. It was dark and dingy and all the water coming from the taps was yellow. They also have a very shady tour company on site that pressured me to jump into a trek without any gear. They do not care about quality, only about money.

Be aware - BED BUGS !!! Location was good and common areas nice, but the bathrooms were very run down and shabby, and we had bed bugs in our room!! Everyone in our room checked out early and we went to another hostel…

I found bedbugs in my bunk and I asked them to switch my room and wash my clothing. They charged me 1500 NPR for my clothes, and all of my lighter colored clothes came back with brown stains on them. Also, they immediately started moving new people into my original room, so it didn’t seem like they took the bed bug situation seriously. The garden was really nice and the people staying at the hostel were really friendly. Overall had a good time, but disappointed in how they handled the bed bugs...

There are list of things that disappointed me but main thing are dirty pillow covers and small width bed. Please charge more from us but atleast provide a fan and a locker. Sorry! But I don’t get the vibe.

No security locks on the door. My bed was dirty and the sheets weren’t washed. The room just felt very damp. The management is persistent on selling you an overpriced tour

It was really a good place the staff are really amazing They've helped me out with a lot of problems I've had, they're always accommodating and smiling, the space is super nice and the prices are more than good. I recommend this place 100%.

Had to go down stairs, then up an outdoor narrow stair , walk over a rooftop a little then down another narrow spiral stair… which was inconvenient going in and out. No AC but fan worked well as weather was cool anyway. Found an open bottle of water in room You do have access to thamel but the more crowdy alley part. The guy helping at the travel desk was very helpful in giving honest advice. No social aspect as everything is so spread out. It’s ok overall if you get a good price

There is a nice area to hang out and a good restaurant. However, the hostel itself feels a bit outdated. Everything inside is quite old and the beds are squeaky. The 6-bed dorm is extremely small.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Wanderthirst Hostel in Kaldhara, Thamel, Kathmandu. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. They were always helpful, friendly, and ready to assist with anything I needed. The location is perfect — close to the heart of Thamel but still peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. Everything like restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions is within walking distance.

Loved my stay at Wanderthirst Hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hostel was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Nice social atmosphere without being noisy, and the location is super convenient for exploring nearby attractions. Perfect spot for solo travelers and backpackers. Would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Nice hostel clean room staff are helpful and polite. They have huge garden restaurant for hangout. Perfect place for backpacking all places are nearby. They help us to manage our trek from hostel. You meet lot of travelers here will to do treks at nepal. I will also come back to this hostel at the end of my trip to Nepal

The accommodation was good, the staff are helpful and cater to many requests. It's great for trekking, you can easily leave some of your things there and get valuable tips and a guide if needed.The people were also very helpful when we continued our journey.The only thing that was a bit annoying was that there is no self-service kitchen, only a bar/restaurant (but the food there is good and inexpensive, and the people are nice). And that you can't wash your own laundry, you have to hand it in.

Lovely hostel, really enjoyed our time here, staff are so lovely, Only issues were plugs were not always working and some of the showers were cold but overall very worth it, i had a great time!

Great staff. So helpful!

Room was tiny and outdated. No room to put luggage anywhere. Most showers and bathrooms were not in a closed structure and it was 6C outside sometimes. I can't take a shower when it's 6 C. Bathroom and shower not in good condition and in need of upgrades. Staff refused to give me a towel because i was "just in a dorm". Rooftop is gone, its full with beds. can't socialize anywhere. I left after 1 night.

Spending really amazing days here. Perfect place to stay calm and take a rest in the middle of Thamel. A special thanks to the staff, who are always attentive and very accommodating.
