Tiki Hostel Ometepe

Anyone who gave this place higher than a 6 is reading a ransom note. This place is a loud dusty construction site with non stop construction / angle grinding happening right in the middle of the hostel This hostel has rooms next to the main road so loud dusty trucks future heighten your experience Facilities are very poor. VERY POOR This isn’t a first choice hostel, or a 2nd, or 3rd I survived and you will too but double check any other hostel in santa cruz first

dirty, many insects in the room and dead ones falling from the ceiling into your bed. The private room was so small you could not stand up straight. The air was super damp and even the ventilation did not help. The staff was very unfriendly and it felt like they were annoyed by the guests.

Not sure why this place is so well rated. Quite dirty and bugs all over the place. Fronts onto a noisy road that keeps you up at night. The bathroom was the worst we have seen of our trip. Dirty, limited lighting, and extremely small. The room we got looked almost as though it was still under construction. There is no comfortable common place to relax as the only seating is on a dirt flop with poor seating as well as it’s windy and noisy from the road. I would not recommend this place.

Ich verstehe nicht wieso dieses Hostel so gute Bewertungen hat. Es ist eine einzige Baustelle, niemand ist im Hostel und die Atmosphäre ist alles andere als gut und sozial. Sowohl die Bäder als auch die Zimmer und vor allem die Betten waren sehr dreckig und eklig. Ich glaube das war das schlimmste Hostel, in dem wir während unserer Reise durch Mittelamerika waren.

probably the worst stay on the island, a hot, bug infested prison cell of a room. excellent location and sea views, owner was a pretty cool guy and refunded the remaining days. don't stay here unless your strapped for cash.

The property was located right next to a swamp and the lake this caused there to be millions of small flies. These got into your mouth and nose during the night, it was impossible to sleep and the room was boiling hot. Please don’t stay here. I have been ill the last few days from the amount of flies that must have got into my nose. Even during the day clothes hanging up to dry was covered in clothes, the shower was full of them, the floor crunched from having so many flies on it, the walls.

When checking in, the owner took 2h to find a bed for my friend. We had angle grinders working at 7am. The owner sold us the worst tour we've ever taken, with an incompetent guide, and poor organisation. Imagine a guide that ends up at the ends up behind everyone and shouts out "is this the right way guys?", when no one would ha...

Ostello molto molto spartano. Abbastanza sporco e rumoroso, è stato parecchio difficile dormire… Ottima colazione e posizione!

das essen war sehr lecker mit fairem preis. leider sehr sehr viele insekten und bettwanzen in unserem zimmer😵‍💫 es wird hier ausschließlich spanisch gesprochen

Preis und Leistung passen hier! Im Preis ist ein Frühstück enthalten und die einheimische Familie ist super nett! Die Lage zwischen den beiden Vulkanen ist auch toll :)

Nicely located & they rent out scooters to get around. A lot of bugs but expected but the mosquito net I got had holes in it. At times the dorm and bathrooms weren’t as clean as I’d like but the staff always sorted it out. The family who run it are so kind and helpful! The food is amazing but I did find a hair in my dinner one night but I got my food for free. The baby is SUPER cute. I enjoyed my stay and it was good for the price and a nice chance to support locally owned hostels.

Hostel très bien situé en face d’une plage. Les propriétaires y vivent. L’employée est très sympathique. Les déjeuners sont bons. Il n’y a pas de lockers où nous pouvons barrer nos effets, ce que je n’ai pas apprécié. Plus ou moins d’ambiance et peu d’espace pour chiller ensemble. J’y retournerais pour la localisation.

This is a really cute family run hostel - the family are really nice and accommodating. The dorms are clean - the hostel itself is pretty sandy as it’s right on the beach but the team are constantly cleaning. Great location to do lots of stuff in Ometepe and a good scooter rental right next door. No air con in the dorms but there was a cute baby!

Super Hostel, sehr zentral. Viele Aktivitäten wie free Pasta Night, free Pizza Night. Coole Atmosphäre, das Hostel bietet auch Trips an die man buchen kann. Pool auch super

I had a really good time at Tiki hostel. It is owned by a local family who is really hospitable and helpful and just made sure everyone was having the best time. The breakfast was really good and facilities are very clean. If you like kite surfing or running at the beach in the morning, this is the place to be because it’s directly located next to the beach. I would always recommend to stay here.

Good beachside property, reminds me of some hostels I’ve been to in Colombia. Location is great, central to everything in Balgue but without being in the crowded part. Every hostel in Ometepe has bugs, complaints about that feel silly. Staff is SO kind (a little shy - helps to speak spanish). Pancakes were SO GOOD. Major downside is the construction work so early — I know it gets hot to work in the sun in the day, but waking up to construction sounds before we’d even had breakfast was ja...

I stayed in the upper Basic 5 Bed Dorm, the staff were friendly and helpful. However the facilities were dirty, only half of the beds had mosquito nets, there are no lockers to lock up any personal belongings, and there were only a few outlets in the center of the room therefore if you were in the bunk bed you had no close by power outlet available. The dorm is also close to the road and it was very loud at night with the wind and traffic noise.

The hostel is well located and is a cheaper option than most of the others in the area. However, the atmosphere there was a bit unwelcoming, and in our private room there was no door or partition between the bedroom and bathroom!

Mir hat‘s in dem süßen Tiki Hostel gut gefallen. Die Lage direkt am See ist ganz schön. Man kann sich dort auch Scooter leihen, was sehr praktisch ist. Ich fand‘s auch sehr sauber. Habe mich wohl gefühlt!

Tiki is a tucked away treasure, not in the main town which I kinda enjoyed. Closer to the waterfall, kayak adventure & local spots which really made my time on Ometepe special. The owner helped with everything; tours, scooter rentals (best price) and taxis when I arrived later than expected. Great value for money and the place was clean !! I hope to be back one day and would def stay at Tiki again ❤️

Cool place with beach vibes that's great value for money! Tiki hostel has good food, amazing volunteers and is right next to the lake which gives it a nice breezy cool. I loved the hike the volunteers organized to go to the viewpoint on Maderas volcano and sleep there. You need a little bit of a tolerance for mess, but I think it's like that everywhere on Ometepe. Enjoy!

Fantastic experience at Tiki Hostel, between the laid back atmosphere, the proximity to the beach, the nice food and the amazing camping activities organized by Manon and Alex, I absolutely don’t regret booking there and can only wish to return!
