Vibrant Hostel

Disappointed and angry I've stayed here a few days ago, I found out there's a lot of bed bugs beneath their mattress and also on their bed frame. I thought it was only mosquito bites but to my surprise, I found many bed bugs in their bed frame and as a result I had bad rashes on my back and thigh the next day. I went to pharmacy to get an allergic pills and ointment because of this. It seems like their bed and curtain haven't washed for many years and the weird smell from their carpet is way too strong. The staffs or cleaning team should be aware of this but seems like they're lack of management skills making this hostel deteriorate. Some of the toilet and shower room also had broken door or hardly locked due to lacked maintenance. As for the check in process, I had to wait longer outside while waiting for this guy, a receptionist to open the door because he's away from the counter and supposedly he should standby because it was the check in time, instead of apologized he just merely spoken any words and go with registration. Unprofessional and bad service! What a terrible experience! Lastly, I can only say that luckily this hostel got a nice spot because it's near to Imago Mall and restaurants surrounding it other than that,there's plenty of option out there for a nicer, cleaner and comfy hostel.

The pleasures of a well-designed budget hostel far surpasses the luxury of a five-star hotel. What do I mean? Shared bathrooms. Ugh, right? I don't think so. I loved showering here. As I step into the shower store, I noticed the clever design for me to hang my clothes while the shower curtain prevents my clothes from getting wet. I help myself to giant bottle of communal shampoo (pomelo). The hot water works, of course. I felt so relaxed while showering unlike the occasions when I had to wrestle with fancy fixtures in posh bathrooms. Shared living room. No privacy, right? Nope. I like how quiet this place is. The people who stay here are also very considerate of each other. Most are women (while I was here). They provide hot water, Jacob biscuits and free aik cheong coffee. Free breakfast. Yay! (And I took a packet of Julie's peanut butter sandwich biscuits with me, to go). Hostel rooms. Low grade and bed bug infested, right? Absolutely not! My private room with the queen size bed was sparkling clean. The pillow was comfy and the sheets were soft. The mattress was firm enough. When I switched off the lights (oh, they have reading lights!), it was pitch black. I slept so well. Hidden and hard to find. That's true. Although I am a repeat customer, I still wander around looking for the obscure sign and staircase leading up to the first floor check-in. If you order grab, wait somewhere else more prominent. Ask the receptionist for tips. Vibrant hostel is hard to find but it is easy to find anything else: food, shopping, restaurants. Everything is just a walk away. Speaking of the receptionist, they are always professional and friendly and well informed. Check in is fast and efficient. Check out is the best. You just leave the key inside the room. Lock the door. Leave. No hassling around with deposits or waiting for the receptionist to check whether you have stolen the bathrobes or eaten expensive peanuts. Bonus: I like the motivational signs on the walls. "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." I am definitely stepping into vibrant hostel again.

Overall the hostel was really nice and the staff was helpful but unfortunately we found plenty of bed bugs in our dorm. The staff has been informed of course

leider hatten wir Bettwanzen im Zimmer und wurden über die zweite Nacht komplett zerbissen, haben das an die Mitarbeiter weitergeleitet und hoffen dass das Zimmer dementsprechend gereinigt wird. ist natürlich jetzt sehr Ärgerlich für uns aber wenn das nicht gewesen wäre, wäre alles top gewesen. viele Zimmer haben kein Fenster, wäre gut wenn es bei der Beschreibung erwähnt wird.
