Mar-Mar

The place was dirty, with blood stains on the bottom of my mattress and gross bathrooms. Showerheads were busted so water was spraying from everywhere and the bathroom was perpetually soaked in water. Otherwise, good location and balcony was nice.

First of all the room looks like a prison cell. It only has two bathrooms between I think 20 beds. Kitchen LACKS facility as well. The worst part of my stay is that the owner BROKE MY LOCK AND TOUCHED AND MOVED MY VALUABLES IN MY LOCKER. Her reasoning is that I was using the “wrong locker” although she didn’t advise this information at all. So unless you want to get ur shit stolen and touched DO NOT stay here. Please..

Very dissapointing. The location is good but that’s all. 14 people stuffed in a room, old materials and not clean. The bathroom is old. Also the cleaning comes in at 8 before check-out time. I wasnt one second out of my bed yet and she started to take the sheets off.

I had read somewhere that the owner is the sweetest person, but thats exactly the opposite experience i had, not sure if it was because i am not from italy or what, but he was extreamly rude, unecessarily talking back. The rooms are not great, the location is very goood. Just know if you could find a better place, take that. Also note. There is no AC or fan in the room.

Aucune personne pour nous accueillir. Pas de numéro de téléphone pour contacter l’hôte. Heureusement c’est l’auberge de jeunesse voisine qui m’a précisé que j’étais au bon endroit et un autre locataire qui m’a transmis votre numéro. Pas de nettoyage quotidien des sanitaires. Donc état des douches pas top. Cependant l’emplacement est stratégique à proximité du train.

Llegamos temprano al lugar y estaba muy sucio, la ubicación es genial, pero hay que saber llegar y fue un poco complicado. Me sentí un poco insegura así que decidí irme a otro lugar. No lo recomiendo.

You get what you pay for really The Good The place is clean , the shower is alright and its located close to the station The bad: check in chaotic there is no staff at the location. To our surprise we had to send a whatsapp message to the a woman to get a key from box . No instructions sent prior arrival luckyly there were a girl who was staying at the hostel who told us. If you come in april - prepare to be cold. No extra duvet provided, heating not really working. I slept with my jumper.

Wat zou een hostel moeten zijn behalve een fatsoenlijk bed om in te slapen. Laat dat nou net het probleem zijn hier. Dun doorgelegen matrasje, waardoor ik zelfs heb overwogen om op de bank te gaan slapen. Ik heb geen rug meer over na 2 nachten. Verder op de hostel niets aan te merken. Het was schoon, m’n bed al opgemaakt bij aankomst en er werd zelfs een handdoek ter beschikking gesteld. En dat alles voor 49,- voor 2 nachten. Koopje… behalve dus dat bed. A very simple, but cheap spot locatedin Riomaggiore. Bunk style beds or the windows could really benefit from some curtains, as currently there is no way of stopping the early morning sun from rolling in. Only other issue is the check-in procedure, you HAVE TO contact them via WhatsApp, as the destination is not staffed, this clearly stumps a lot of users who ask for help in the HW group chats. Other than that the beds are great, location is awesome, and it attracts a very social crowd of people

Overall I had a nice time at Mar-Mar. The place was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view. However, check in is a bit confusing. I reccomend getting the owner’s phone number from the group chat and texting her before you get there. I arrived without messaging first, and there was no one around. I ended up meeting her the next day to pay for my stay in cash. Not too difficult, but I could have saved myself some confusion if I had messaged prior to arriving.

Good hostel! I thought the facilities left a bit to be desired and it’s very small. It’s the only real hostel in the area and for that reason totally worth it. Decent price but a little bare bones for a hostel and only two one stall bathrooms for th entire hostel, so not ideal sometimes. Definitely made some friends here and the check in process was very confusing, but this was a good stay for the location

There aren’t many affordable hostel options in the Cinque terra. As this hostel is about the only choice, you are first required to pay in cash (forget about a refund if things go south)- communication with the host wasn’t especially easy - unless you were able to find the international number, she was responsive. Notable issues had to do with heat in the space & hot water - both reliant on a system that seemed to malfunction often. Host wasn’t available to solve issues - only texting dire...

Kleines Hostel, wo man sehr schnell mit den anderen in Kontakt treten kann - es waren alle super lieb. Für die Ankunft im Hostel am besten die Hostel Inhaberin auf WhatsApp anschreiben. Danach erhält man eine ausführliche Beschreibung mit Fotos und Videos. Aufgrund der vielen Ebenen in Riomaggiore war es etwas schwierig die Unterkunft zu finden. tatsächliches "Check-in" gibt es nicht. Es war auch etwas kalt in der Nacht in der Unterkunft. Aber gute Lage! :)

While a bit challenging to find, this hostel is a terrific place to stay when exploring Cinque Terrre. Everything was very clean, with a nice view and very close to the train line, making getting to the different towns super easy. Comfy bed, big locker, provided towel. The only issue I experienced was the windows flying open a couple times throughout the night as there was a big storm and the windows were a bit difficult to secure. Overall, a great place to stay when traveling to Cinque Terre!

Everything was perfect the front door was just very difficult to open.

I went during the off season, it was just me and my friend I was traveling with staying here. So definitely not social at all this time of year. Location is perfect though, many of restaurants are just right out front, close to the station. Everything was clean and kept up with!

VERY difficult to find. i believe the hostel owner had sent a video to all the other guests showing how to get there and what to do, but i didn’t receive that and it was very very confusing. the hostel itself was fine and people were nice and having a balcony was lovely!! super good spot to see all of cinque terre and riomagiorre is gorgeous!

Such a greta location however was confusing navigating to find hostel. Definitely should have been informed to contact the number upon arrival to make it easier, after long day of travel this was stressful!! However the rest of my stay was brilliant, great company, good facilities and clean. I would stay again if I come back.

As stated in other reviews it's more of a group house situation than a hostel. Make sure you ask the chat when booking for the phone number because that's how she tells you to get your key and the way to the hostel (since there is no check in). People are usually super cool and welcoming when you get there and kinda help you figure it out. Amazing hiking (do riomaggiore to volastra to corniglia for free and stop at the winery right along the trail past volastra it's amazing overlooking grapes)

Por cerca uno de los mejores lugares que me he quedado, no lean los comentarios de las camas, o la limpieza o que es difícil encontrarlo, la oportunidad de poder dormir en riomaggiore es la mejor vibra que he podido conseguir en todos los viajes que he tenido, disfruta tu paseo y conoce amigos el sitio es lo menos cuando tienes un pueblo tan hermoso a solo pasos

L’emplacement est très bien. La cuisine est très peu équipée et pas très fonctionnelle. Il manque de rangement pour y mettre un peu de provisions. Il n’y a que deux ronds qui fonctionnent à peine. Une seule poêle pour tout le monde. Pas de linge pour essuyer la vaisselle. Les matelas sont à changer. Le fait que le petit salon est isolé et que la terrasse donne directement dans le dortoir, il est difficile d’être au calme dans ce dernier.
