Hostel Bad Goisern

NEVER BOOK A HOTEL HERE!! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The owner and receptionist is rude. The owner ask me to additional 350 payment while I already booked for 4 nights. I got all the invoice and receipt but he wont let me stay at hotel. I was tired and sick but the owner said “Its your problem” and shout at me, putting his finger on me and asked me to leave. I paid total 1020 euro and I cant stay in this hotel as I should be. SCAM

The owner of this hostel is a very unsettling gentleman, who made me feel unsafe and ill at ease. This was made worse by the two showers and toilets which DO NOT HAVE LOCKS ON THEM, and are non-gendered so not safe for female travellers. Furthermore, a girl I shared a room with told me about her experience with the owner and his son/nephew - she asked them about moving rooms as she had been put in a mixed bed dorm of 6 with only men and she did not feel comfortable. Honestly good thing about the place was the location but there were a bunch of other factors that made my stay a bit uncomfortable. The owner of the place would make uncomfortable comments on women’s safety. Kind of made it seem like an inconvenience for him when brought up how the gender mixed bathrooms and showers have no locks on any of them when being a solo female traveler. I was put in a dorm with only men, when I approached the owner and his son about this, I was shouted at, mocked with inappropriate comments I was then laughed at, and belittled and told I was causing a scene. I was repeatedly shouted at and purposely intimidated. I was spoken to and treated very badly the entirety of my stay. All the girls in the hostel noted how rude the owners were especially to women. El trato ha sido bastante antipático y condescendiente. Además me han cobrado de más (cancelé una noche a tiempo, sin coste, y a la hora de pagar las otras dos noches hicieron las cuentas de manera que me salió más cara la estancia. Por no discutir, acabé pagando). Por lo demás, la estancias son las típicas de un hostel, no demasiado cuidadas, aunque la zona está bien comunicada y es bonita.

Absolutely 100% do not book this! I booked an entire extra day because I was arriving late. I contacted the establishment to let them know. I was on an overnight train and was arriving in the middle of the evening in the freezing cold and at the very least needed into the establishments. I am a woman traveling alone in the middle of the night in the freezing cold in the middle of winter, and the representative of this establishment laughed at me and told me absolutely Not DON’T BOOK!!!

very bad hostel and not comfortable at all, The man who received me was very rude and aggressive, the bed was not comfortable and very small, that was very bad experience

0 stars. They asked me to cancel a confirmed and paid booking done through Booking.com because they don’t have anymore space. instead they asked me for more money for another room. Now i’m supposed to sleep in the woods because of them. Thank you for the help but if you make a mistake you should offer a solution not ask for more money. Stay away from such sammers!

Por una intervención médica no pude viajar y el hostal me dijo que no me podría cambiar la fecha, todos los hostales afectados me dieron la opción de cambiar fecha, excepto hostel badgoisern, pésima atención y disposición, nada comprensivos

Camerele sunt curate și primitoare . In schimb ospitalitatea gazdei este sub nivelul marii . Extrem de arogant și flegmatic , deloc prietenos , nu am primit nici un fel de informație asupra zonei , hotelului etc. Dacă persoana care ne-a întâmpinat deține acest hotel, atunci ar trebui să-și schimbe meseria . Ospitalitatea este cartea de vizita a oricărui spațiu public , aici nu a fost cazul .

Auberge parfaite pour une nuit ou deux. L’accueil y est très chaleureux et l’hôte d’une bienveillance sans nom, prête à vous arranger. La literie n’est pas d’une qualité exceptionnelle mais reste correct pour une auberge. Les accommodations sont aussi de bonne qualité.

Ane ist ein excellenter Gastgeber derich mit seiner liebenswürdigen holländischen Art sehr herzlich und unkompliziert aufgenommen hat. Bad Goisern ist a lieber Ort und uns Eck ist a super leckeres syrisches lokal Danke für die Gastfreundschaft

Great location, clean and friendly

Phòng nghỉ ở lầu 1 (không có thang máy), phòng ổn, sạch sẽ, và chủ nhà vô cùng chu đáo, đã hướng dẫn rất chi tiết cách di chuyển đến Hallstatt và các điểm tham quan khác. Had the most amazing stay here. Location is great, not far from Hallstatt and many beautiful hikes. Nadiia at reception helped me out so much giving me help and advice about my trip. She’s so kind and friendly, thank you!

We rocked up originally a little early to our booking were be grudgingly welcomed by this bloke in the photo who gratefully let us leave our bags in reception. This guy also later barged into our room unannounced while checking a new person in. He turned the lights on and yelled “wakey wake” mind you this was 9:30pm. Never wrote a review- but genuinely my favorite hostel. You are greeted by a sweet dog the moment you arrive, and the hostel has everything you can possibly need and is a great location to Hallstatt. Highly recommend

Great property, and place to stay. Anna (the owner) has just very much a dry sense of humor but I understand why people might not be huge fans of him, he’s knowledgeable and if you get to know him he’s pretty funny

The hostel has a very good location and the rooms are acceptable. However, the attitude of the owner is the worst part of the experience: he is aggressive, unfriendly, and even a bit xenophobic. The floors in the rooms are extremely noisy — every step echoes and you can hear everything between the rooms, so it gets very loud when the hostel is full. On the positive side, the woman who helps at the hostel was the friendliest and most attentive person.

expensive (but everything around there is) but decent hostel to visit hallstatt area from. the owner was a little strange at first but he is pretty chill and nice. people are cool in the hostel too as everyone is there to hike and explore the mountains
