Finca del Tayrona La Gordita

- Las camas son muy muy incómodas, las habitaciones y la casa estan sucias, los perros de la casa no estaban bien cuidados, la piscina no nos atrevimos ni a usarla, no es un sitio agradable. Almenos las chicas del hostal nos dieron indicaciones sobre transporte cuando se lo pedimos y como nuestra habitación no tenía agua corriente nos cambiaron a otra, pero aún así no nos sentimos nada a gusto en el hospedaje.

- No hay quien lo reciba a uno, después de un rato sale un señor en chanclas y pataloneta, pregunta si uno es el de la reserva y se va y no dice más, la piscina la poca agua que tenía sucia y verde, dure media ahora estando y nadie me atendió no me entrego habitación ni nada.

- Las instalaciones muy deterioradas y abandonadas. Alrededores feos con mal olor .

+ El entorno donde está situado el alojamiento es bonito, durante el día puedes ver animales y disfrutar de la naturaleza.

- La habitación estaba en pésimas condiciones, parecía un cuarto del terror. Las sabanas sucias, un montón de telarañas en el techo, era un horror aquel lugar.

+ L’emplacement, la possibilité de faire une lessive (à la main c’est gratuit)

- Dans un premier temps, la cuisine est particulièrement sale. De plus, nous avons voulons y laisser nos sacs le jour de notre départ pour visiter le parc (sachant nous y sommes restés 2 nuits et que nous lui avons gentiment offert un pancake la veille) et on nous a demandé de payer. Il faut savoir que la patronne s’est permise de manger l’un de nos plats qui était dans le frigo.

+ It was cheap and made for a good story, the turtles (or tortoises) were cool

- Hoping to find a relaxing farm stay… We arrived to a party around the pool, adults drinking, children playing and swimming and running around, seemingly a birthday for family or friends, unfortunately Orna was not there. The music was loud. There was an elderly lady who was seemingly overwhelmed with all the children running around and also seemed surprised at our arrival. After much struggle translating finally showed my partner to a room the first one having people already in it, moved on to another room.. The bed was hard, the aircon was barely sealed to the window. The only tv was in the lounge room with more children watching it. At this point we didn’t feel welcome or like being outside our room. Around 8:30pm someone knocked on the door, Yarley, who was taking the duties of host for the night offered us some dinner we accepted 1 meal realising we had no other option but to walk 30 minutes to shops which may not be open. Did not feel welcome or accommodated at all. Also charged us more for 1 meal than we had expected per previous reviews, which we saw children tending to cooking at one point. The meal was ok but not worth the extra money for chewy meat and rice. The music is still very loud at this point. We returned to our room to attempt relaxing and waiting for the music to stop and people to leave, which didn’t happen until after midnight. The shower had hair in it, the room wasn’t well cleaned or aired out quite stuffy, awoke with terrible sinuses from the sleep and couldn’t wait to leave. The next day there were beer cans littered everywhere outside from the party. Maybe we stayed on the wrong night, didn’t get to try the apparent amazing fresh juice and didn’t get to meet the owners.

+ Personnel gentil et serviable, mais ça ne suffit pas.

- Difficile d'accès. Chambre et installations sommaires. Prévoir de quoi boire. Piscine non utilisable. Photos doivent être mises à jour.

+ Sehr freundliche Besitzerin! Großes Anwesen!

- Sauberkeit der Küche lässt zu wünschen übrig! Sehr laute Klimaanlage im Schlafzimmer.

+ La chica que lo regentaba, Shakira, fue muy amable con nosotros en todo momento, se encuentra en medio de la naturaleza, hay que desplazarse en vehículo con bus para llegar a restaurantes o comercios. Una de las entradas del Tayrona se encuentra cerca, pero es más larga que la habitual. El desayuno que nos preparó Shaira estaba bueno.

- No cumplió con las expectativas, ya que no había red de móvil, no importaba pensando que tendríamos wifi que solo funcionaba cerca de la casa de los dueños, a la habitación no llegaba. La piscina no estaba preparada para el baño, en una de las habitaciones la mosquitera estaba rota y podían entrar hormigas a las camas. Creo que con un retoque de las instalaciones sería un sitio idílico.

+ The owner Orna is incredibly friendly and at the same time not nosy. The pool is great, the room was fine - we shared a room with five people and it was spacious and had a dining table and a private bathroom. The location is great, close to Tayrona Park, and it is easy to get to the Park or to Santa Marta by bus. There were lots of cats (with kittens, the kids were very happy about that!) and turtles.

+ We shared the house with the owner, but had our own room and bathroom, so we had total privacy. The owner, Orna, is one of the most fabulous ladies I have ever met. It was lovely to talk with her and share some time, and she was also super helpful when we asked her about logistical things (how to get to Tayrona, where to order food, what bus to take to Santa Marta, tour recommendations, anything). Although the AC was a bit noisy, it worked perfectly. Also, everything was spotless in our room and bathroom. We didn't have the chance to use the pool, but it seemed incredible! Lastly, you can pay an additional fee if you want Orna to cook you breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which can be very helpful since the house is far from any town.

- The WiFi was a bit unstable, and we didn't have electricity for a brief time one evening. Still, these things are not the owner's responsibility (they depend mainly on the weather). There is no hot water, which is quite normal in the area since the weather is almost always warm and humid, hence this was not a problem for us either.

+ Extremely accommodating and friendly host (thank you Paola!) Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning. Beautiful pool. Kitchen access. Nice setting slightly off the main road. Tasty fruit directly from the Finca. Philosophy of how the place is run (fully sustainable). Could not ask for anything more from a stay - this was the standout experience of our fortnight in Colombia. It may not be a flashy resort, but it has everything and the warmth of the host makes it. We hope to return some day!

+ Sencillamente todo fué perfecto, buscamos con mi novia un ambiente para conectar con la naturaleza y así fué, árboles de mango y mamoncillos que fuimos felices comiendo, una habitación limpia y con un buen colchón cómodo, el ambiente rodeado de árboles, perritos y gaticos amorosos, aves, burritos, todo muy lindo la verdad, Paola una excelente anfitriona que nos ayudó para guiarnos con planes como para prestarnos ayuda en la cocina, siempre nos sentimos muy bien acogidos, nos prestó nevera para guardar parte de nuestros víveres, nos encantó todo e iríamos a hospedarnos nuevamente sin dudarlo.

- Talvez que no haya una tienda cerca, pero hay domicilios tanto de comidas como de víveres en el lugar, personalmente fué mejor irnos en buseta para un supermercado, comprar todo y volver, ya que hay cocina compartida (que es una gran ventaja) y no tener que preocuparse por comprar más cosas.

+ Paola nos atendió super desde el primer momento. Super simpática y acogedora. Lá cama era muy cômoda y dormimos muy bien. El cuarto con baño estaba perfecto.

+ The host (Paola) was amazing, she was in contact and available from before we arrived to the moment we left. She is super friendly and helpful, she organised a moto taxi for us to Tayrona Park and suggested/ordered burgers from a great restaurant near by. She went above and beyond when one of us fell sick, making herbal teas and offering to go to the pharmacist to get medicine. 3 friendly dogs, 3 friendly cats and unlimited mangos to eat from the trees. The room was clean and comfortable and we would recommend anyone to stay here

- Not necessarily a bad thing but worth knowing, there are no shops and restaurants that are easily accessible within walking distance so if you plan on cooking then bring food with you

+ Finca Gordita is a delightful home run by the incredibly friendly and helpful, Juan, who made our visit memorable. We originally booked for a couple of days and then extended to a week. Great value. Our room was simple and comfortable. Juan, let us use his refrigerator and washing machine (for a small fee) and offered us lifts into Calabazo or even Santa Marta when he was going that way. With a large pool, it was a place to easily relax. It’s located about 2 km along the main highway from Calabazo and the western entrance into Tayrona National Park and it set back from the road, from which there's a little traffic noise but it's not intrusive. Staying here was a real pleasure.

+ El lugar es excelente, su ubicacion y paisajes, la pileta, la diversidad de animales, pero por sobre todas las cosas, destaco la gran atencion de sus propietarios, super atentos, los felicito!
