   Worst hostel experience of my life – avoid at all costs! I honestly don’t even know where to start. This place is an absolute nightmare. We woke up in the middle of the night covered in Insects – yes, Insects – and had to pack up everything and run out at 1 AM to find another hotel. Nobody helped us, nobody cared, and the staff basically disappeared when we tried to get assistance. Also we needed to pay every single night for nothing. The next morning, after zero sleep and a ton of stress, we came back just hoping to use the kitchen for five minutes to boil some water and calm down. The “management” told us the only way to use a bowl for FIVE MINUTES was to pay for another full night! I’m not kidding. That was their solution after their disgusting beds literally ate us alive. This place should be shut down. Rude staff, filthy rooms, no help whatsoever, and apparently they think charging desperate travelers full price for a bowl is totally fine. If you value your sanity, your skin, and your money – stay far, far away from this dump.

   I had a nice stay mostly because the staff (volunteers) are just so kind and helpfull! However I do think that certain facilities were just not in the best state. The lockers are so rusty you can barely close or open them. Also there wasnt enough lockerspace for everybody in the hostel, so I needed to keep my things in my room. The hostel is accesible for everybody so one day somebody broke in and stole some backpacks in another dorm by breaking the window. The shower only had cold water.

   The hostel has a nice location: close to the sea and easy access to town. Unfortunately my bag was stolen even though it was in a locker and the cameras were broken. The staff was nice and tried to help. The chill area was good and they organised my shuttle to Bocas del Toro.

   Durante mi estancia en el Hotel Oasis del 3 al 5 de noviembre, en la noche del 4 de noviembre fue abierto el locker donde estaban mis pertenencias, robado mi pasaporte (con valor de 130 dólares) y dinero en efectivo (60,000.00 colónes y 15 dólares) con un perjuicio total de 262 dólares. En su momento el personal del Hostel me apoyó llamando a la policía para hacer mi reporte. Solicité al personal que me diera información de lo grabado por las cámara de seguridad y hasta el momento no me han dado respuesta y por parte del dueño, él siempre estuvo ausente. Por lo que uno podría llegar a pensar que tal vez fue alguien del personal y lo están encubriendo o las cámaras que tienen son solo de adorno, ya que se encuentran en buenos ángulos para haber grabado al ladrón.

   Terrible. First of all, a very dirty hostel - found animal f**ces in my bed, and bugs all over the room. ABSOLUTELY NO SECURITY. Lock box doors were hanging off, and all doors left wide open in the middle of the night, leading to my belongings being stolen from under my bed whilst I was sleeping! The hostel owner is also nowhere to be seen, even after the theft. Only volunteers - as nice as they were, they could not help me during this situation. Felt unsafe both nights of my stay in the dorm.

   If you value anything you own don’t stay here! My bag was stolen from the dorm whilst I was asleep, CCTV shows a man walking straight through the hostel - all doors wide open no security. Lock boxes were as secure as a plastic bag, some with no doors and some hanging off. Owner showed no sympathy or concern over the severity of the situation. However, volunteers were as helpful as they could be. Dorms were unhygienic with mouse droppings on the beds along with cat fur everywhere.
