Wise Owl Hostels Shibuya

- Room was inadequate unacceptable and completely overpriced. They have tried to cram a bunk bed into a tiny coffin of a room and not thought through actually trying to stay in the room at all. Its not practical to rent out a room like this and the 8000 yen price is a scam because photos of this room are not shown. Besides this the customer service was hit and miss and bit defensive at times (probably because of the frequent complaints). But telling us to keep our luggage in the luggage area downstairs which is not secured and to take what we need from our bags to our private room is not a suitable solution for a $8000 yen a night room. Poor location. Have to pay 2000 yen or something to check in before 4pm (only hotel in the world probably). No breakfast or tea or coffee offered. So many great cheap budget hostels in tokyo offering 5 star service why stay here?

+ The staff were nice

- During our stay, we were only able to take a shower on one day (out of 4 days that we stayed). Most of the time, the showers were either out of service or there was no hot water available, only super cold water. On the single day when hot water was working, it lasted for approximately five minutes, which was not enogh. We lost a lot of time waiting for the problem to be solved plus we had to visit the city without havent been able to take a shower for a few days. The staff was supportive, and we appreciate their willingness to help. However the issue was never fully resolved during our stay. This is the first time we feel compelled to leave a negative review, but the lack of basic facilities such as reliable hot water significantly impacted our experience. Given the circumstances, we believe some form of partial refund or compensation would have been appropriate.

+ Black mold growing in our room. Seeking refund.

- The fact that our bedroom had black mold on the walls

+ La habitación era muy pequeña y no había calefacción, al colmo entraba aire frío desde la ventana. Fui a reclamar a la recepción (aprox 9:30pm) y no había nadie que atienda. Realmente pasamos una mala noche y al día siguiente cambiamos el hotel.

- I had a frightening and unpleasant experience, so I don't recommend this hostel. When I extended my stay at the front desk the staff assured me that I could stay in the same room and even updated my key card’s period. However, the last day, I returned to my bed and find someone else using. Since my key card was still valid, I naturally went back to my room, only to be shocked and freaked out by the situation. So I asked the staff, they informed me for the first time that it was due to overbooking. My belongings, including something in the safety box, were left in the room while another guest was staying there, which made me extremely uncomfortable. I wasn’t allowed to retrieve my items myself, they were carelessly placed in a basket and returned to me. The box of a gift I had purchased got dirty, and they lost several items, including brand new ones I had bought in Japan. Even the alternative bed they offered me was occupied by someone else, I need to go and check multiple room. Later, they said to send me some of the found items later, but they chose cash-on delivery without confirming the shipping method. I am unsure if I will actually receive the package. Moreover, they offered no compensation for the lost items.Everything about this experience was extremely unpleasant.

+ 없어요 좋은점. 시부야라면서 시부야까지 꽤 거리가 멀고, 오는길이 컴컴해서 좀 무서워요. 그리고 두명방을 예약했는데 사진보다 너무너무 작아서 2명인데도 1명도 짐풀지못했어요. 샤워실은 밖에있는데 운동화신고다니는길이여서 따로 슬리퍼가 필요합니다. 연휴때문에 어쩔수없이 예약한거 다신 안갈듯 합니다.

- The fifth floor I lived in was immersed in almost constant laughter and noise even after 23:00. From 4:00 am, someone's alarm clock kept ringing. I chose this hostel because the distance is rather close to my next day's destination and I was planning to take an entrance exam to UoT. Owing to the unstoppable noise of other dwellers, I didn't feel rested for the whole night and decided to check our 1 day earlier even though I booked for 2 days.

+ Great access to the station.

- Broken curtains. The other guests who walked around and chatting loudly after midnight. Even they started cooking stakes so the smoke and smell went everywhere. Lack of common sense and respect to other guests.

- 공간이 너무 없어서 힘들었어요. 이층침대가 꽉 차있어서 캐리어 펼 공간도 없고 앉아 쉴 곳도 없어요. 많이 불편했어요.

+ 価格の割には清潔で設備も必要十分。ベッドは清潔感があった。ルームメイトにも恵まれて夜は静かに眠れた

- チェックインが23時までで以降は事前連絡の上加算のようだが、当日のメールまできづかなかった

+ Lovely staff, Clean comfortable rooms/facilities, great location and a well stocked bar with drinks, coffees etc

+ The staff is soo cool!!!!! K was so helpful and a cool person to chat with :)

- Soo many beds in one dorm... So many drunk people snoring, but is unavoidable in a hostel. Maybe they could give earplugs?

+ i loved how easy it was to make friends and all the people working were so lovely. I would definitely go back

- I think there was mould in our room as there were dark spots in a wall corner

+ The crew was amazing—super nice people. The shower was very clean and worked great. They also have a tequila night at 8 o’clock at the bar downstairs, which was a lot of fun. Highly recommended for the price!

+ 渋谷の横という立地の割に安くて、しかもきれいで快適でした。べッドサイド横の鍵付き収納はありがたい。ベッドが丈夫で軋まず、上や下の人の寝返りが気にならなかった。部屋の温度がちょうどよかった。シャワーは温水が出なくなるかもと注意書きがあったが23時ごろには運よく温水がすぐに出た。

- 靴の履き分けがあまりなされていなかった。2段ベッドに登る階段が靴箱を兼ねている。せめてトイレだけでもスリッパがあれば。 ベッド照明のシェードが全方向に光漏れするタイプで、隣の人が点けると天井に反射してまぶしい。人によりアイマスクが必要かも。
