El Pital Chocolate Paradise

We stayed here for 2 nights and would not recommend it to anyone. The rooms were dirty and had bugs in the bed and a cockroach in the bathroom and sink. We reported this to staff and requested a cleaning — they came, barely did anything, and the issues remained. What made it worse was that management didn't seem surprised at all, which tells you this isn't a one-time oversight. There was no WiFi in the rooms for the entire two-night stay. This was advertised as an available amenity, which makes it false advertising, plain and simple. The restaurant is not really a restaurant — it's a café with drink menu and very limited food options. Good for snacking. We reported every issue during our stay. Nothing was fixed. No apology, no urgency, no accountability. Save your money and your sanity and stay somewhere else.

I would highly recommend the El Pital restaurant and hang out space! The food was tasty, unique and reasonably priced. They had multiple hangout zones. Perfect for a slow morning, or romantic dessert spot in the evening. They also made it very easy to rent ATVs ($65 USD/24hrs.) I would not recommend staying in the glass house. The mosquito net was not long enough to tuck into the bed, we had lots of gnats and bugs in the bed. The public bathrooms of el Pital were much nicer than our private room. There was no hot water or water pressure in our private bathroom.

The food is good but on the pricey side. The rooms feel like you’re camping. Looks like a shack and the beds were covered in bed bugs and termites. No wifi in the room. Don’t recommend staying here for more than 2 nights

Warning - bed bugs (chinches) Stayed here one night and my friend got bed bugs. We told them and they did not care - they did not even go take the sheets out of the room or tell anyone else. We had to fight with them to get alcohol spray, help other guests move rooms and to make sure that this does not spread. Absolutely terrible response to a serious problem!
