The hostel retains some of its charm, but only thanks to the guests. Management appears to be in transition, and the services offered have been reduced and poorly managed. During my seven-day stay, the reception didn't open on time even once. Events (barbecues, parties, visits to the surrounding) that used to be a feature of the venue are no longer organized, and the cafeteria no longer even serves breakfast. As a traveller who is moving around relying on buses and catching the buses with no schedule, it’s impossible to get into the Hostel because the Germans are coming in their cars Taking up all the places in hostels, if they can afford to hire a Car, they can afford other accommodation and leave youth hostels to proper travellers travelling, not just on their holidays. An awesome place with a great vibe. As most areas are all out in the open, you always feel like you are in the middle of nature and with a fully stocked fridge for drinks as well as a decent kitchen, chilling here during the evening is no problem at all. The hostel is located a bit of a walk from the centre of Plakias and these roads are a bit in rough shape with little lighting. Best place to stay on plakias beach - full kitchen, showers, chill space. Ulli the manager is extremely kind and passionate about Crete and hosting international youth. They clean the hostel every morning, it is always very clean. Cheap as well. My only slightly negative comment would be that because it is a youth hostel it is mainly young travelers that come here. But if the party does go late the manager is nearby to shut it down.

De loin le meilleur hostel de toute la Crète, cet hostel est un vrai petit paradis! Uli est un responsable adorable qui nous a conseillé de nombreuses randonnées. Il nous a amené dans une taverne incroyable où la nourriture traditionnelle était vraiment délicieuse. Le côté intergénérationnel était vraiment génial. De belles rencontres, de beaux souvenirs, merci pour tout!

Ein ganz besonderer Ort, an dem man interessante Leute trifft. Uli der Hostelmanager gibt tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen, aussergewöhnliche Tavernen und versteht es unterschiedliche Menschen zusammen zu bringen. Kümmert sich außergewöhnlich gut um alles.

Ich war im April 2016 mit zwei Kumpels bei Uli im Youth Hostel. Es war sauber, ordentlich und die Stimmung war klasse. Hervorzuheben ist aber vor allem Uli. Er hat uns so viele interessante und teilweise total unbekannte Wanderungen und Strände empfohlen und uns immer ausführlich erklärt, wie wir dort am besten hinkommen. Ich habe schon sehr viele Hostels besucht, aber keines ist auch nur ansatzweise an das hier rangekommen.

Beste hostel waar ik ooit ben geweest. Management is buitengewoon vriendelijk en doet er alles aan om het een paradijs op aarde te maken. Dat laatste is ze gelukt, dit hostel is ongelooflijk mooi en voorzien van alles wat je over een hostel zou dromen.

Un endroit merveilleux ! Franchement le cadre et très reposant et les équipements sont largement suffisants. Vous avez également toutes les informations nécessaires en terme de randonnée et de plages à l’accueil. C’est un endroit hors du temps où vous passerez vos meilleurs moments. Foncez-y !

Wunderschön gelegenes Hostel mit allem, was man braucht. Manager Uli macht das Leben dort sehr angenehm. Daß die meisten Gäste Stammgäste sind, spricht für sich. Gerne wieder!
