St Christopher's Inn Barcelona

I started itching and have red spots on me. I compared them to bed bug bites and they look exactly like that. Be aware that they might have bed bugs there.

Property had bed bugs and instead of disinfecting the entire room they just focused on the one bed :(. Definitely not effective. Also the showers have automatic timers that are incredibly short, but you have to turn it on every 5 seconds.

found bed bugs in my bed and told reception, who told housekeeping to check. housekeeping came and simply changed the bedsheets but didn’t check anything. The reception was quite unwilling to help and simply told us housekeeping said there was nothing. Air-conditioning is only turned on around 1am. One night it was not turned on at all and the room became quite musty. Male housekeeper came into the toilet when my female friend and i were showering without checking. Wouldn’t recommend.

the worst hostel ever... bedbugs... no AC did not tell us we had to complain they just assumed we would not say anything... women at front desk rude with an attitude... unhelpful... bathrooms no ventilation water everywhere smell terrible ... didn't event spend one night.... had to send emails many time to get any money back... they didn't have our card information so they didn't reimburse us... literarily this place is disgusting and made my Barcelona experience terrible... don't stay here... I know lots of people with bad experiences here... don't stay here

I got bed bugs from this hostel. Was staying in a private room as well. Definitely avoid

I got bitten and had at least 8 bites on my body. Though the hostel was large and the people are nice (especially Gigi, in house tour guide) and I enjoy the meal at the bar. I seriously think they could do more to protect hostel guest from bites. Not sure if it is bed bugs or the flies that flew in... but I stay in room 303 and hope they can do something about it.

I got bedbugs from this place a few weeks ago. I found dead ones and budbug larvae and took pictures and everything. Got bittern 20 plus times, and I’m still itchy even now. The worst thing is that the hostel staff was aware of this before I brought it to their attention… they bagged up my bunk mate’s personal belongings and spread anti-insect powder all around our bed without notifying either of us there was an infestation. I wasn’t allowed to switch rooms for fear I would spread it to other rooms, so my options were to sleep in bed-bug infested bed or be kicked out onto the street. I left but I’m pretty sure they resold my bed to someone else that night. Extremely shady establishment.

Got bit 50+ times by bed bugs. Told me it could not possibly be bed bugs and made me feel like I was crazy. Blamed it on me for being dirty and having shoes on my bed (brand new never worn shoes on top of my suitcase on said bed). SO rude about it. Verified with my doctor that they were bed bugs, had to get rid of a ton of stuff, pay for cleaning supplies, etc. Had to pay a premium to move location. Working on getting a refund but they seem to not be too open to it. Got an email today from them verifying they DO have bed bugs. Awful experience, I have stayed in 30+ hostels (this was my first hostel on this trip) and never had such a bad experience. I have stayed in St. Christophers before and recommended them but never will again.

The continental breakfast is definitely not worth the money, but I liked this hostel otherwise. Very clean, nice privacy curtains, no sign of bedbugs. They also offered a lot of activities that would be good to meet other travelers if you're interested in that. Good location too.

My bed had bed bugs and I was told I would get a refund but did not. The location was great. However, the bathrooms were dirty and obviously the bed bugs. Will never stay here again.

Got bed bugs from the hostel. Also one elevator was out and the other took forever.

Wurde wegen Bettwanzen in einen anderen Bett aus dem Zimmer aus dem Hostel geworfen. Erstatten auch nur die Nacht, die ich jetzt nicht dort schlafe und helfen auch nicht bei der Suche nach einem neuen Hostel. Haben mich erst abends darüber informiert, dass ich in keinem Zimmer aus dem Hostel bleiben darf.

Bed bug infestation and an even more horrible protocol for handling it. Took me almost two weeks to get a refund. Honestly, the experience with this at the hostel made our trip much less enjoyable.
