   The property was near a supermarket and a café, which was helpful because the rest of Dubrovnik was priced beyond belief. The property looks nothing like the photos. They had crammed more bunkbeds into my room, and the lamps were hanging off the walls. Rather than the sturdy wooden bunkbeds in the picture, they were creaking and flimsy metal ones. Both I and another person almost tipped the whole bed over trying to climb to the top bunk. The staff were also largely absent, and the front door was unlocked, which made it feel way more insecure than expected. For the price, I do feel like it was a bit of a scam, especially being so far outside the old town.

   Only the location, being close to the main bus station and near a bus stop to the old town. Where do I begin.. I ended up leaving eaely. Most of the reviews are fake, and travellers get roped into leaving positive reviews in exchange to leave their luggage upon check out without additional cost. Rooms are not as described, I booked a 4bed dorm and randomly had a camping bed put in my room to make a 5th bed, people literally camping in the reception, the facilities were very dire and not as described. Beds were squeaky and The main doors left unlocked all night, so literally anyone could walk in. The kitchen was a literal camping stove, showers were overflowing with water, reception is not 24h so we all had issues checking in, despite previous communications with the place. The male owner is very rude, mainly to his staff members who are also travellers. So many things listed in the description here are non existent and you have to pay extra for crusty towels, if you want them. Booking.com also includes all taxes and the owners force you to pay tourist tax, which I've had the platform confirm is included here - so be wary. Wouldn't recommend to anyone or stay again.

   Primero, esperé una hora a que alguien viniera a registrarme. Las instalaciones están muy sucias y el proceso de limpieza no es adecuado para el gran volumen de personas. Me asignaron un locker para mis pertenencias, el cual estaba roto y tuve que poner mis cosas en el locker de mi hermana. (Si ella no estaba allí no sabía dónde ponerlos.) Esta habitación no vale lo que nos cobraron. Cuando hice la queja, el dueño entró a la habitación sin llamar, mientras había gente durmiendo y chicas vistiéndose, e hizo lo mismo cuando fui al baño, intentando forcejearme la puerta. Sin duda, no estaba abierto al diálogo y comenzó a insultar mi nacionalidad. Una experiencia horrible.

   I was verbally attacked and insulted by the owner, who was extremely rude, simply because I asked him to apologize for arriving 1.5 hours late (check-in was at 2:00 pm, but he showed up at 3:30 pm). He then canceled my booking and said, “Let’s go outside and fight." Nice behavior for someone working in a hostel...

   Pretty meh. I got a WhatsApp the morning of asking when we would checkin and I said 8pm. When we arrived there was no one on reception and calling him. said they would be 10 minutes. Over 30 min later a man showed up to check us in. Everything was unlocked. Anyone could walk in to any room and they did all night! The room was basic and the bunk was really high not secured. the bed was so loud. One of them was right under the light which was hanging and had the aircon blowing on you 10cm away.

   DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This is without a doubt the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve been in many different hostels across Europe in both female and mixed bed dorms yet I’ve never stayed somewhere as terrible as this. The security is non existent (the front doors were left wide open at 4am for anyone to walk in) there was no staff to check us in for over 10 minutes and the hostel looks nothing like its photos! One person had to sleep on the floor after discovering she had bed bugs and the staf

   Booked on hostel world. No one was there to check us in. When I called the number he messaged and aggressively asked why I called him. We expressed concern with 1) leaving our bags in the common area with an unlocked door while waiting for a bed to become available 2) comments about bedbugs. Our concerns were not well received and we were told to leave and verbally harassed. He told us if we left a bad review he would make sure the whole world knew about us? Okay in a pinch I guess but personally I would rather not deal with this kind of ownership, especially as a woman, or health hazard. This place should be closed down

   Very clean hostel with friendly staff but the kitchen facilities are lacklustre and it is not very secure. A large locker is provided for bags but there are no locked doors at night.

    Hostel did not look like photos at all. Bathrooms were disgusting and there was water everywhere. Kept hearing complaints of bed bugs so we were afraid to sleep. Unorganized and uncomfortable. Front door was unlocked at all times, making it feel very unsafe. Only positive was that our luggage was safe.

    BETTWANZEN HORROR UND AGGRESSIVER BESITZER FINGER WEG VON DIESEM HOSTEL! Ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll, denn was wir in diesem sogenannten „Hostel“ erlebt haben, sprengt jede Vorstellung von Gastfreundschaft und Hygiene. Von einer „Unterkunft“ kann hier wirklich keine Rede sein. Schon bei unserer Ankunft war klar, dass hier etwas nicht stimmt. Die Dusche war mit Schimmel übersät – und ich rede hier nicht von ein paar Flecken, sondern von einer Gesundheitsgefahr, die sich über den gesamten Duschbereich erstreckt hat. Der Boden? Komplett dreckig. Es sah so aus, als ob seit Wochen niemand gereinigt hätte. Absolut widerlich. Aber das war noch nicht alles. Am Abend haben wir mit Entsetzen festgestellt, dass unser Zimmer von Bettwanzen befallen war. Und ich spreche hier nicht von ein paar vereinzelten Käfern, sondern von einer regelrechten Invasion, die sich über den gesamten Raum ausgebreitet hatte. Zwei von uns hatten bereits Bissspuren am Körper. Ich glaube, es ist nachvollziehbar, dass wir in diesem Raum absolut keine Nacht verbringen wollten. Wer kann schon schlafen, wenn ihm die Bettwanzen im Nacken sitzen? Natürlich wollten wir sofort aus dieser Horrorunterkunft verschwinden, aber – Überraschung! – niemand vom Hostel war erreichbar. Keine Kontaktperson vor Ort, per Telefon niemand erreichbar, einfach niemand. Also mussten wir uns selbst helfen. Zwei von uns haben die Nacht im Auto verbracht, während die anderen beiden gezwungen waren, auf einer Parkbank zu schlafen. Ja, Sie haben richtig gelesen: auf einer Parkbank! Als wir am nächsten Morgen endlich den Besitzer erreicht haben, folgte jedoch keine Entschuldigung oder auch nur ansatzweise eine Lösung. Stattdessen begegnete uns pure Aggression! Der Besitzer war völlig ausfallend und hat uns sogar bedroht. Er verlangte allen Ernstes, dass wir eine positive Bewertung abgeben, damit wir überhaupt eine Rückerstattung unseres Geldes in Betracht ziehen könnten. So eine erpresserische Unverschämtheit habe ich selten erlebt! Und als ob das nicht schon genug gewesen wäre, hat uns der Besitzer auch noch dazu gebracht, für einen Parkplatz zu zahlen, auf dem wir gar nicht stehen durften, weil er nicht einmal zum Hostel gehörte! Das muss man sich mal vorstellen – wir zahlen für einen Parkplatz, nur um dann herauszufinden, dass dieser nicht zum Hostel gehört und wir dort gar nicht stehen dürfen. Das ist doch einfach nur dreist. Zusammengefasst: Schimmel, Dreck, Bettwanzen, keine Ansprechpartner, erpresserische Drohungen und auch noch falsche Informationen über den Parkplatz. Finger weg von diesem Ort!

    I can't give it zero stars, but I wish I could. The location is far from the old town, the facilities were disgusting, and to top it off, I found four bedbugs crawling down the wall, on the bed post, and on the bottom of the top bunk mattress right above my head. I left the hostel immediately upon finding the bed bugs, without even staying one night(of a 3 night booking), and they refused to return any of the money for the booking. This place is trash. There are much better hostels in the old town area for the same price range.

    They are scammers! Alot of bedbugs in every single bed! DO NOT GO HERE! You have to pay additional city sleep tax which a weirdly speaking employee took in cash! All of us got bedbugs bites and the showers are flooding! The owner/manager also scams people with trasnfers to the airport! Charges them and then doesnt show up! ONCE AGAIN DO NOT BOOK!

    I'm glad that Google reviews are representing an accurate picture of what it is like to stay here.... DO NOT! and companies with this property listed on their roster should remove it until remedial actions are taken. Here goes..... No doubt this post will generate a whole load of abuse from the 'owner' who seems to go by different names depending upon who you speak to, but that is nothing compared to the abuse and rudeness he has already given me. I rarely complain and nor do I have the time to do so UNLESS something is so serious. At the end of the day we are paying guests (the amount we are paying should not justify unclean and unhygienic conditions and poor service). I had booked 4 nights in the hostel as a base to explore the surrounding area. To begin with the manager was jovial and friendly, great I thought. Night 1, I was assigned Room A, Bed 1. I slept well but woke covered, and I mean covered in bites. I had to leave very early for a day trip I had planned, so, wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, thinking they could have been mosquito bites, I tried to put it to the back of my mind. Returning quite late from the trip, I checked my bed - the sheets were covered in dots of blood and there were three bed bugs on the sheet, 2 small one very large. I messaged the owner. Why did you not tell me this earlier? I can't do anything now? (please see above why, I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt). The solution that night was to cover myself from top to toe in clothing and bug spray (which he kindly gave me) LOL More bites in the morning. The previous night the 'owner' had assured me that the beds would be 'sanitised'.... with a domestic steam cleaner and that he would move me to a private room in a different property he had. I watched this process as his staff member, clearly not knowing how to use the machine, blew puffs of air onto the bed, not even taking the bottom sheet off fully. I waited around most of the day for this then he eventually took me to my alternative accommodation. It seemed to be staff quarters combined with some overflow guests. I was shown to a room that had two other females in it. A double bed and a single. They were leaving in the morning and I had no idea who else could be placed in there - he offered some swift assurances he would 'try' and make sure they were female ...... All other occupants appeared to be the Uzbek and Nepali staff he had working for him. The bathroom resembled a scene off trainspotting. An open door to one of the workers rooms showed that some people were sleeping on the floor (another issue potentially). I immediately made the decision to leave and head back down the hill. he has you over a barrels really because who can afford to jump from £50 pn accom to £150...... I told him my decision by whatsapp and asked for a new bed. You will have to go back to A1, no other options. After reminding him that I had been very reasonable about all of this so far he eventually confirmed I could move to B2, after claiming there were no other beds free - even though he had counted 3 in front of me earlier. Room felt cleaner and fresher and I slept okay but woke with still more bites. The final night I returned to my room late to find another guest. After 10 mins she screamed out. A bed bug had bitten her. I told her what had happened to me. i'm outta here she said, i'll join you said I, having reached my limit. We both tried to contact the owner. His responses becoming more and more hostile, I was called a lier, he threatened to call the police on me for causing trouble! His response to me was 'stop texting me these things'... to her it was to block her number. Great hospitality! As I said to commence, I get that things happen, I have worked in the tourism industry for decades, but it is about the way issues are dealt with that is the make or break of whether a guest leaves happy or feeling like this.

    It's a good thing I only needed to stay one night; I couldn't have stayed in that place any longer, it ruined the entire experience of my vacation. If there hadn't been a sign with the name and a reception desk, I would never have guessed it was a hostel. I was met by a strange man who didn't introduce himself. He said my place wasn't here (near the park) but in the old town where another building of the hostel was located. However, since he couldn't really explain how to get there (he didn't have extra maps, route descriptions, or identifying photos), he suggested I stay there as there was one spot available. At the time, I thought it was a good idea since it was already late and I was tired after a day of traveling. But now I think that if the staff member had been more competent and organized, I would have reached the place I actually booked, and my stay at the hostel wouldn't have been so horrible. Before going to bed, I looked up and saw a bug crawling on the top mattress. Since I had already taken off my glasses, I thought it was just attracted to the light. In the morning, it turned out to be a bedbug! The girl who was sleeping on the top bunk found another one under her pillow! She immediately started checking her things that were hanging on the bed and found another one right inside her underwear! When another girl squashed the bug, we saw blood, which meant it had already bitten someone! The two girls were scared and decided to leave immediately. The problem was that they had already extended their stay and reported the bedbug issue and requested a refund for the remaining days. The manager (listed as Pero on WhatsApp) was very aggressive. At first, he responded to her message with the photo of the bug by saying she was lying. Then he arrived and aggressively started questioning us one by one: "Who are you? what’s your name? who are you?" It was quite stressful as he invaded my personal space, looked challengingly into my eyes, and spoke in a raised voice. Moreover, I was seeing him for the first time; he didn't even introduce himself. Terrible service, terrible atmosphere. In the place where guests were supposed to hang out together, there were random people. Random, because none of them introduced themselves or stated their position in the hostel. The staff didn’t have any identifying markers, like at least polo shirts with the hostel logo. It was clear that the design of the hostel was wonderful, but everything was very neglected: the bed I slept on was wobbly, the bathrooms had water on the floor, dirt, and mold, there wasn’t a single piece of solid soap, the couch upholstery was dirty, and there were messy boxes everywhere, making the reception area look like a storage room. It’s a pity that you can't capture the smell in photos; it was unpleasant. On the shelf where magazines and tourist brochures should be, there were staff leftovers. All the chairs were sticky; in fact, everything there was sticky from dirt. In the morning, I took the electric kettle to make myself some tea and had to wash it inside and out because it was sticky and dirty. There should be some standard of cleanliness, right? There are three rooms, each with about four people, so twelve strangers live and relax there, and the place is in such unsanitary condition! Hostels are not only for saving on accommodation; they are created for solo travelers to socialize and make friends. The very philosophy is that many strangers live in one room based solely on trust. Therefore, a hostel should feel like a safe place, and this atmosphere of safety and friendliness is usually created by the staff and owners of the hostels. Advice to the owner: hire someone at the reception who understands hospitality and is generally friendly and sociable. And for cleaning, hire a WOMAN! I took the photos in the bathroom after a boy had mopped there, and he didn’t use a single cleaning or disinfecting agent! All I could think at that moment was: thank God I booked only one night!

    I stayed here with a friend, the place looks nothing like the pictures, it's very small and dirty, the bathroom smells terrible. The staff is very aggressive and one of the men working there kept coming into the room, so it was impossible for us to sleep. And to top all of that, my friend caught bed bugs and she wasn't the only host that had this experience. They didn't even give us our money back. Not worth it, CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY

    I had the worst experience at this place. The owner is a racist, sexist and a narcissist man. I booked this place and just for enquiring about a tax , he told me he can’t accept me at the place even when it was all paid. He harassed me in front of other guests when I confronted , he literally gave me a panic attack. I had traveled to all the balkans and in Croatia as well to other places but I haven’t seen a man like him who is so wrong and yet so proud of himself for being wrong. I hope you see Google reviews before booking the place since he makes you cancel booking. Com bookings so that you can’t give a review anymore.

    DO NOT STAY HERE. Upon arrival, the hostel looked nothing like the pictures online. It was dirty, crowded, and there were no locked doors in the hostel. The bathroom was actively flooding when I came in. The manager, Chris, told me he would be there in 10 minutes to check me in and it took him 50 minutes to show up. I reluctantly paid a “tourist board tax” that was not included or mentioned before booking. As I was checking in, another guest left, claiming she saw a bedbug. The manager grew visibly and audibly frustrated, shouting at other guests in the hostel, before assigning me the same bed the other guest had just vacated. As it was dark by the time I had checked in, I figured I would tough it out for the night, but then the manager was shouting at another guest, and I felt physically unsafe with his erratic behavior. I left immediately and found another hostel last-minute. When I started to contact Booking.com’s customer service, the property cancelled my booking which effectively stopped me from leaving a review or getting customer support. That’s why there are little to no bad reviews on Booking.com — my mistake for not looking at Google reviews as well. I hope Booking.com takes this listing down. This hostel is a scam and it should not be allowed to function.

    Unsafe, very dirty place that scams people by charging money in advance. The reception doesnt bother to check in people, just sends message to go in, i went to place - all doors open, anyone can enter without a key. Avoid at all costs, dangerous.

    AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! In all of my travels this is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. There is a reason you have to pay in advance. I booked 2 nights at this location mainly because it was close to the bus stop but as soon as the payment went through the owner Peter messaged me on WhatsApp saying he is out of town and that I have to stay in his other hostel that was 3.5km away. At this point it was already paid for so I though I would give it a shot. Once I arrived the door was open and all the keys for the rooms were just laying around. I could only handle one night before leaving and booking a different hostel I instantly started seeing issues. The place was filthy, the door to my room does not close unless locked, the lock would often get jammed and was difficult to use. The tap bathroom never stops, it constantly leaking. The overhead light did not work at all. The sheets never fit the bed and worst of all every room I checked was infested with bed bugs. I messaged Peter asking if there was anything we could do to make my stay more enjoyable and just got rude responses then continued to hound me to pay him the city tax even though it says it is included with Booking.com. Owners like Peter should not be allowed to run hostels or be in the hospitality industry. Do not bother spending a cent staying here.

    DO NOT STAY HERE!! I arrived to an empty hostel. There was not one person there! No staff, no other people. I messaged the owner & he said to just pick a bed, they all looked slept in. I picked one & a beg bug came crawling out, then I noticed there was lots of dead bugs on the floor. I then read lots of reviews about the bed bugs and decided I didn’t want to ruin my holiday with bites so I left! The owner will not refund so hopefully everyone sees these reviews before they book! It also did not feel safe. The door to the hostel from the street is unlocked. Someone could just walk in!

    Bed bugs infestation on Sept 3-5...when I checked in the owner made no mention of the bed bugs in one room which is the room I was supposed to have. Being chill about it I didnt worry being put in another room. I should have questioned it. Later that night a guest revealed to me that the owners were aware of the bed bug infestation. Subsequently I was bitten over 20 times in the room I was given. Later I found bed bugs in the common room also..and as another reviewer wrote a month ago the bed bug issue has been going on. Owner refused to refund my booking.

    BEWARE!!!! IF YOU FILE A COMPLAINT ON BOOKING.COM HE WILL CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION AND SAY YOU NEVER SHOWED UP... YOU WONT BE ABLE TO LEAVE A REVIEW, AND YOU HAVE TO PROVE YOU WERE THERE (I TOOK VIDEOS AND PHOTOS BEFORE LEAVING)... CHECK RECENT REVIEWS, THE REVIEWS ON BOOKING ARE INFLATED! I checked into the hostel at 5pm, and then I found out later that night that this place had bed bugs. I left with another guest at 2-3am for a hotel. I messaged the owner but he never responded. Once I filed the claim with booking and they contacted him, he cancelled my reservation as a "no show" and said he didn't have to refund anything. The owner will be extremely friendly until you have a problem, then he wil lie and use manipulative tactics to get your money and avoid responsibility. I have notified booking about their reviews process and the shady tactics of this owner. 3 of us strangers who were all in the same room have filed a claim for the same reason. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! UPDATE: Booking.com is aware of what this owner is doing and will not remove him from their site. They will not refund you your money and I am still unable to leave a review on their site. People who had their reservations canceled by this owner can’t leave reviews on booking…. BOOKING.COM doesn’t care about its customers, or they would have removed this owner from their site. I know of 5 people in my room that filed claims with the same result.
