No atmosphere, small bathroom for 12 people and the door to it didn’t even shut. Also tell people who book in pairs to share a double bed which took us by surprise. Good location though and breakfast included was alright
Absolutely negative experience. I truly don’t understand how this place has good reviews. The room was far too small for 6 people — no space to unpack or even access lockers between beds. Broken lights, a balcony door that wouldn’t close letting cold air in, and a bathroom that constantly flooded. The heavy blanket clearly wasn’t changed between guests. Worst hostel I’ve booked on Hostelworld. Huge disappointment.
Cramped muggy rooms
Stayed there for 4 nights, worst decision. We were staying in 8 person dorms room 102, no air circulation whatsoever, there was condensation on the window and door at the end of the night. Mold everywhere, the beddings was dirty, old mosquitoes squished on the walls. Our last night the water stopped working so I couldn’t rince/finish my shower. If you can afford to go somewhere else, do it.
I was initially drawn to this hostel by the low price and free breakfast. However, the value didn't hold up. Arriving late, I was given a top-floor bed in a building with no lift—a huge issue with lots of luggage and no assistance. The dorm was severely cramped, lacking space for bags, and had a poor atmosphere. I checked out first thing in the morning. While the breakfast was decent, the dorms are average at best.
Wir waren von unserem Besuch sehr enttäuscht! Bereits in der ersten Nacht fanden wir in einem unserer Betten eine Bettwanze, deshalb mussten sich zwei Personen ein Einzelbett teilen. Als wir am nächsten Morgen, die Rezeption auf den Befall hingewiesen haben, wurden wir lediglich ausgelacht. Es wurde sich weder um unser potentiell befallenes Gepäck, noch um unsere Schlafsituation gekümmert. Wir mussten direkt ausziehen, da uns ein neues Zimmer verweigert wurde. Keine Rückerstattung.
We were very disappointed with our visit! already on the first night we found a bed in one of our beds, so two people had to share a single bed. when we the next morning, having pointed out the reception to the fall, we were just laughed at. there was no concern for our potential fallen luggage, nor our sleeping situation. we had to leave directly, as we were denied a new room. no refund.
Real sithole, beds like coffins, tiny rooms, the only common space to hang out was too small and closed at 10pm, only 1 bathroom for a 12 people room. Also careful, they can con you, I had just landed in Asia and didn't know much about prices and they charged me a shot shitload for a car from the airport. Run, run gar away
The best thing about the hostel is the Ha Giang Loop Tour offered by Cloudy Hostel. Good location and free breakfast. I don't know where all the good reviews come from. The rooms are very small and smelled musty. The ceiling height was very low in places so I couldn't even sit up in bed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not really helpful. You have to pay extra for a towel
Hostel totalmente sobrevalorado. Muy sucio ! Habitaciones sucias , baños sucios , espacios comunes sucios. No tiene mantenimiento. Todo muy viejo . Realmente lo único bueno que tiene este hostel es la ubicación . El resto deja bastante que desear . No volvería a elegir y no lo recomiendo para nada
Totally overpriced hostel. very dirty ! dirty rooms, dirty bathrooms, dirty common areas. no maintenance. everything very old . really the only good thing about this hostel is the location . the rest leaves a lot to be desired . i would not choose again and i would not recommend it for anything
The property itself is extremely run down. The staff aren't very approachable. The room had no electricity in the morning & the bed was damp. I don't know how this hostel has so many stars, I would never stay there again

Lovely hostel with amazing location, you are right next to st Joseph’s cathedral, and minutes walks away from main attractions. The breakfast included is such a good value for money, where you can have a range of fruits, toast, egg and hot tea and coffee! I loved my stay here thank you!
It's a good hostel in a great location. They can book any tour for you. I went in and out of Hanoi for the tours so I stayed in 2 different dorms here. The shower in one of the dorms had zero spots to hang anything except maybe the doorknob. The free breakfast was quite nice though. And the staff was also very friendly. I did see some of the cleaning staff taking a nap break in one of the bunk beds which I found a little odd considering their dirty clothes. But overall quite a nice place.
Had a great stay at drift! Stayed twice as I booked the loop with them. First dorms (16 people) was a little underwhelming as one toilet for all but the second dorm I got (6 people) was perfect, super clean and comfy. Quiet hostel itself but I booked everything (Ha Giang Loop, Transportation etc) through the night reception Duy. He’s the best and went above and beyond for me, even checked in on me while I was in ha giang. Perfect spot to rewind and book your tours with! Shoutout to Duy 🐐
