- As a tourist we were ripped off, as the price of the room was 3 times what the room, was worth. Yes, I made the booking and knew the price but when you are shown a photo of a relatively new building with beautiful views out over Lake Tekapo, you picture a twin room with ensuite @ NZ$671 per night as a pretty special room. It was the exact opposite. A tiny tiny room with a mini ensuite and no view, no bathmat, no face cloth , not a shelf in the bathroom or any place whatsoever to put a suitcase. 4 nice coat hangars and the room was very clean. A sign on the window said keep the window shut at night time to keep the insects out.....but no ventilation /air conditioning. As a Kiwi, I was embarassed that the Haka House group were ripping off tourists.

- You can only sleep between 2am-4am as otherwise it’s to noisy and doors are smashed every few minutes. The room for four people is very small that you can hardly stay. Don’t know why everyone rates this as the best hostel but for me it was the worst but most expensive one I’ve ever been. Booked 3 nights but left after one sleepless night and no one cared when I told the staff as it was already paid and they had the money. The bathroom wasn’t really clean and I had more a feeling of being in a sport arena then in kind of a „home“.
+ Location is great and facility itself is fairly clean.
- We had a trouble in the numbers of nights to stay which made us big confusion. Their responses on our request caused by that issue was not polite enough.

- 房間很小、衛生有待加強、介紹上說有冷氣但詢問後才說整棟都沒有冷氣，所以房間非常悶熱（接電話的人非常沒有禮貌）

- 트윈룸인데 방이 너무 좁고 가격이 터무니없이 비싸다. 밤에는 시끄럽고 방음이 전혀 되지 않았다. 식당에 기본적인 재료(오일, 소금, 후추) 등 제공되지 않아 아쉬움.

Really loved my short but sweet stay there. The location was the best, facilities and staff were just awesome - I will definitely return for longer stay.
+ Great location next to bus stops and grocery stores. So nice to have the shared kitchen.

Was on the costlier side of hostels i’ve stayed at and options are limited in Tekapo but it was really lovely! The room was pretty cozy and clean and the common/kitchen areas have an incredible view of the lake. It’s basically on the doorstep and everything you need is walking distance!
+ Location was amazing! Kitchen setup was brilliant for making your own meals! Rooms were very clean and beds were confortable

- Staff could be more friendly but I guess they meet a lot of people
