Beehive Hostel

I booked a private room with shared bathroom, but when I arrived they were all full. They had a room with private bathroom available which I thought they would give me since they had double booked, but they wanted me to pay extra which I didn’t do. Instead they offered me an empty dorm, but said that there could be guests arriving later. I tried to explain that then it’s not a private room but it took a lot of effort to make them let me stay in that room alone. Very unprofessional.

Hat mir dort sehr gefallen, es gibt nicht Verbesserungen in Sauberkeit. Zudem waren die Duschen nicht wirklich warm.

Stayed here for two nights after arriving In Kathmandu, the staff were very kind and accommodating, and the location is just outside of Thamel, so it’s quiet and peaceful while still being close to stuff.

Excellent place to stay! Clean facilities, water available, friendly owners and staff, close to everything and a great price. Would 100% recommend.

Good if you want a cheap private room. Great location, quiet and close to tourist bus stop. Not particularly clean and the showers were cold, although that might have been me not working it properly. Main drawback is no comfortable communal areas to read or talk, just a few old uncomfortable chairs to sit on

Really great location right on the edge of Thamel. Very reasonable price for your own room with shared bath. Cheaper than many Dorm rooms in other guesthouses. Will definitely be back after my trek.

Overall a really fun place to stay. I met a lot of like minded travelers from other parts of the world. The staff is fun and always around to help you if you need it. Great deal on the rooms and very convenient location just outside of Thamel where you can find many local restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

Beehive Hostel is a great place if you are looking for something cheap in Kathmandu. Its nothing fancy but you get what you pay for. I like the location and the neighbourhood is more local than staying right inside the tourist district yet only a 5 minute walk to Thamel. Wifi works great and staff is friendly. I would definitely stay again.
