Why Not Hotel

Good location and very kind receptionists. The shared dorm has no lockees where to store your belongings and anyone can steal your stuff, both guests or not guests (i.e. cleaning ladies.. yes, it happened to one of the guys in my room).

The male staff was ok late at night, and it’s in a good area of Antigua. However, the room wasn’t that clean! In fact, I’m fairly certain there were bedbugs. Also, the female staff in the morning were highly unhelpful and extremely unfriendly! I would not recommend anyone to stay here!

We stayed in a private dorm here with two bunk beds, room was so so mouldy and not clean - we asked to change room but they said no. It was £40 so would’ve been better of getting a hotel. Don’t stay in this private room!

Did not like this hostel. Although it was in a good location, the staff weren’t great, nor were they friendly and also to mention they stole my AirPods! My friend left them for me to collect at reception, initially management was helpful and told me they were watching CCTV and once this was done they just completely ignored my messages and left me on read. The rooms have no ventilation, there is mould everywhere and it stinks. Only good thing about this hostel was the rooftop view of the volca...

This place was terrible from the start. The staff greeting us was rude and did not care about our concerns at all.. the room was moldy which I have photos of.. when I expressed this to the reception she made excuses that it most be recent but did not offer us a different room or some form of incentive. The photos are clear that this mold was not new. It was in the bathrooms so much it smelt moldy. The roof of the room also. Terrible experience for the cost I could not believe it.

WHY NOT GET SCAMMED! DO NOT STAY HERE! Or make sure you see the room before paying. They made us pay immediately on arrival - it was the price I was expecting but I had booked 2 single rooms for 2 guests. We were then showed 1 single room and told this was it! We had to share 1 single bed with two people for 70USD for 1 night! When I brought this to their attention showing our booking confirmation which mentioned 2 rooms they refused to refund us or help in any way. Awful experience.

Absolutely disgusting. The place is covered in back mold. Paint is chipped and are random dents in the wall so dont think you'll get nice pictures. Owner is a pig who does care. This place is gross idk why it say my rating is 2 stars its 0. Dont stay here. Reviews about mold are very true. DISGUSTING

Be careful of the staff as they can try to rip you off

They have horrible customer service and practically refuse to help you/ ignore you when you reach out any way online, via call text or email. Then after you’ve canceled multiple times they’ll ignore your cancelation and still charge you-even when you cancel a week in advance. Worst customer service alive experienced from a hostel-EVER

Mostly average hostel, not accommodate for backpackers and on top of that they charge you extra fees for « Damaging the towels ». I do not recommend this hostel, they are greedy.

Loved staying here! Booked a private room and they upgraded me to a room with a bigger bed! Location is really nice, close to the park and coffee spots. Personal was really nice and I was able to do a late check in (01.00h). Showed me everything, I speak a little bit of Spanish and they spoke enough English so we could understand each other!

The staff was pretty friendly to me. I arrived not feeling well due to lactose intolerance and the receptionist was very helpful and allowed me to enter the room before check in time. But, there were BEDBUGS on my bed and I was bitten all over… the mattress had a hole and it was very difficult to sleep on it. The room is ok but it’s not possible to be in it if you don’t turn the humidifier on…. I wouldn’t stay here again, which is a shame because the location is good and the hotel look...

Feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Clean and friendly and helpful stuff. Not that easy to get in touch with other travelers. All in all would recommend if you don’t care that much about socialising.

You get what you pay for. The main issue for me was the excessive noise—not just from other travellers, but also from staff moving furniture very early in the morning and late at night. Great location, tho.

Honnêtement nous n'avons pas compris pourquoi le rating était si bas. Les chambres et les salles de bains sont propres et l'endroit est très bien situé au centre d'Antigua. C'est vrai qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup "d'ambiance" mais j'y ai quand même rencontré d'autres voyageur solo avec qui j'ai ensuite passé plusieurs jours.

alles sehr gut, besonders die Lage, keine Küche und kaum/keine Sitzgelegenheiten außer Dachterrasse(kein Schatten)

Good private room with bathroom. A little expensive for what you get - basic but comfortable. Great security for storing luggage though. Good location!

Kinda mid but you get what you pay for so no complaints - could use a bit more of cleaning up to the bathrooms and loos lol they were sort of dirty

I will definitely come back here to stay next time I’m in this country. The single rooms are reasonable priced and everything that I needed.

Not known for liveliness but this is a good thing if you like calm and quiet. great location one block away from the center square of Antigua, great rates, nice rooftop and view.

Quite expensive and not much atmosphere. The bedroom was hot and uncomfortable.

The black mold, lack of windows and ventilation, and cramped feel made us check out after night one.

Lockers are big, guests are given wristbands, and the front door is locked at night, so I mostly felt safe. Great location and very friendly staff. Not too social, but the rooftop area is amazing.

Super Lage, mitten in der Stadt! Das Personal war sehr freundlich - wir durften nach dem Vulkan Hike noch dort duschen, obwohl wir keine Gäste mehr waren (für ca.3 Euro Aufpreis) Die Betten waren gemütlich, von der Dachterasse hatte man einen super Blick! Das Café, was vorne im Hostel mit drin ist macht super Kaffee, der auch relativ günstig ist.

Great spot for the price. It's right in the center of town. I had the room all to myself. Clean and quite spot. The price was amazing
