- I really do not recommend staying at this hotel.We stayed at Believe Surf & Yoga for four nights. In our room, there was no proper blanket. When I asked for one, the woman at reception replied, “That’s the blankets in Costa Rica,” which is simply not true — I had already been traveling around Costa Rica for three weeks before arriving at this hotel and experienced otherwise. dmitted they do not separate laundry because “they wash everything in cold water” and again said “tThe cleaning was very poor, and our bedsheets were not replaced until we specifically asked for it. Additionally, the hotel’s laundry service ruined four items of my clothing. When I reported this, they claimed they take no responsibility and said I shouldn’t have put a new red item in the laundry with other clothes. They also ahat’s how it is in Costa Rica.” Only after I insisted did they agree to refund the $20 I paid for the laundry — nothing more. The staff, overall, were not kind or helpful, except for the cleaning ladies, who were genuinely very sweet. For the same price, you can find much better hotels nearby.

- 1. Almost scammed - We received a message from the official chat with the hotel on Booking, and then received a request from Bulgaria to authorise a payment for 400 EUR. I had to block my card because my data had been compromised for it, and was left without access to my own money during our trip. Luckily I was not travelling alone. When we got to the hotel we explained what happened, thinking (in good faith) that they might have been hacked, considering we had already paid for our stay in advance. However, when we talked to the reception no one even apologised nor did/say anything to address the issue. If I had a hotel and this happened to one of my guests, I would feel sorry (to say the least) and be concerned. They could not care less, which made us feel like they also had something to do with it. This will be reported. 2. Check in - When we arrived we were welcomed in the least cordial way possible. “The check in is at 2pm” - that was it. It was like they were doing us a favour. We waited without being updated, and had to chase the receptionist around the hotel to ask whether the room was ready or not - well after 2pm check in time. Complete lack of competence and costumer service. 3. No water - We had no water for one day, we could not shower nor flush our toilet. We understand there are issues because of the dry season, but the hotel did not explain or tell anyone. Not even a note or a sign (to even ask guests to use water responsibly to avoid this from happening, I might add). We had to talk with other people to understand what was going on. No one at Believe cared enough to inform their own paying guests as to why and for how long they could not shower or use their toilets. Unbelievable. 4. No Wi-Fi - The Wi-Fi was not working properly throughout our three days stay. The electricity got cut off several times too. Do not come here if you need to work. 5.

+ Yoga classes are really good. Really nice pool area.

- Most people that came to this place when I was there, left and booked somewhere else instead after first night. Unclean bathrooms/rooms and staff (mostly guys) just sit around all day in the main area looking depressed and sad. Really kills the atmosphere. Also pretty rude when it comes to helping guests with anything. Just book elsewhere and visit for the yoga (the best part)

- El alojamiento estaba lejos , las habitaciones muy sucias con referente al precio y las fotos que suben ! Cancele la reservación y el personal me dijo que me iba a devolver el dinero pero mintió sobre las políticas del hotel y nunca reembolso el dinero diciéndome que la dueña estaba de viaje y en un periodo establecido se me hacía el reembolso ! Tras que no canceló la reserva y pusieron como si yo me hubiera hospedado con ellos cobrándome un valor que jamás ocupe , la piscinas estaba sucia al igual que las habitaciones , no hay reglas de higiene en el establecimiento .

- Ik ben geëlektrocuteerd.. het water van de douchekop spoot omhoog en ik wilde kijken of ik het kon veranderen. Maar blijkbaar zaten daar open stroomdraden waardoor ik onder stroom werd gezet onder de douche . Werd gemaakt maar daarna durfde ik niet meer te douchen.

- I think they charged me for a night when I wasn't there. Under a slightly different name on my credit card. I was going to stay another night and did not check out but when I did go to renew they said they had rented it but I think they charged me anyway

+ Malheureusement peu de chose … Le déjeuner était très bon, varié et copieux et les cours de yoga super !

- Très peu d’intimité, nous avons eu une chambre à côté de la terrasse principale et du studio ouvert où le yoga était proposé plusieurs fois dans la journée, beaucoup de visibilité dans notre chambre si les volets ouverts. Peu isolée du bruit, réveillé plusieurs fois la nuit car aucun respect avec le quiettime à 10pm. Nous avons eu la malchance d’avoir deux inondations dans la chambre et peu de compréhension d’une personne travaillant à la réception et nous accusant d’avoir mis du papier dans les toilettes alors que nous avions bien respecté cette règle et finalement le problème a été résolue et faute des fortes pluies les jours précédents. Nous avons demandé de changer de chambre dès le premier jours et sur 7 jours aucun changement possible. Malheureusement très déçue de cet établissement… Nous avons pas terminé notre séjour et nous sommes partie au quatrième.

+ El profesor de surf, John, fue extremadamente atento y amigable, fue lo único rescatable de la estancia

- Lamentablemente, mi experiencia en Believe Surf & Yoga fue muy decepcionante, especialmente considerando que hasta ese momento todo nuestro viaje por Costa Rica había sido perfecto. Desde nuestra llegada, la atención fue vaga y poco acogedora. Nadie del equipo del hostal se presentó ni nos ofreció información básica sobre el lugar o recomendaciones, a menos que nosotros lo solicitáramos directamente. La actitud del personal de recepción fue distante y poco servicial durante toda la estadía. El aseo de las habitaciones dejaba mucho que desear: siempre lo realizaban muy tarde y se limitaba prácticamente a hacer la cama y pasar una escoba. Además, la caja fuerte de la habitación no funcionaba, lo que nos generó aún más inseguridad. Otro punto muy frustrante es que las fotos que muestran en su página no reflejan en absoluto la realidad del lugar. Lo que uno se encuentra al llegar dista bastante de lo prometido en línea, lo cual resulta engañoso. En resumen, el hostal no está a la altura ni en servicio, ni en instalaciones, ni en relación precio-calidad. Una verdadera lástima cerrar nuestra ruta por Costa Rica con una experiencia tan nefasta.

- Cuidado! Las clases de surf con ellos son muy caras. En la playa se consigue clases por el mismo precio con profesionales. No merece la pena pagar el alojamiento ya que no te da una ventaja a la hora de surfear. Segundo, la higiene deja mucho que desear. Alguna que otra cucaracha en la habitación. Una de estas estaba muertas y no se retiro por la encargada de la limpieza. Las clases de yoga no las puedo valorar, ya que no quise pagarlas. En otros hoteles/hostales donde me he quedado por el mundo las clases de surf o yoga suelen estar incluidas en el precio de la estancia o muy reducidas en el precio.

- Ich hatte zunächst nicht das Zimmer bekommen, welches ich gebucht habe.

- Er waren regels en een huisregelment dat je moest ondertekenen, toch hield de organisatie zelf zich er niet aan: geen huisdieren toegelaten, toch liepen er vaak honden rond zelfs IN de shala tijdens de yoga sessie, stilte van 22H tot 7H maar 's avonds was er vaak veel lawaai, luid gepraat, ... De dames aan de receptie waren niet bepaald vriendelijk of behulpzaam en lachten nooit waardoor je je niet bepaald welkom voelde. De inkom, het zwembad, de receptie, de shala, ... waren altijd erg proper. De gezamelijke ruimtes van de hostel (keuken, douches, ...) veel minder. Ik kreeg erg het gevoel dat het imago hoog houden belangrijker was dan oprechtheid, vriendelijkheid, respect, ... wat je in een yogaplek wel net zou mogen verwachten. Maar dat was allemaal niet zo erg, tot het volgende gebeurde: Op een nacht werd ik wakker in de gezamelijke slaapzaal en stond er een grote naakte man op 1m van mijn bed te plassen tegen de kast. De vrijwilliger die ook in deze zaal sliep, heeft er goed op gereageerd en de situatie goed afgehandeld. Ik heb die nacht niet meer geslapen omdat ik echt gedegouteerd was en echt niet meer op m'n gemak was in zijn aanwezigheid. Ik verwachtte dat deze klant gevraagd zou worden om het verblijf te verlaten, maar dat gebeurde niet. Ik schrok toen hij er de nacht erna nog was. Ik was absoluut niet op m'n gemak en heb opnieuw amper geslapen. Niemand van het management heeft mij aangesproken om te vragen of ik OK was, of om voor te stellen van kamer te wisselen de volgende nacht. Ik betreur de aanpak van het management enorm.

+ Lugar tranquila, con gente muy amable. Tanto empleados como turistas visitantes. Mucha naturaleza alrededor.

- La verdad que no puedo encontrar que no me gustó.

+ Buenisima ubicación, fácil acceso a la playa, habitación y espacios comunes cómodos, buena atención, posibilidad de hacer yoga en el lugar y de desayunos muy buenos.

- Justo al lado de nuestra habitación y por el camino para llegar a ella, había harto olor a desagüe.

+ Nice pool area

- Lots of bugs near room and some staff a bit off, also didn’t love all the rules and regulations apparent as soon as you step into the room

+ Hôtel très beau et confortable. Séances de yoga dans l'enceinte de l'établissement, c'est très agréable.

- Le personnel n'a pas été très agréable.

- Jeg synes 2 yogatimer kunne være inkludert i prisen. Ellers topp!

- Une journée seulement sans piscine. L'eau était contaminée

+ Das Zimmer war sehr groß und hatte zwei Stücke mit Platz für bis zu 4 Personen. Zudem war auch das Badezimmer ausreichend groß. Der Yoga Unterricht war sehr gut und auch die Pool area schön.

- Das Zimmer hätte etwas sauberer sein können und die Zimmer waren sehr hellhörig. Man hat jedes Wort der Nachbarn gehört. Die Rezeptionistinnen waren leider gar nicht freundlich und hilfsbereit
