The Palm Lodge

Die Zimmer waren sehr spärlich eingerichtet und es lagen noch angefangene Shampoo Tütchen vom Vorgänger rum. Der Preis wurde für die 2. Nacht vor Ort nochmal neu vehandelt, obwohl wir schon online gebucht hatten und wir mussten deutlich mehr zahlen, als hier angegeben, weil anscheinend hier die Preise falsch eingetragen wurden. Die Mitarbeiter konnten teilweise kein Englisch geredet und haben mit Google übersetzter gearbeitet. Der Wäsche Service hat aber wunderbar funktioniert.

The location was great, however the staff were unsure whether we even had a booking as they are new to Hostelworld, they turned a person away behind us as they had overbooked. The bathroom was under maintenance meaning we had to use an en-suite in a different room. You didn’t have a key and could walk in and out of the rooms as you pleased, they did give us a locker for the most valuable items. One of my jackets got stolen that was hanging up on my bed and when I told staff they didn’t help ...

Good hostel. The owner is really nice and will give you a lot of informations about the place. The dorm room didn't lock but I think it was the same in all hostels in Phong Nha. The room was ok, the only thing is that I don't think they cleaned it every day while I was there. Not a very social hostel when I was there but to be fair there weren't a lot of tourist in Phong Nha at this time of year. In all I had a good time there. 😊

Very lovely hostel with such a nice, very helpful and funny staff!! I enjoyed my stay there and had the best eggs from their breakfast menu

Clean, good value place to stay. Bathrooms were very clean and spacious. There is also a pool table and a restaurant on site. Many of the staff do not speak English so all communication is through the owner via WhatsApp or the staff will call him if you are in-person in the reception. I arrived earlier than expected and the owner allowed me to check in at short notice, which was very helpful. It’s located on the Main Street but not much socially happening at the hostel so the bars are nearby

Fijn hostel en lief personeel! Vooral de eigenaar is heel erg lief, hij wilt je graag helpen. Je kan ook een grottentour bij het hostel boeken en die was ook leuk. Aan het hostel moet nog wel redelijk wat gedaan worden, want bepaalde dingen zoals bepaalde de badkamers zijn oud. Verder super fijn hostel op een fijne plek!

Clearly a hostel that has recently opened its doors - there is still a lot of work being done. However, Mr Strong is a keen, knowledgeable (he has been a local tour guide for 10 years) and welcoming host. The beds are large and comfortable, and the breakfast is a real bonus. Overall, a solid choice for the price!

Mr Strong was an amazing host! Facilities so clean and beds were so comfy. 24 hour check in was so handy as my bus arrived very late. Toilets were so clean, showers were hot and the food downstairs was lovely also! Thanks so much

Location is amazing- close to the bus stop. Room was nice and clean and the family having the place was very kind and helpful. I forgot a pair of shorts and Mr.strong was very helpful sending my shorts to Hanoi.😊

We had such a good stay, and all of the staff are very attentive and kind! Perfect location for getting busses! Highly recommend.

I had a good time there. The personal was very helpful, when i fell ill and needed to see a doctor.

Friendly homestay right next to the hip restaurants and bars. Clean rooms and good food. Absolutely recommended as your stay while you explore the surrounding jungle mountains and caves - for which they also organize tours with pickup from the hostel!

Mr Strong was a terrific host, along with his family. Made me feel very welcome and at ease throughout my stay. Was very helpful and attentive when I was booking a paradise and dark cave tour last minute, and the tour he got me on was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again when in Phong Nha

Personnel très accueillant et très serviable ! L'auberge est propre et la literie confortable. Seul bémol, il n'y avait pas d'aération dans ma chambre et pas de fenêtre donnant sur l'extérieur, ce qui fait qu'elle gardait l'humidité

Had a fantastic stay here at the Palm lodge. The owner, Strong, and his family have been some of the most welcoming and kindest hosts I have had here in Vietnam. The dorms are very nice and spacious, and the location is perfect, only a 2 minute walk to Central Backpackers, the social hotspot of Phang Nha, and close to many conpanies where tours are offered. Highly recommend if you want a great time in Phong Nha!

This Hostel was great!! Enjoyed the staff more than anything, Mr strong at reception looked after us, makes you feel welcome. Even came to our room gave us on the house water and a rose for our friend Chloe! Really helpful with information about the tours and has bike rental for only £1.50.
