That first photo on the site is misleading! That space (not really used by guests - is used by the family and is horribly messy and cluttered!) I visited during late hot and humid August, The saving grace of this place was that I ended up having an air conditioned room to myself and that I rented an e-bike for two days. Best way to make use of this place is to use it only to sleep, eat if you need and GET OUT ON A BIKE! Not very sociable hostel at all, use this place to explore the islands.
Hostel bien positionné sur l’île avec un onsen proche. Par contre, pas vraiment propre, équipement de cuisine désuets. Lit ok, mais rideaux sur les lits inutiles puisque transparents.
Ein guter Ort für die Übernachtung auf der Radtour von Onomochi nach Imabari. Die Unterkunft ist sehr einfach gestaltet und wirkt ein bisschen provisorisch. A good place to stay overnight on the bike tour from Onomochi to Imabari. The accommodation is very simple in design and seems a bit provisional. Unfortunately not all the pictures match the reality. The shared space shown was not available or not available. The hostess was nice and helpful. Payment on site was only possible in cash.
Not social and the kitchen area is small, cold and outdated. But the rooms were very nice and clean and staff was very kind. Out of the way but great onsen nearby. All dinner closes very early so make sure you eat before 7PM.
Decent place just to sleep during the simanami Kaido. The beds are very comfortable, and the place is simple but efficient.

If you’re doing the Shimanami Kaido, it is a little off track but the fantastic service makes it absolutely worth it !! Not only is it located in the best part of the island (which is easy to miss if you don’t stay there), the hospitality is top notch! It makes for the perfect stay between days on the ride, and gives you the perfect opportunity to explore more of Ohmishima Jsland
although the entryway was messy the rooms and facilities were impeccably clean. not really a place too meet new people but offers a clean room and bed to stay in while doing the shimanami kaido.
