This rating would have been way higher except the staff disappeared for 2 days and I wasn’t told they would be there for 2 days straight. If I knew that, I would have asked anything I needed prior. For the one day I met the staff member, she was lovely. Everything else was great minus the atmosphere. Weekend was busier, but weekday only 3 of us in the entire hostel.

Good, one night stay. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Toilets are modern and the area is beautiful. Great base to tackle some Welsh hiking.

My wife, mother in law and son stayed in the en suite 4 bed bunk dorm in Betys Y Coed for the night. Great accommodation.

basecamp snowdonia was a lovely bunkhouse to stay in having really good cleanliness and facilities, the staff were really kind and helpful and i couldn't ask for more in either of these fundamental areas! Where i do think improvements could be made are in the "finishing touches" for example a small shelf in the bunk to house a glass of water, and give you somewhere to place glasses and a phone overnight, i had to put mine on the floor or next to my pillow, not ideal. Great place to stay, right in the middle of the town, rooms are great clean the light, socket and curtain on ever bunch was brilliant, the showers were great, the dry room a extra bonus. Staff were great with lots of local knowledge. Only downside was the parking I didn’t have a problem but if you had a group of you, you would have to go to the carpark but a small price to pay to stay at a great place.

We stayed here for one night as everywhere else was fully booked, and it turned out to be an interesting experience. The location is fantastic—right in the middle of town. The rooms were clean and well thought out, with individual lights, sockets, and curtains on each bunk, which was brilliant. The showers and toilets were also very good. The hostel was very clean and the instructions to get in were very clear. There is not always staff around but they did have a number you can call if something went wrong. The room was quite snug but the beds were very comfy and sturdy. There’s a bus stop to Snowdon 2 minutes away. My biggest gripe would be that a tea bag in the hostel cost £1.50.

Floors could do with a good clean. Staff not the friendliest.

The stay was brilliant, parking was difficult with the entrance being a sharp turn right off a bend into a very steep hill. Once parked, had a lovely stay!

We stayed as a motorbiking group for a night this weekend. From booking months ago, to checking in and general help, Base Camp were brilliant. Probably the nicest hostel I've stayed In, and as a group booking an entire dorm made the stay feel like a a decent hotel. Can't thank them enough for being welcoming and accommodating, which unfortunately is becoming increasingly rare. Book it now, if not for the outstanding rooms and staff, for the location.

A truly quaint and beautiful hostel. The rooms and bathrooms were lovely, and the decor and ambiance was delightfully cozy! The two owners were welcoming. 10/10

The location in Betws-y-Coed is great for things in the town and also deeper into Snowdonia. I'd definitely recommend it and would more than happily stay there again. Stu

Honestly, one of my top hostel experiences anywhere. Always wanted to stay overnight in this town and this hostel allowed for that at an affordable price, warm service and really nice & clean facilities.
