Samesun Montreal Central

Séjour très décevant. Notre réservation a été annulée par erreur dès le début, ce qui nous a obligées à changer de chambre trois fois en 10 jours, avec beaucoup de stress et d’incertitude. La dernière chambre avait une salle de bain insalubre (baignoire sale, fortes remontées d’égouts), sans réelle réaction de la réception. Pour finir, j’ai été couverte de piqûres qui semblent être dues à des punaises de lit. Nous attendons désormais une compensation de l’auberge et d’Hostelworld.

I spent a few days at the hostel on holiday and it was an overall positive experience. No bed bugs sign, which I would consider the most relevant pro. The place is close to the Berry Metro station, and thus well connected around the city. Common areas a bit small, but friendly staff and good breakfast included in the stay. The shared room was good, a bit of a noisy AC but nothing which made sleeping impossible. On the cons side, the cleanliness of the shared bathroom was really poor, black moldy stains in the shower and the room generally ended up smelling of pee at the end of the day. The fridge hosted stuff that had been there when I came and was still there when I left, with all the guests being changed in the meantime tho. I would suggest a deeper cleaning policy for the rooms to make the experience thoroughly enjoyable.

The location is perfect. The train station to many sightseeing locations is right around the corner. Bus stop to/from YUL airport was about a 5 minutes walk. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the BEST I’ve ever seen a hostel offer… I loved the place. So it’s really really sad to me to write that, unfortunately, my stay was not perfect because I woke up in my first morning with bed bug bites on my right hand and arms. That didn’t make any sense to me because the room (and the mattress) looked clean. But then I woke up on my second (and last) morning with more bed bug bites on my face and on my stomach this time, and a couple more on my arms. That was really upsetting.

I have stayed in this hostel when ever I was in Montréal be it for work or vacation. I have not had a problem just untill my stay here recently. I got badly bitten by bed bugs while I was here. It was so bad and caused me to get sick. There were other minor details that is not worth complaining about here.

Le hostel était confortable, cependant, chambre (214) avait des punaises de lit… même avec toutes les précautions que j’ai pris en rentrant je les ai ramené chez moi donc faite attention, j’ai informé le hostel j espère qu’il vont faire quelque chose pour résoudre le problème
