I spent one night here in October 2024. I am not sure if it was due to the fact that I was visiting during off season but there were very few people staying here. I'm a female and booked an all female dorm (thank god). I think I was the only female staying on the property and most were men in their 50s+. The staff was friendly and helpful. But you live in a family home. There are a lot of (sick) kids who are playing loud everywhere. The bathroom was dirty and no hot shower.

Staff were nice and very helpful, but dorm room was TINY with no space for bags, no top sheet provided, loud from street noise, very few bathrooms. Convenient to airport bus stop.

Very very friendly staff, but the room was not great. Walls are paper thin and the bed is tiny for two people. The sheet kept coming off which felt quite disgusting. Location not great in relation to downtown but close to large supermarkets and the bus to the airport. Didn’t use the shared facilities that much so this review isn’t based on those.

My experience might not be the best as we got a room located right on the street and the noise was making it difficult to sleep. The bunk beds are unsafe as there is no safety bar. One of the beds did not have linens, only a blanket that was most likely not clean. The bathroom was not usable as it was covered with mold… the only good thing was the 24/7 check-in and breakfast, although atmosphere was not super welcoming.

Ideal location near TIKA bus terminal. The beds however were awful and like cardboard as the mattresses were so thin. Only accepts cash.

The staff where very nice, amazing service really made the experience a lot better. Cleanness in our room wasn’t that great. But great hostel for a short stay.

This hostel is ok for the price. Didn’t like the vibe there, it’s tiny, the kitchen is bad and the breakfast is not enough (but common for included breakfast). Sometimes it’s clean and the rooms are ok. For one night it’s fine, but nothing for long term stays.

not very social but good value for one or two nights

Very nice hostel, very clean, I was lucky to get a 2 person room with only one bunk bed, it was really nice and comfy. Maybe one more bathroom would be nice but otherwise it’s a really nice hostel. The big advantage is the breakfast (eggs, pinto y frutas), and being so close the bus terminal. And the staff is super friendly!

Picked this location as a quick stop from flying into SJO and leaving 2 days later, was perfect for my bus route. The staff here were so lovely, and the free breaky was a menu with a few different options. Multiple nice common spaces.

I just stayed one night before taking a flight. But globally the hostel was pretty clean, nice mattress and mostly a lovely staff!

This place was perfect, except for the noise. The staff was wonderful, the rooms clean, the beds comfortable and the common area beautiful, but the private room I stayed in (called Irazú) had a window that couldn't close, which made me hear everything on the busy street. And there was stomping and noise from the people above me (I'm not sure if the dorms were directly above my room, but it was very loud). I can't speak for the dorms or other private rooms; they might be fine. But I hardly slept...

Great place to stay

The owner was very nice, good location in San Jose, but it wasn’t a typical social vibe. Mostly older people, mostly men. Included breakfast was really good. Kitchen was pretty small, but had most things. Just a weird vibe, good place to stay a few nights.

Nettes Hostel. Jedoch waren viele Kinder dort, weswegen es auch recht laut war. Es gab keine Schließfächer, die Zimmertüren ließen sich nicht abschließen und das Personal hat leider kaum Englisch gesprochen. Es war jedoch alles sauber, die Küche war gut ausgestattet und wenn man es familiär mag, ist es perfekt.

Ambient cálido y familiar. Facinada con El Hostal y TODO su staff.

Personnel vraiment gentil et arrangeant, rien que pour ça, je recommande à 100% !

Very good value for money for Costa Rica. Helpful and friendly staff, helped us to arrange what we needed.

Everything was great. The staff is wanderful and very helpfull. A little beat far away from the center. About 20 munites walking. Balue for the money.

This was such a nice place! I slept well, plenty of travelers to chat with, and they were super accommodating and let us leave bags there for a couple days for a small fee. The place was clean and the included breakfast was good

Service à la clientèle agréable. Emplacement idéal, beaucoup de choses à faire à pieds (épicerie à 4 min à pieds). Peu de visiteurs en août et peu d’activités qui permet de socialiser. Je recommande fortement.
