AVOID. Arrived at 9, was asked to leave due to ‘cleaning’ and not even allowed to charge my phone- awful lady! Beds- dangerous if top bunk as no proper ladder, the whole bed shaky, no privacy. Showers- limited privacy, everything in the open. No activities offered, no proper hostel vibe or rules accommodating travellers. Bag storage- 100! Better choose elsewhere.

Los baños no tienen agua caliente. Las literas no cuentan con lámparas de noche, no hay espejos en regaderas ni zona para poner tus cosas mientras te bañas. Me tocó una de las chicas voluntariados que se comportó grosera y poco servicial Estuve hospedado 4 noches. No volvería a reservar aquí.

Ne vous attendez à aucune compassion ou aide de la part de la responsable Adela. Deux jours après mon séjour j’ai dû revenir à l’hostel. Je lui ai demandé si je pouvais aller aux toilettes, elle m’a dit que je devais payer 200 pesos!!! Soit le prix pour rester toute la journée dans l’hostel. Or, comme je lui ai expliqué, je ne voulais pas rester à l’hostel, seulement utiliser les toilettes. Elle ne m’a jamais laissé y aller. L’argent avant tout pour elle!!

Places is hot as hell, no Air conditioning, although they do have one that they only turn on for a few hours at night, I suppose to save money, although they use more energy on fans that blow out hot air, it is located on the main avenue so it is very noisy, there are no curtains on the beds so there is no privacy, the bathrooms are outside and separate without privacy either. It’s not 24 hours open so if your flight is after 10 pm they charge you extra fee or they will not allow you to check ...

IF YOU VALUE YOUR SAFETY, MONEY AND PEACE, DO NOT GO TO CASA KRAKEN! After reporting that a guest in the middle of the night tried to break into my locker 3 times while I was asleep, the manager Abel threatened to kick me out for 'overreacting'! They said they kicked him out. The next day he was half-naked in my bed that I paid for! Then the volunteer Hannah told me to my face 'I don't care for you!' and slammed a door in my face! RUN!

The hostel only turned on AC in the bedrooms from 10pm-8am, even though the weather was unbearably hot and humid. Only one fan per room. No fans outside. The showers and toilets are outside of your bedroom, and there are three or four in each room. No privacy. Usually in hostels there is a single shower and single toilet in each room. The events planned by the staff sare only available one day prior, rather than about a week in advance, leaving no way to properly plan anything.

Great location near all the action in town. The hostel was very, very clean with a lot of communal bathrooms. Great communal area and provided breakfast. HOWEVER, it is right next to a church with the LOUDEST bells in the world that would sometimes ring at 6am and throughout the whole day. I timed it and sometimes it would be ringing its bells for more than a minute. Also the rooms are poorly ventilated and with fans I was still sweating to death. I wouldn’t stay at this hostel again personall...

I love the hostel especially the rooftop chill area! There's not much to do tho and not much activities to connect with other travelers.

We booked in for 5 nights, but left after 1 night - the rooms were hot (fans just blew hot air around), and there was no hot water in the showers or bathroom sinks (which the receptionist said was because of an outage in the entire area, but that didn’t seem to actually be the case). The showers also lacked privacy, and had nowhere to properly hang up your clothes or a towel. Unfortunately when we checked out after 1 night there was no willingness to give a refund for any of the 4 other nights...

I stayed here because of the excellent reviews but had the opposite experience unfortunately. I was in a room with only old local men and felt super uncomfortable. The hostel had no atmosphere at all (maybe since they were only old local men staying here). Staff were really nice and the hostel has potential but wouldn’t stay here again

En el año 2026 tienen un wifi pésimo y ratonean la mejor fruta en el desayuno.

Excelente ubicación, el personal en su mayoría muy amable aunque algunos demasiado desinteresados por los huéspedes o sin nada que aportar. Desayuno básico, zonas comunes limpias. Un detalle es que queda al lado de la iglesia y les gusta darle a las campanas (realmente casi ni lo note pero hay gente que le puede llegar a molestar). Tiendas y mercados pequeños cercanos. Mercado de artesanías cerca. Playa no nadable a 5 minutos, para nadar debes caminar solo un poco. Parada de autobús a 1 c...

I loved my stay here! Everything felt so clean and comfortable! The location is great if you want be in the Centro and near the Romantic Zone. The free breakfast is simple but it’s a great bonus! Only con is that there’s no hot water for showers, which given that it’s in a very hot climate doesn’t matter that much!

Gran hostal conocí muchas personas muy limpio y gran staff quizás solo faltan más actividades y mejorar el área de regaderas pero en todo lo demás me la pasar muy bien hospedado con ellos

Excellent and very helpful staff! Wasn’t very social, but makes up for it with amazing location!

A great hostel to stay at. The place is clean and quiet, its in a good location as the zona Romantica is an easy walk away, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The place is really secured, as only guests can get in the front door. It's got lovely vibes and the included breakfast hits the spot. I stayed in the women's only dorm and I'm happy they had that as an option. There's filtered water that you can fill up your water bottles with if you're brave (I did and didn't get sick)

I loved it here!!! It was perfect for what we needed. The staff was super sweet and willing to help. The location felt safe and close to a lot! Overall I had a great experience:)

Great hostel. Close to the beach and food. Saw whales from the rooftop. Cool common spaces. Met some awesome peeps.

I had the best time ever. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Hostel has multiple hangout space. Location is the prime spot tbh as you are close everything you need. If you are looking to find convenient and good hostel I would recommend this. Have try little to make friends with other travels but had great time.

It was just okay to stay here. I stayed at 1st floor, the room was really huge but there were only 8 beds without curtain. It was really odd to me.

A pretty basic hostel in the heart of Puerto Vallarta! Very clean rooms and bathrooms. There aren’t really social activities planned by the hostel but guests might put some together and send in the group chat. It has a couple nice outdoor seating areas too. No AC in the rooms but the fans help at night.

We stayed at Casa Kraken over the new year and it was wonderful. It’s in a prime location, so you can walk to most things which is awesome. The place is constantly being cleaned. The wifi is highly questionable so keep that in mind if you need it. The rooftop has some sweet views and the common areas are cozy. Ofc as with most hostels the people you meet there are half the experience and we met some amazing people there. Until next time

En général toute est super, mais l’emplacement vien avec le fais que c’est super bruyant la nuit! Pas d’air climatisé, fenêtres ouvertes.. la cuisine ferme à 10h.. tu ne dois pas oublier tes choses à l’intérieur! Même si du au autre point fort la note est de 7.4… je ne donne pas plus qu’un 6.5.
