   Good location for an affordable price. Staff at check-in were super friendly and helpful. The separate building is very dated and needs some TLC. Several of the bathrooms are covered in black mould and some shower heads are broken. Some signage for the separate building would be great too. Disappointed that the staff at check out couldn’t even say bye or ask how my stay was, in a run-down hostel like this you rely on staff for good reviews and this left a bad last impression

   I do not recommend this hostel to anyone. My confirmed reservation was canceled without warning on the very day I arrived. To make matters worse, when I was standing at their reception, they asked me to make a second payment for the stay they had just canceled! The most frustrating part is that I had emailed a week before to confirm my payment was approved, and they replied that everything was confirmed. They canceled it anyway. This forced me to find a new place to stay at the last minute. The complete lack of organization and respect for guests is astounding. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere reliable.

   The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean. They offer a lot of resources to explore the area. I enjoyed the free breakfast (~8-11 hr). The pancakes are amazing - I was addicted to them. They offer nightly dinners for a few euro; I never participated but I’m sure it was a fun time. I loved the open hangout space and modern feel. The vibe was quite laid back which I enjoyed because I was not looking to party hard. If you are, GSpot Hostel is known to be pretty wild. Additionally, I liked the security measures as you had to ring the door bell after 23 hour and there’s double entry into the hostel, then your room. I don’t give it 5 stars because I felt that it was a bit far from the main touristy spots. Which for some, might be a plus, but for me, it was a minus because although you are right next to a major metro station, it added 30+ minutes to my commute, and I was impatient / lazy and spent more money on taxis and ride shares than I wanted. When I travel, I prefer to be right in the heart of everything, so I can walk within 5 minutes. I also don’t give it 5 stars because the eggs during free breakfast run out early; and I felt that often the breakfast would be cleaned up before the allotted time was over. Note: towels are a 2 euro charge, and you need to bring your own lock for the in-dorm lockers. Overall, I would stay again and I would suggest it to others.
