   super hostel pour rencontrer des gens ! pleins d'événements, des tours, location de vélos, il y a tout ce qu'il faut. le personnel d'accueil est peu accueillant à part le proprio très sympa et souriant ! question sécurité : le personnel masculin est un peu voyeuriste...

   The location is great and the rooms are quite big and have lots of windows. The place was clean and the showers were nice. Lots of activities going on and a bustling place There is not enough fans in the fan room and a few of them went missing over my stay. The room was seriously hot and everyone in the room should be able to get some fan at least. I was lucky and on a bottom bunk but I don’t get hostels that charge the same price for top and bottom bunks but only the bottom one has any privacy curtains - should all be equal.

   Stayed here with group of friends in 4 and 6 bedrooms with en-suites. The location is brilliant. Lovely helpful staff too. Our shower was broken at first but they fixed it promptly. Air conditioning is turned on at 6pm every evening and off at 10am. Our rooms were also cleaned everyday which is great as the rooms get very sandy. Slight problem we had is it seemed everyone staying knew the code for our doors as they don’t seem to be changed ever which was jarring as we booked to be private room. A stranger let herself into our room unannounced twice. We joined Family Dinner for bbq chicken for only 15 BZD and it was delicious. The snorkelling trip was also highly enjoyed for 50USD. I recommend to stay here for a great time in Caye Caulker.

   • housekeeping ended up taking one of my locks i left on a shelf when they came to clean and i had to go to the front desk on two separate occasions to get it back as the took it (and told me the first time that they didn’t take it).

   i stayed here for a few nights in a dorm room (with 5 other girls, 1 shared bathroom). our bathroom was spacious enough but the shower would quickly overwhelm the bathroom and room, making it super hot so i typically ended up using the community showers (as i noticed most others did too). they have 3 cold showers and 2 hot/cold showers. 3 toilets as well. there is AC in the room but it does not turn on until 6PM (which is not listed anywhere and we’re made aware of at check in), and then gets turned off in the morning (9A-10A). each bunk had two outlets which was nice (no shelf, no little night light). 3/6 beds had privacy curtains, 3/6 did not have privacy curtains. i didn’t do any of the hostel/community events so i cant attest to the price or if its worth it or not. the staff were okay. some were really friendly, others were not so friendly. housekeeping ended up taking one of my locks i left on a shelf when they came to clean and i had to go to the front desk on two separate occasions to get it back as the took it (and told me the first time that they didn’t take it). the wifi absolutely sucked and would barely work anywhere in the hostel. which is fine during the day but at night when we’re in bed, i’d like to be able to be on my phone or be able to call my family in the evenings. the community kitchen was nice to have! we only used it to store our leftovers in the fridge and then reheat them in the microwave. they had a filtered waters system to fill up our water bottles which came in handy. we did see a cockroach in the kitchen area (as well as in our room once), but being in the outdoors, not sure that it’s the hostel’s fault. they advertise a spa/massage area at Bella’s. we messaged the lady through Whatsup. she was horrible at communicating and after us reaching out multiple times, she never confirmed we had an appointment (so we went elsewhere, of course). she then messaged us at the time we originally requested saying they were waiting for us and asked where we were. very unprofessional and would not recommend (would recommend instead Izchel Day Spa - next to The Split). lots of hammocks and places to sit which was nice! also had luggage storage which came in handy after we checked out but wanted to walk around town without our bags. has some delicious food places right next door. they have a laundry service which we used ($10 (small), $20 (medium), $35 (large) - i believe for size of loads) in BZD. all in all, if i had the choice, i probably wouldn’t stay here again, but would as a last resort.

   It's definitely the place to be for parties. Big events every night where also outsiders can join. Kitchen is okay, you can do some basic cooking. Dorms have codes but you can easily find them out at the reception. A few days before my stay, someone entered a dorm and stole a bunch of stuff. So please be careful! The hostel is good if you want to party and socialize, otherwise maybe find a more quiet place.

   • one of those local men directly to our door, which we felt was completely inappropriate and a serious breach of safety.
   • Around 11:00 PM, the same man somehow gained access to the gate code and came back to knock on our door again, this time by himself asking us to come out — and again around 11:30 PM with four more men. There was no security on site, and it was extremely concerning that he was able to enter the property when we never gave him the code.

   The Bella’s Backpackers experience was definitely fun — the beach party and boat party were a great time. However, the major downfall was the lack of safety at the hostel. After returning from the boat party, some local guys were having drinks with my friends and me at the bar. Later that night, after we went back to our room, one of the bartenders/staff members brought one of those local men directly to our door, which we felt was completely inappropriate and a serious breach of safety. Around 11:00 PM, the same man somehow gained access to the gate code and came back to knock on our door again, this time by himself asking us to come out — and again around 11:30 PM with four more men. There was no security on site, and it was extremely concerning that he was able to enter the property when we never gave him the code. I notified Bella’s through WhatsApp, and although the message was read, no one responded. When I followed up at the front desk the next morning, the staff member said she had seen the message but chose not to reply. She was dismissive and asked, “Well, why did they come to the room?” — showing no concern that her coworker had exposed guests’ location and safety. Overall, while the social activities were fun, I would not recommend staying in the hostels. The lack of security and unprofessional handling of a safety incident made us feel completely unsafe. Safety is clearly not a priority here.

   The rooms and bathrooms are very basic for the price you are paying! It was very sociable however but not down to the hostel itself - the staff seem quite disinterested. I had a bad experience where I woke up twice in the night to find one of the men staying in my room sitting on my bed. I told the staff the next day and all they said was ‘oh he was quite drunk last night’. I didn’t feel very safe here as a girl. Overall though I had a good time and there aren’t many options in Caye Caulker!

   • i had many drunk men approach me while eating inside the hostel, some sitting with me and not leaving, including one of the staff who pestered me the whole evening and was slurring his words, etc. as a solo woman it made me feel uncomfortable, especially because he worked with the hostel/had access to the door locked areas.

   it’s a nice enough hostel. definitely a party vibe. i ended up leaving early for a hotel as a treat. front desk staff are nice and the cleaning women are very kind. i only give 3 stars because of sunday funday, which basically turns the whole hostel (common areas, kitchens, shared bathrooms, etc.) into a giant party, for many people across the island (not just those staying at bella’s) i chose not to participate because of the cost, and expected it to be separate as it’s in the attached courtyard. but as the night winded down i had many drunk men approach me while eating inside the hostel, some sitting with me and not leaving, including one of the staff who pestered me the whole evening and was slurring his words, etc. as a solo woman it made me feel uncomfortable, especially because he worked with the hostel/had access to the door locked areas. also, they charged me cad $75 after i left and i’m unsure why (in the process of figuring it out) besides that, the rooms and kitchen were clean, if a little barren (no bowls!) but overall not the worst hostel! ac worked well in the dorm and great location.

    I slept there and it was great (Except that someone stole my Columbia shirt that I hung there to dry, but that's not their fault). However, I did a shark diving trip through them for 50 USD that was supposed to include pictures, and they haven't replied to me yet when I asked for the pictures.

    Terrible stay overall. We booked a 6 bed dorm for 6 of us which should have been private but found that the door connecting us to another dorm was unlocked and kept being opened even when we were changing by the people in the other dorm so they could “share the AC” that we had paid extra for and they hadn’t. We asked 5 times for this door to be locked and it was never done. We came back twice to all the doors in our room being opened despite being locked by us. When we tried to lock the door ourselves as the hostel staff hadn’t done it we came back to the lock broken as the people beside us had forced it open. The room was not properly clean and there were stains on the sheets. We also had one window with no curtain that anybody could look into as we were on the ground floor with hammocks outside. When we arrived there was a group of men on the hammocks outside and when we forgot the code to the door they all told us what it was as everyone seemed to know the door code. The beds were creaky and very unstable and there was a bad smell in the room. Caye Caulker itself is absolutely beautiful but I would recommend staying somewhere else.

    Loved my stay here, Handy if you're doing Sunday Funday so you can go in the hostel. Used the free kayaks for sunset and to see the crocodile, The wifi could be better though, and our roommate kept having to replace the free water.. the staff should do this.. Also on last night they had s*x in bunk below me and there was no security to be found.. One time lock on door didnt work so had to go around.

We cancelled everything but they charged us anyways. Don’t go there. The Party on Sunday’s is overpriced and there are just locals that are trying to make you drunk. As a female please avoid this place.

    Well located and comfortable, many toilets and showers. The receptionists were very helpful, even telling me where to find cheaper food in such an expensive island They tried hard to overcharge me, initially refusing to give any explanation for that – the volunteer at the reception just stated firmly that the hostel “has a policy” of charging an extra fee on top of Booking.com’s final price. As I was also firmly demanding an explanation she finally said the overcharge is for payment with credit card – but I had just told her I was going to pay in cash! Also, in one of the dormitories the lockers are fake and completely unsafe, it’s just to move the whole piece and all of them are open from behind (see the pic)

    SCAM ALERT - paid cash on book in to the lady behind reception. All looked fine but then they tried to charge us again on check out. Claimed nothing had be paid. The CCTV camera was turned away deliberately. This is an organised scam. AVOID. Update; Thank you for replying. I have changed the review to give credit for that. I am not sure I agree with the reply in full as you did try to charge the card after we left. The accusation was that we had not paid at all, regardless of currency. The CCTV pointing to the ceiling suggests the staff members know what they are doing. It's a serious concern.

    Great location and staff is amazingly kind! But the place feels like a frat house. Dirty, no locks on dorms. I booked a private room and it was inside of a dorm which I didn’t like, kind of defeated the purpose of a private room in the first place. Even with a pretty decent price I wouldn’t say it’s worth it to stay here.

    Very basic dorms! We stayed in the dorm next to the kitchen, with ment that anyone could walk into our dorm. No lock off code to the room, and anyone could access the kitchen, even non guest. Great location! The staff was not very helpful. Ask for very basic things, like a lighter to the stove. But they just told us to look for it around the hostel. Private dorms are not really private. You hade to access it through another dorm.

    got drugged at sunday funday while on the boat. told a staff member who was helpful but when he told the managers/higher up staff they said i was probably just too drunk and that happens to people all of the time. however i drank a normal amount, was hallucinating and passed out and even stopped breathing until i turned blue which doesn’t happen from alcohol so just be aware if you go thefe

    Didn’t get ANY sleep here. Bed 3B is a nightmare. You’re next to the extra door to the outside and fans don’t reach top bunk. The bed shakes way too much and wakes you in the middle of the night. I had issues with my reservation, which I made staff aware of at check-in yet they claim I never informed them, so I was charged an extra night. Bathrooms are disgusting, full trash cans, wet floors. They need someone whose only job is reception and more cleaning staff. The location was good ig..

    booked a private room which was in a dorm?? with no lock and no key for the door . absolutely got ripped off don’t get a private if you stay here. air con had no remote as someone ‘stole it’. didn’t have any bed linen had to go ask. paid £50 for sunday funday and they couldn’t even give us a bit of food. water also stopped working, couldn’t shower, flush toilet or brush teeth, don’t recommend.

    Has such potential, could be a nice hostel Staff were absolutely awful, didn’t care at all about guests, slept with guests, one of them punched a guest during Sunday fun day! Never any water, bad kitchen, mosquitoes everywhere including in rooms, no organised activities, was here over Xmas day and no effort was made to organise anything for guests over Christmas, probably the worst hostel I’ve stayed in on my trip

    Was very disappointed with my stay at this hostel. I was expecting a private beach, it is a back yard with little dock that stores the boats for Good Vibes Tours, you cannot go swimming here they have alligators in the mangroves. This was a deciding factor in choosing this hostel, I would have went with another one knowing this. The back yard is also a public Bar and is not isolated from the hostel, so people can access the hostel from the bar by going up the stairs to the kitchen, and some of the dorms are not locked and the one I was in B dorm was a shortcut to the bathroom so people constantly walking through the dorm. They currently have only 3 bathrooms for most of the dorms and private room so as soon as you lock the door someone is knocking or trying the door. 2 of the bathrooms didn't even have hand soap and I told them but still 2 days later no soap, thus it felt that they were not really cleaning the high traffic bathrooms and showers. The whole time I was there no hot water either, it didn't matter what time you had a shower either. They also ran out of drinking water, so make sure you water bottles are always full. Be prepared when staying on Sunday, they host Sunday Fun Day, so in my dorm I had a lot of people throwing up all night in the dorm or waking naked to the bathroom leaving all doors open so you can hear them. One door wouldn't close properly so it kept banging or making a lot of noise with people trying to open it or closing it. I really wish they did have a woman's only dorm also. The staff were friendly, but I never saw any security or staff present after 9pm until early morning. They are renovating and adding more toilets and showers and private rooms. I wouldn't stay here again.

    Disappointing, there were bed bugs in my bed. The staff did spray my bed but I was still bitten the next night. My friend was in a top bunk with no rails which felt unsafe. We were in the “deluxe” dorm but the beds were shaky and the mattress was very worn so I could feel the slats underneath. The communal water wasn’t filled overnight so the people in our dorm stole our water bottles from our beds. Not enough toilets. The full hostel has your room code so other people were entering our room
