Disgusting and dirty. ZERO help from underpaid staff. Avoid chennai if you cannot find a fun helpful place to adventure from chennai to goa. When you travel to Canada, do you want your hostel full of canadian work from home people? Travel appears to be destroyed planetwide by people who ARE NOT FUN.

Had a bad stay here. Rooms were cramped with beds and people, cleanliness was below average. Location is terrible. Vibe was really off. Have travelled a lot and as a 6,2 man rarely feel unsafe, but here the intense focus on theft and danger pushed by the hostel staff was instantly uncomfortable They told me to leave my shoes outside. Overnight, one was stolen, likely by a stray dog and when I asked for some form of compensation, was screamed at for 5 minutes over the phone, by the owner.

I had high hopes for my stay but it was a complete disappointment. While the facilities were basic, nothing else was up to standard. The owner couldn’t care less about guest experience and was rude, unhelpful. Save your money and avoid this place — it’s clear he doesn’t care about providing a decent experience. En realidad no entiendo por que este hostel tiene buenas reseñas. La ubicacion es lejos y hasta dificil de encontrar. El hostel en si es chico y esta sucio. No lo recomiendo.

Last day i was out for some work and they started room maintenance. Without my permission and without prior information they moved my belongings and luggage. I raised this complaint directly to the owner who was there on property. He shouted on me that you should not raise complaint in front of other guests. Although I raised complaint at reception. I don't believe this is right behaviour from a team who is expert in hospilality. Also i think if i am raising any complaint they must not shout.

I did not find anyone at the reception and hence did not even check in. I lived elsewhere then.

Places was stinking, cats around, not good vibes, stuffy beds, suffocating. Mosque opposite side where loudspeakers go on 5 times.

Some of the workers were really nice. But this definitely is so overpriced and the worst hostel we’ve stayed at in India. Came back to a man sleeping on my bed and had touched my dirty clothes (including undies) and moved onto a dirty bed, hostel night staff just did nothing and didn’t care. found bed bugs. food was phenomenal and the man who checked us in was really lovely

The vibe in the hostel is very nice. The room is quite simple but clean. The location is good for airport because it is only 20 minutes by car but the city centre is not super near (about 30 minutes).

Rien à redire, c’est sympa comme endroit et on rencontre du monde.

Great time at hostel ghandi

Hostel Gandhi is THE spot if landing in Chennai as a first time or anytime traveler. They were always as supportive and availiable as can be, answering all my questions, cleaning the place and bathrooms everyday, fast wifi and the breakfast lunch and dinners were perfect for my new to India stomach. Highly recomend, you can land here and feel like you can get a few days rest, eat good, have tea, acclimate, ask others at Hostel for needs and insight. Ich habe ursprünglich zwei Nächte im Hostel Gandhi gebucht und schnell gemerkt, dass ich länger bleiben möchte. Am Ende waren es fünf Nächte – und ich habe mich hier rundum wohlgefühlt. Das Hostel ist ein herzerwärmender Ort mit entspannter, ehrlicher Atmosphäre. Empfang, Küche und Reinigung sind super organisiert, es gibt sichere Locker und richtig gutes Essen.Ein besonderes Highlight sind die Menschen hier. Bobby ist Tourguide, und ich kann ihn nur empfehlen!

Gemütliches Hoste! einige Reisende bleiben dort länger wodurch es sich sehr vertraut anfühlt. Vor allem die Gemeinschaftbereiche sind super und die Gegend ist total interessant zu erkunden. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich

Very much enjoyed my stay. Friendly vibe from both guests and staff. Located quite close to the airport and in a place which shelters it from a lot of the traffic noises. Parts of the facilities might be a tad bit run down but they are kept clean. Close to good resturants but they also have their own chef who cooks good food for a decent price. Although the location isn't very noisy I would still advice people to bring some earplugs as the fans or the people can get a bit loud from time to time.

The metro connectivity is excellent — just 10 minutes from the airport and about 15 minutes to most major attractions. The 24/7 reception team was super helpful and friendly. They even organize city tours, which made exploring really convenient. Spacious, filled with greenery and inviting common areas to relax or meet other travelers. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, and the food was great. Overall, a lovely and memorable stay — highly recommend!

Nice place to stay to go to the airport next day. It's really easy to get there with the metro. If it's to visit Chennai it's a bit far from tourist attractions. Easy to meet people and play in the saloon !

This hostel exceeded my expectations! The staffs were incredibly welcoming and always ready to help with anything I needed. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and well maintained. The common areas were inviting and had a great vibe, making it easy to meet other travellers. Everything about my stay was perfect. There are adorable cats around which made the place feel more like home. Highly recommended!
