Horrible experience at Mad Monkey Pai bed bugs, zero support, and unprofessional handling We stayed in the dorm at Mad Monkey Pai and woke up covered in bed bug bites every single person in the room. One of the receptionists admitted it was bed bugs, but then told us not to tell any other guests or even our next hostel. Completely unacceptable and irresponsible. We received no help whatsoever when asking how to deal with the situation. No advice, no assistance, nothing. We had to figure out everything on our own where to wash our clothes, how to disinfect our stuff while dealing with a full infestation. The laundry alone (which we urgently had to do) cost us more than the stay itself, and when we asked for compensation, they refused. The staff said they couldn’t help and passed us the number of a “manager” who doesn’t respond to messages or answer calls. We also found out from someone working there that the dorm had recently been closed due to bed bugs and had just reopened—clearly, the issue wasn’t resolved. The way Mad Monkey Pai handled this is highly unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Avoid this hostel if you care about cleanliness, transparency, and basic responsibility.

No help, no advice, and no compensation—even though our laundry cost more than the stay. The dorm had just reopened after a previous bed bug issue. No response from the manager. Completely unprofessional handling. Avoid this hostel.

Don’t stay here! Quietest hostel we’ve stayed in so far, we were the only two people in an 8 bed dorm. Both the beds we stayed in had bedbugs and infected all of our stuff. Dead atmosphere and was really grimy.

The worst hostel I have stayed in during my whole trip. My bed was INFESTED WITH BED BUGS which bit me and made their way into my bag and clothes, causing great headache and paranoia for the next few days as i tried to deep clean all my things and had to throw many clothes away. When I explained this to reception they shrugged it off and said it was common at the hostel because of the area. They did nothing to refund me and my bed was already prepared for the next guest without any further action. On top of all of this, the location was far outside of town and everything generally felt dirty, which explains the bed bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE

Not like the photos, no pool, very very run down. It’s in need of some renovations and there was bed bugs when I had stayed here. Left immediately staff was unfriendly and not surprised or even cared about the bed bugs

They had bed bugs in the dorm room. I booked two nights, left after the first night as another traveler was bitten many times. Also there was no party life probably due to it being the off season.

We stayed at mad monkeys pai for two nights, yes, it was fun but the bedbugs we’re not. We woke up the first night with them everywhere. When we said something they were extremely apologetic and cleaned everything we had, which was very nice. moved our rooms but unfortunately, when we woke up the next day, there were signs of more bedbugs. We left to another hostel, and when we opened up our bags, there they were. we had to get everything cleaned again. Super unfortunate.

I liked the rooms and the vibe of the hotel but I had bedbugs in my bed ans that ruined my stay.

Nice huts. Bed sheets hadn’t been changed though from previous person as things left in the bed and also had bed bugs. Air con was on 16 which was way too cold for the temperature in pai at the time. Hostel was quite social though and overall was fine other than the bed
