girls were filmed while showering. the owner denied all of it. he claimed he checked the cameras but there are none in the bathroom, or are there??? Weird place. The location was great and the girl at the front desk was the sweetest. but I left earlier I couldn‘t stay there anymore and didn‘t feel comfortable. the owner (the guy) was really agressive

Unfortunately my time here was rather negative. There occurred an incident with a male staff member filming girls through the window of the women’s shower room, and the entire staff and even the hostel owner denied the allegations and left the victims helpless and traumatized. Staff deleted all messages about the incident from the hostel WhatsApp chat, too. I did not feel safe in the hostel and left as soon as possible. Hot water didn’t work in the showers. During my stay, a woman was filmed in the ladies shower room while taking a shower by a staff member. The owner later accused her of lying and threatend her with the police. This is not how you treat a victim. Do not go there.

The owner is rude and has an aggressive attitude towards guests. The location is good and the place is clean. But really not worth giving this guy your money.

DO NOT STAY. Owner is a thief and lier. Overcharged and refused to pay back thedifference. Say they hace laundry and they don't. Weird entry situation (just get keys...) and cold showers.

Casa Amelio is located at a perfect location, the place is easy going and it’s easy to make connections. That’s a pity that some of the staff members are rude and difficult to communicate. The hostel is missing basic services such as hair drier, insulation with the external (it was so freezing in the room), I believe they are still not fully ready to host.

“Janet” from front door KICKED ME OUT of the hostel because I was asking her some thing regarding they didn’t have some one the next day on the door so that anyone on the hostel would have to remain there without the possibility of going out between 7am to 10am. So I was asking how would that work (I needed to go out by 9 but tell her it was ok), and she got FURIOUS saying that I was having a “bad attitude” that I was “contaminating” the hostel and that she was going to call THE PO...

I stayed here twice as a solo female traveler. the first time a female guest warned me that one of the male employees was caught filming her kissing another girl she had met in the hostel. Because I liked the location and vibe of the guests I returned a few weeks later. This same employee was caught filming women in the WOMENS ONLY SHOWER. He deleted our messages in the Whatsapp chat warning the other guests. If you are a woman or a queer person this is an unsafe place for you. Disappointing.

Not ready to open. This hostel is in a great location, but the hostels systems are not up to scratch. They kept double booking beds and telling people they needed to found accommodation elsewhere at last minute. The security was also quite poor and relied on waiting outside until a doorman saw you and would just let you in with no verification

Sehr gute Lage, entspannte und schöne Aufenthaltsräume und Coworkingspaces. Alles sauber! In meinem Aufenthalt sehr social und nett. Würde immer wieder kommen. Einzige Anmerkung dass quasi keine Küchenausstattung (Teller, Besteck) vorhanden ist.

Tolle Unterkunft, habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist top, man kann Bus und Metro schnell erreichen.

I didn’t feel like it was too clean. It was cute , but it was not well described how the rooms are so far from the actual bathroom. It was really loud at nights . The location was amazing, that’s why I decided to stay .

Good location but that’s it. This place gives free beers and discounts for 10/10 reviews so real rating is wrong. Booked a 6 bed dorm and was put in a 12 bed room. Water ran out in the bathroom twice in 3 days (normal in small towns but not in CDMX). Staff really don’t care about the place. Has a lot of potential but really poorly ran.

we had a great stay at casa amelio. We were able to book it in person with short notice multiple times and Hugo even gave us a tour. The hostel is spacios and the beds are some of the most comfortable we’ve encountered. Victor is a friendly doorman, benito is really chill and even lent us a bag to do laundry. We got lots of great reccomendations from staff and fellow travelers while we stayed there. Thank you Casa Amelio!
