City Hostel Bergen

There was dirty/moldy walls and windows. Not nice at all. Chairs also were never washed in the kitchen. And since they were yellow they looked like they were never washed. You could see all dirty hand prints on the back…. Showers were great. Toilets OK. But not wonderfull. Lockers seemed a bit shabby but worked. Tho not sure how secure they were. Worst was I was on a seminar so no time to meet reption hours and no possibility to get a towel. Could’ve been planned better. Or given by check ...

No reception upon arrival at 4pm everything closed and check-in only via text, which I couldn’t receive as a traveler without a local SIM. Had to find someone to call; the emergency staff member was rude when I asked if she could send the check-in details by email, she replied sarcastically, “But you can write as well, right?. Kitchen closes at 9 p.m., so you must return early to cook. Cleanliness also poor — toilets not well maintained. Overall, disappointing experience…

Our room was infested with cockroaches, and there were no staff on site to help us resolve the situation. The reception was also inaccessible with online communication and had very limited availability, as we still have not heard back from them since we have reported our incident a day ago. When we checked out at 9:40am, reception was closed despite signs indicating otherwise. Not what we expected out of our stay at ALL. Would encourage other travellers to exercise caution or stay elsewhere.

There was no way to use the oven, because it stops at 9. Kitchen was really smelly, someone had let fish the whole night on the tables. Personnal was either non existent or very unfriendl,

Bed is creaking so loud, air circulation in room is bad and the window can’t be opened as well, toilet room is dirty and smelly

Everything was super dirty especially the bathroom, no toilet paper, lockers couldn’t be locked without your own lock.

My stay was disappointing. The bathrooms were dirty and clearly not cleaned regularly. The kitchen was poorly equipped and closed at 9pm — not a reasonable schedule for a hostel. I wasn’t informed of this, so when I arrived after 9pm, I couldn’t cook anything of what I bought, which was incredibly frustrating. The receptionist was unhelpful when asked for help about this. Also the dorm door didn’t work properly, we had to let people in all the time and there were no chargers at the top b...

We betaalden € 430 voor twee nachten met 2 personen op kamer met badkamer. Toch wel duur.

Necesitan lavar bien los baños. De ahí en fuera el.hostal bien salvo las camas que son incómodas.

Incredibly noisy room, almost anyone could walk into the hostel as doors were wide open, whilst the rest of the hostel doors were opened by a code.

Good place to stay, but didn’t have a hostel atmosphere. Also every room uses the same “key” so security could’ve been better there. Beds were really comfortable but wish they included privacy curtains

Great hostel for a stay in Bergen! The atmosphere is great, the property is clean and its very well organised.

The hostel's location, entry system, and rooms were all very good. Each bed had its own power outlet and light. However, the beds were a bit wobbly. The bunk beds were somewhat uncomfortable. The kitchen had sufficient equipment and a very nice view. The hostel had many toilets and showers, both separate and shared, so showering and using the toilet was very convenient. There was also a free luggage room where you could leave your bags after check-out.

Great stay at the city hostel Bergen! Clean place, very functional kitchen. Bathrooms and showers were all very clean and worked well. Would come again!

Propre, sûr et bien situé, mais l'accueil est glacial. Le personnel n'est ni disponible ni sympathique. Ce n'est pas une auberge "sociale" pour faire des rencontres, juste un endroit pratique pour dormir en centre-ville.

Great location near transport and the city center. Clean linens, well-maintained washrooms with plenty available, and a secure environment. Spacious kitchen with all essentials, comfortable lounge, and a quiet atmosphere. Easy check-in/out and free luggage storage. Had a great stay, definitely recommend!

Ich habe mich im City Hostel Bergen sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Zimmer bietet ausreichend Platz. Duschen und Toiletten sind sehr sauber und auch die Küche ist sauber und gut ausgestattet.

Schönes Hostel im Stadtzentrum, sehr gut ausgestattete Küche und etwas kleiner Gemeinschaftsbereich. Haben uns im Doppelzimmer wohl gefühlt, war allerdings sehr minimalistisch eingerichtet.

Schönes Hostel. Hat keine/wenig Aktivitäten. Wahr grundsätzlich Sauber. Fühlte mich alleine (als Frau) dort sicher und die Küche ist auch gut ausgestattet. Liegt sehr Zentral und duschen sind super. Betten waren auch gut. Gerne wieder :)

This is definitely the best hostel in Bergen in terms of location, such an easy walk from the train station. Literally less than 5 mins. Everything was very tidy and rooms were comfortable. No real issues except the fact that expect to self check in and navigate yourself as if you arrive anytime after 4pm there won’t be any staff. My only slight problem was the showers don’t have actual dials you have to hold down the button to keep going but in general it’s not much of an inconvenience. N...

Sehr gutes Hostel, wenn man direkt in Bergen in der Innenstadt untergebracht sein möchte! Viele Zimmer und etwas verwirrende Aufteilung im gesamten Stockwerk, aber insgesamt gut ausgestattet und nettes Personal. Einfacher Check in & out via SMS. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Stayed one night and couldn't fault it. Great location, close to the train station and it was very quiet.

It’s worth staying here. I was there in winter; the view from the kitchen was really great 😊. I enjoyed my meal every time I sat there, taking in the view. The place is located in the city, so it’s really easy to walk near the Bergen train station and the Bus station. But when I was there, the elevator was broken, so I had to use the stairs, which was inconvenient for people carrying heavy luggage.
