Not going back

This was honestly a let down- not woth paying 26-34€ a night. My room was ice cold all times of the day and it was dusty. The bathroom constantly smelled horrible and the shower (yea 1 shower for a lot of people) was dirty and bad. The area is not one you should walk in late at night alone and female. However the staff was nice and friendly and helped me with late check in as well. If you are used to hostels and want a little treat with a cheap single room for yourself this is NOT it.

Everything was very unclear. Communication was not good. The least I can say is that the check-in was odd. Entrance of the building was hard to find Room was dirty, spider webs everywhere. Never again.

The bathrooms were not clean and the accommodation did not feel safe. The bedding provided wasn't enough for the colder temperatures. I would not stay here again.

Everything was ok except 2 things. First, the enterance was quite awkward and I could not find when I arrived at 2am. Secondly, the air conditioner. If you are coming and staying here in winter, the comfort you have will be affected very much from the room temparature. It was very cold inside and the air conditioner was very noisy. It prevented me to sleep well.

Not recommended for female solo travellers - I booked a room with a private ensuite for two nights but was put in a room with shared bathroom for the first night (with no warning) and only given a discount when I spoke up to the manager that I was not in the room I had booked. So I had to come back to the hostel during my first day to move my items between rooms. A frustrating experience made worse by no communication beforehand

+ Good location + The lady who picked me up was very helpful and friendly - Old and outdated room. Pics don’t do justice - Dense heavy air in the room. No fan or AC to ventilate - was hard to sleep in - Not the best Wifi - You have to pay a fee if you arrive after 18:00 (which is written in the house rules though) In overal: based on the reviews and photo’s here, it wasn’t what I expected & I think they could really invest a bit more in the place. Atención. Todo el parking delantero es de pago y te bloquean el coche rápido, los de la grúa, al nuestro le pusieron el cepo en 3 minutos, parece que estuvieran esperando detrás de un árbol. El apartamento es imposible de localizar sin un móvil pues no tiene cartel alguno en el exterior. Propietario desaparecido, pero muy muy colaborador por teléfono

Malgré les nombreux avis négatifs et mon appréhension, une fois sur place j'ai réalisé que le propriétaire et la dame de service faisaient de leur mieux ! J'ai eu une très belle expérience dans cet Hostel au centre de Sofia! My sister and me didn’t stay at Hello Sofia hostel at the end. We were moved to another apartment (not far from the hostel) and the woman who welcome us was very nice. Anyway our apartment was connected with another apartment and the last night two guys opened our room while we were sleeping. Not so safe..

This is an odd place. I never encountered anyone. The place is not marked. I am not too familiar with Bulgaria to say if it was worth the value, but it is something I will never forget.

Great location, spacious, clean and comfortable room. The bathrooms could use some love, as a high traffic area involving water, I do understand that they wear out, not quite at the end of their life, but soon approaching. Kitchen needs updated burners, but otherwise met needs.

My second stay: very centrally located, still quiet and very central - a minute away from the main street, good Wi-Fi, simple but clean spacious room, helpful staff, all this on a low rate. There’s a secure parking lot near, where I parked for a low fee, which is a rare convenience in the heart of the city

The host is very kind, polite and helpful. We really enjoy our staying because the room is pretty, cheap and in the middle of the city.

I was booked into the Hello Sofia taxi dropped me off, I headed to the hostel & called the number, only to find I had to walk 22 minutes to another place, no offer of a lift. He told me he did not have my number to call, definitely had my email which they could have notified and I could have redirected my taxi. I headed to a room which was like a shop front, where I was met by the host, who was later than me. The accomodation was OK but the road was very noisy. Very central. Left a night earl

Although the house is old, it very centrally locate, next to the most central metro station Serdika. Room was with AC, Very nice and kind staff.

The people are friendly, the place is quiet and not that far from the center. The problem is the app, they charge you one fee and the rest you have to pay in euros, when I arrived they mentioned that it was in LEVAS. I gave them options, I wasn't going to leave without paying... It took me almost 1 hour arguing with the manager and the receptionist, I was tired and the receptionist was upset because she doesn't speak English, but the problem wasn't mine. Перфектна локация. Страшно изглеждаща стара сграда... Просто място , където да преспиш . Не очаквайте красота, атмосфера или нещо подобно . Цената е приемлива и това е основното качество на този хостел .

Did the job for one night. Staff are hard to get a hold of. WiFi didn't reach my room which was very frustrating. Shower was hot. AC was automatically set by the owners. Bed was comfy enough. Entrance is slightly confusing and the rooms are in a different entrance.

very hard to find at night. Probably very hard to find in the daytime. There’s no marking of any kind visible from the street. There’s no sign there’s no light. There’s no indication that there’s a hostel there. Took me 45 minutes to find the hostel after I got to with 100 meters of it. I ended up having to choose, which of two dark alleys, I wanted to go down to find an unmarked back door. Actually this was a small guesthouse on a very central location, just 2 mins access from metro station Serdika, which makes also easy ride from the Train and bus station - you can reach it in 12-15mins. Simple and clean room access to the kitchen and good price so I was really happy my short stay here.
