Don’t go there! The atmosphere was really unpleasant. The hostel is very run down. All of the staff members / owners are very heavy weed smokers, it almost feels like they are not aware of their surroundings/ reality anymore. I never experienced such unfriendly staff in my whole trip, they are mean, not helpful at all with anything and sometimes they don’t react at all. We even left the place early because we couldn’t stand this heavy atmosphere anymore.
Unser Bett war voller Termiten.. das ganze Bettgestell war befallen und das Bett war sowieso voller fragwürdiger Flecken. Wir haben uns so unwohl gefühlt, sodass wir dann um 11 Uhr abends noch die Unterkunft gewechselt haben. Am nächsten Tag haben wir zwar einen Refund für zwei von drei Nächten bekommen, aber überrascht war das Personal überhaupt nicht. Ganz im Gegenteil wurde uns dann sogar erklärt, dass die Zimmer öfters von Tieren befallen sind.. entschuldigt haben sie sich nicht.
Our bed was full of Termites.. the whole bed frame was infested and the bed was full of questionable Flecks anyway. we felt so uncomfortable that we changed the accommodation at 11pm. the next day we did get a refund for two of the three nights, but the staff were not surprised at all. quite the contrary, we were even explained that the rooms were infested with animals.. they did not apologize.
demasiado basica, sin jabon c lo cual uno tiene q salir a comprar y te sale lo mismo pagar un poco mas en otro lado mejor. luz de 6 pm a 5am y un solo enchufe osea o enchufas el celular o enchufas el ventilador. cero mantenimiento al bungalow. termitas en la cama y hormigas por todos lados. por un par de dolares mas me iba al resort y queda mas cerca de la playa, pero al que le gusta esa onda hippie dejado quizas le va xq en si el lugar tiene onda p el moco es la habitacion... la gente re amable
basic, no soap c which you have to q go out to buy and you get the same pay a little bit but somewhere else better. light from 6 pm to 5am and a single plug in or you plug in your cell phone or you plug in the fan. zero maintenance to the bungalow. termites in bed and ants everywhere. for a couple of dollars but I would go to the resort and stay but near the beach, but to the one that that hippie wave left quizas like him go xq in if the place has a wave p el moco is the living room... the peopl...
The staff were friendly at check in and check out. However I didn't get a single good night's sleep as they have music playing till early hours and the sub bass filters through to the dorms, so even with headphones on I could still hear it. The rooms only had 2 plug sockets for a 4 person dorm. The area is relaxing during the day just not being able to sleep well has really ruined my experience of the place. It's a 10 minute walk from the beach and you have to pay for water.
BEWARE, the chill out is located in Tonsai Beach, not in the central area of Krabi (Ao Nang), so you need to take a boat to get there. That being said, Tonsai Beach is really nice and chill. Regarding the hostel, it is not as well located as it seems (it doesn't face the ocean, it's not that easily accessible). My room was next to the sewers, there was no light in the bathroom. Hostels nearby are far better.

Wouldn't book here. Tonsai beach is deserted. Me and my group had to book another hotel on railay beach. Before covid it might have been a nice spot but now everyone stays in railay. There's no up to date photos online of what the hostel and surrounding area looks like. The owner is nice and its quite unfortunate that the area hasn't picked back up but for the moment I would recommend people staying on railay side.
This accommodation was very disappointing. After paying 100 baht to access the island by boat, we were taken to a room with beds that were as hard as rocks, with no proper bedding, next to damp and unhygienic showers. To add to this discomfort, the beds had no privacy; just three single beds cramped into a small room. The only thing that made this run down accommodation satisfactory is that it was a 5 minute walk from the beautiful beachfront.
Food is horrific and over priced even the couple next to me sent theirs back. Coffee even worse. Rooms horribly ventilated I have no problem with no ac but than you need proper ventilation and bedding not polyester sheets and table cloth for blanket. Never heard of place I can’t be checked out 7 am well now I have with the owner/manager screaming go go go 😂 hahaaaa will visit the location again but not that place you are way better staying at railay beach pleasant there
Kamen für die in den Kommentaren genannten netten Menschen, aber war im September komplett ausgestorben. Tonsai Beach war quasi nichts geöffnet, es war ausserdem schwierig zu Fuß aus Railay hinzukommen. Bettwäsche war zwar vermutlich sauber, aber hatte viele große eingewaschene/ausgebleichte Flecken drauf .

I must stay here again. The most chill and inviting staff, and sick setup on the property. Surrounded by stunning cliffs. Miss this place.
Cool vibe! You feel more connected to nature. Relaxed and authentic place. Electricity only 6pm-5am was only a bit annoying with the fan in the morning (very hot)
Great place to meet fellow climbers. The bathroom sink leaked and there is only electricity until 4am, when the fans shut off(no a.c.) Tough place to be when it’s very hot. Otherwise enjoyed my time here, good people and location.

chill spot, kind of off the beaten path, id make sure to charge a power bank, there is one outlet in the room and the fan is necessary at night, all in all great location just make sure you're ready to rough it a bit
It should be clearly stated before booking that the hostel can only be reached by boat. This information is very important and made my arrival quite stressful when I found out. Facilities are very minimal: one power outlet and electricity only at night. The bathroom is very old and the toilet was not clean. Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again.
Loved this place so much. Such good vibes, and super chilled out. This place is surrounded by jungle, trees and greenery. Listening to the nature and waking up to roosters crowing and chickens around your hut is just amazing
They did an excellent job with the bungalows here. It’s not luxury but if you’re on Tonsai, chances are you aren’t looking for luxury, and this place is perfect for your stay.
It’s a fairly unique hostel, you need to understand the vibe, it's not a posh place. If you’re looking for a place to chill in nature and you love climbing, it’s perfect for you!! Less suitable for those who want to explore Ao Nang, Krabi, and the islands.
Overall great stay, great vibe, excellent staff.
it was as expected really. not the cleanest, but rustic and functional. I think for rock climbers it's a good place to stay but for non climbers I think it'd be hard to stay here many nights. the lack of AC and electricity wasn't a huge problem. when I was there the atmosphere was a bit odd. lots of people smoking and keeping to themselves. but I guess that can fluctuate depending on who is there. some board games there would be nice

Close to local restaurants and 5min walk from beach. Unfortunately our second night was disrupted at 3am by mice coming in through aircon which didn’t work. It’s also important to be prepared with cash, which was not explicitly specified on the booking.
Uadéal si l'on aime ambiance hippie. Bungalows spartiates dans bel environnement. Par contre il faut payer dès que l'on arrive. On n'avait pas assez. On y est resté 2 couples 2 chambres pendant 4 jours. Plutôt que de nous dire qu'il pouvait attendre le lendemain on lui a donné des euros et là waouh le taux de change. Pas très backpaker tout ça 😫 Accès pas facile à trouver devrait donner petit plan quand réservation confirmée
Ideal if you like hippie atmosphere. Spartan bungalows in beautiful surroundings. On the other hand you have to pay as soon as you arrive. We didn't have enough. We stayed there 2 couples 2 bedrooms for 4 days. Rather than tell us that he could wait until the next day we gave him euros and there was waouh the exchange rate. Not very backpacker all that Access not easy to find should give a little plan when reservation confirmed

I really liked the atmosphere, the staff were super friendly and the setting was stunning. I found the rooms really comfy and clean.
Tonsai no está conectado con el centro de Krabi; solo se llega en longtail. La electricidad funciona únicamente de 18 a 6. El hostel está “bien”, aunque es caro para lo que ofrece. El día que llegamos, muy cansados (nos quedamos 5 días), el trato del personal no fue el mejor: nos cambiaron dólares a una cotización pésima y tuvimos que aceptar porque no teníamos efectivo y nos insistieron con el depósito. Se muestran como chill, pero no ofrecen ni agua y hasta nos cobraron por calen...
Tonsai is not connected to the centre of Krabi; it is only reached by longtail. The electricity runs only from 18 to 6.The hostel is good, although it is expensive for what it offers.The day we arrived, very tired (we stayed for 5 days), the staff's treatment was not the best: they exchanged us dollars at a terrible quote and we had to accept because we had no cash and they insisted on the deposit. They show up as chill, but they don't offer any water and they even charged us for heating it.
Over a decent experience, but the location was a little misleading. We didn't realize that there was several other hotels on the beach (rookie mistake) so unplugging wasn't entirely accurate I would say. A bummer to life electricity when you know the hotels around you have it the whole time. that said, I was aware I would not have electricity during the day when booking.
