Wake N Flow, Hiriketiya

I tried to use their laundry service, when I came back 24hrs later my laundry was still sitting where I left it. They tried to lie to me about what happened. The private room was very dirty, up an unswept, poorly built flight of stairs. The door is just plywood that doesn’t even fit together. I didn’t see the staff do anything but lay down on their phones the whole time I was there.

This place would be ok if it were budget priced at < $7 per night but at over $20 per night the quality ridiculously bad. Poor smelling wet mouldy toilets (not enough of them). Very loud beds. Very loud doors that don’t close properly. Dirty sheets (blood and random brown stains). Unclean rooms with random underwear in the corner. Only 1 power socket worked in our room. Redeeming quality was the food which was good (but too spicy for most people).

I had the private room for 1 person, at check in I was told that I could swap as they were worried it wouldn’t meet my expectations but unfortunately I have insomnia and can’t sleep with others in a dorm so private is my only option. It was a really expensive room (over $60 USD per night) and had no mosquito net or hot water. The bed was also really uncomfortable and resulted in me having a bad back and not being able to surf. Unsere Zimmertür war kaputt und ging nicht zu, die Betten haben komplett gequietscht und das Badezimmer war auch nicht sonderlich hygienisch. Die Lage war allerdings gut .

This place didn’t have any of the vibe we were expecting. The staff were pretty unenthusiastic and refused to take card payments. The fan in our room was so dirty that it barely did anything, and we ended up needing to clean it. The private room is up some pretty interesting stairs and the ‘door’ is two pieces of MDF and with a bolt on it. We liked that there was a bar but that was pretty much it. We found somewhere better to stay in the area in the end.

Very over priced. My blanket and bedding smelt of wea and must, just a disgusting smell as if the bedding hadn’t been cleaned. The beds are so so so squeaky to the point you can hear it when you literally move your legs. Hostel isn’t social , there is nothing going on. However they do provide a free towel and it was easy to check in

Beds/rooms are comfortable + clean. However the bathrooms are disgusting almost wanted to clean the bathrooms myself. They need to clean the walls, taps etc. I tried to use the bathroom as little as possible. Free dinner every night which is a bonus (I didn’t try). Quite easy to meet people in the communal areas. Felt like the staff weren’t really sure how to run a hostel. Towels weren’t ready for check in, washing took ages , didn’t have any clothes to wear at night, no staff present fo...

There were no clean blankets for more than five guests one night (at least until 10pm), ended up sleeping without one… Family dinner was actually nice, but staff just put in on the table without saying a word. Overall not a very social place.

Great location. However, not a social hostel at all. It is also not clean. Only stay here if other places are unavailable.. The bed was fine. The power and water got cut off multiple times so it is unreliable.

A standard budget hostel, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but the prices were definitely too high for what you actually got

Great location within walking distance of the beach and shops! We were put in a room opposite side of the road to the main hostel - I think they are currently developing it to expand the space. The staff were friendly and the check in and check out process was smooth. Unfortunately, our bathroom was not cleaned from the previous guests before we went in, however the bedroom was clean with fresh sheets. Overall we still had a positive experience :)

It was a great stay at Hiriketiya, a mix of vibe, I travel solo, and I found good company in the hostel. The staff is very supportive; they also help me arrange a cab to the airport. Overall, a good experience.

Chill hostel with kitchen and many open space. Family dinner every night was a good activity and its free. Staff is ok and ready to help when you ask them otherwise not much bothered.

Super Family Dinner, es gab Probleme und wir mussten in einem Zimmer ohne funktionierende Klimaanlage schlafen. Insgesamt ein bisschen chaotisch aber gut um Leute kennen zu lernen

great hostel to be by Dickwella and Hiriketiya. pretty small but still has space to chill out. rooms were nice but beds were really freaky. could have done with another bathroom but overall it's good value for money. staff were amazing and very friendly

free Family dinner was good, room was nice, full curtains and good aircon. bathrooms quite dirty, often missing toilet paper. customer service was usually good but they lost my bra in the laundry and never even apologised ???

hostels have a great vibe and atmosphere and food. The only small issue is that the staff not good in English, but honestly, that’s not a problem—Google Translate works just fine 😉

very clean and helpful staff. central location, I was looking for quite and chill hostel and this place is perfect for that so if you are looking for social hostel and partying every night, stay at chill vibes. This hostel was pure peace for me after staying previous night in a party hostel where everything was dirty and loud. Would stay again and special thanks to Shashi for sharing some local tips!
