very disappointed, was charged more money than was listed, this place is very run down. everytime i came into room there was new gecko poop on the bed, lots of ants, not social hostel at all, owners were rude to me and my friend

Das Zimmer ist feucht, dunkel und es müffelt nach Benzin und Nässe. Im Bad wuchsen zwei tiefschwarze Flecken Schimmel heran: Tischgröße!!! Alles in allem ist nur die Terrasse schön und nur dort hat man Internet. Der Rest ist : Lonesome... Wie der Name schon sagt. Von reger Hostelathmoslhäre sehr weit entfernt. Sehen tut man nur den Besitzer ab und zu der seine Angestellten antreibt für seine Bauarbeiten. Also jeden Tag Schleifmaschine und Co. Besitzer hatte keine Lust auf seinen Job.

Way too expensive for what it's worth. Hostel was dead...no one was there.

The location is perfect for town and the building is very unique with a verandah to sit on if you wish. There is cold water and hot water with tea/coffee making facilities. I paid $250 for 4nights, compared with other traveller's I met this is quite steep with a fellow traveler paying $26 for 1 night where as I paid $90 for single room with ensuite. The staff are very willing to help with advice on food and tours, I booked my tour through the hostel paying $180 , again travelers found chea...

Pros:very clean, close to the main street. They put me alone in a dorm for my whole stay. AC worked well, quiet. Cons: unhelpful to book any tour, expensive for what you get, no kitchen only microwave,coffee station is instant only. Pool was as empty as the entire hostel, no atmosphere. Forgot I had paid on my check-in. Overall, I do not recommend. Go to Galapagos Dream hotel next door. They have a small kitchen for and a dorm with breakfast is 30$ (cheap for galapagos standards) + a tour agen...

Good A/C and warm shower. This place has the potential to be something special. And it looks like it once was 20 years ago. It’s a funky place that feels and looks abandoned. No real kitchen so don’t expect to cook or even eat here as there were no forks or knives. Only a microwave and small plates. Staff was friendly when they were around which was rare.

Zero atmosphere. Good location but the place has nothing going on. Overpriced for what you get. Plus, no security. Anyone can walk in from the street. No one is around during the night either. Plus, the one who checked me in PROMISED he would get my change ($5.00) and slide it under my door before he left for the day. He never did! Kept the money!

The hostel has a nice design, helpful stuff but unfortunately I had problems with cockroaches one night.

Really nice hostel! More expesive than the others around, but the common spaces are also very nice and it’s easy to walk to any place in the city from there!

Nice accommodation, clean, good location. Liked that Aaron reached out already before arrival with some travel directions and tips :) Wasn't busy when I was there, so not much of a social vibe, but restaurants and bars are closeby.

Absolutely a gem of a place to stay! Victor completely took care of us.Offering great suggestions for restaurants and tours..This place is completely unique and a masterpiece of creativity!

Fantastic rustic hostel that is a lovely break from the norm. Rooms are well equipped and clean. The area is really safe and security was not a concern. It's located a block behind the front and you can get to the main areas with a very pleasant walk along the front. The real differentiator though was Arron, probably the best host I've ever had. His English was excellent and he arranged all my activities, checking all had gone well after each trip. An absolute gem that I would recommend to all.

Heel fijn hostel, goede kamers met goede bedden. Badkamer was ook fijn en heel schoon. Het hele hostel is heel sfeervol ingericht, met leuke gekleurde lampen en ook een pooltafel. Toen ik er was, was het alleen heel rustig (low season) waardoor het wat stiller was in het hostel. Ik kan me voorstellen dat het hier in high season super gezellig en levendig is! Aaron is super behulpzaam en heel aardig. Ik kom zeker terug!

Lonesome George was wonderful! Victor & Aaron were great hosts & hooked us up easily with all the best tours in Galapagos. We had a 3 bed private room with plenty of space and our own bathroom! Easy walk to the main strip of Puerto Ayora.

Great place to stay! Viktor was super helpful, helped us book all our tours and gave great recommendations. We came in low season but would love to come back again in high season. Lovely hostal and very clean.

An incredibly unique hostel just a 5 minute walk from the Main Street. Victor was excellent and incredibly helpful with booking trips. I booked all my trips through him and saw sharks, turtles, manta rays and much more. Has a nice balcony area and they were fine with us bringing friends to play pool with. Would recommend this hostel to solo travellers.

Extremely quiet when I was there but I think it was off season. The staff were really friendly and helpful, not always around but they were just a WhatsApp text away. They gave me a free private room upgrade which was very nice and Victor also gave me a lift into town.

The stay at Lonesome George was great. Conveniently located and cozy! Aaron was so accommodating to all of our needs, readily available with recommendations for our time in Ecuador, and just so cool to talk to! Looking forward to my next visit to Santa Cruz!

Excellent Hostel for a good price. Special thanks to Victor for helping me find the best tours available and the good care! Would stay again next time in Pto Ayora.

I was very excited to see the Lonesome George on Hostel World, it looked like a lot of fun. Maybe I was there during the off season but it was quite dead. I don’t think I ran into a single other traveller. Regardless, the staff were very friendly and helped me to book tours. The rooms were AIR CONDITIONED and because it was so empty I got upgraded free of charge to a private room. It was quite a peaceful experience and it was within walking distance from the main strip. I would stay here again...

Top locatie op loopafstand van de hoofdstraat. Schone ruime kamer met airco. Enige dat jammer was voor mij is dat het meer een hotel is en er niemand in de gezamenlijke ruimtes was. Maar dat heb ik op Galapagos overal zo ervaren. Wel echt een top locatie en zeer vriendelijk en behulpzame eigenarar/personeel

Very nice place, great location, friendly and responsive owners. The owners were very helpful and even upgraded my room from a dorm to a private room for free which was so nice! Room was cleaned daily. The only downside is it’s not a social hostel, very quiet, I didn’t see anyone else while staying there 3 nights. But I would still stay there again! Overall loved it and would recommend!

Viktor und Aaron,die Hostelbesizter geben einem das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Schon vorab gab's eine WhatsApp mit Infos zur Anreise, was super war.Das Hostel selbst ist etwa 300m vom Zentrum entfernt. Das Hostel ist super kreativ eingerichtet und hat viel Charme. Ich habe meine Touren direkt dort buchen können und es wurden mir auch kostenfreie Alternativen angeboten bzw. von Touren abgeraten,was sich eventuell nicht lohnt. Vielen Dank,auch ans Housekeeping! :)

We loved our stay here, so much that we decided to come back another night. The father and son who run this place are incredibly friendly and helpfull and provided us with all the information and help one could think of and more. You could really tell the owner/father has been a guide before he had this hotel/hostel. He build this place with his own hands over the last 30 years and it is super unique and beautiful. The location is really good, close to everything. Would definitely recommend!

A magical experience even just walking into this unique building, all hand built by the owner! Our shared room was perfect! Comfortable, AC, clean, cozy, and full of unique touches. It’s pricier than the other “hostels” but you get what you pay for. We were greeted with fresh juice, a complete rundown of the islands and tours, recommendations, and even got to hangout with his sweetheart dog Cloud. Visit the Galápagos Islands and support the locals! Ecuador needs it!

Nice chill hostel with wonderful facilities! Even better when you learn that the hostel was self-built by the owner! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and accommodated to my trip while also offering me wonderful advice on things to do, where to go and what to eat!
