Beware! Bed bugs in dorm bed number 1 (mango dorm). Place is in a great location but not backpacker friendly as no kitchen and food and drinks are expensive but generally tasty. Dorm does not lock and is not clean

Staff was useless for solving inconveniences , the dorm was hot in extreme like a sauna and full of cockroach’s

Hotel took a 'holding deposit' of $98 upon booking which was not described in the booking process. I get it incase I didn't arrive however on arrival I paid the full amount for my stay and they refused to return my money until after check out. They then said as I checked out over a weekend the bank would take 3-5 days to return my money. The hotel obviously does this to everyone to hold on to money that isn't theirs in their account for longer. I could go on about this place but island is love...

Het is geen hostel voor backpackers. Er heerst totaal geen sfeer en weinig sociaal contact. Een welkomstdrankje zou een goed idee zijn. Het lijkt meer een resort voor stellen. Er zijn ligbedden op het strand en iedereen legt zijn handdoek al op een bedje en gaat daarna ontbijten. Oftewel geen bedje meer vrij als je zelf niet zo bent:). Het personeel in de bediening is niet echt aardig. De dorm lag compleet vol zand, kan me niet voorstellen van 1 dag.

We were really disappointed! Not worth the price! In itself the comfortable rooms are cute amongst the trees/jungles. However, the outdoor area was very very small. Far too few beach chairs for everyone. The cushions also not so nice anymore. Also, NO hammocks as seen in the pictures. One of the two swings was broken the whole time. Good Hotel :)

It is beautiful and the beach access is amazing however it is pretty remote and doesn’t have a kitchen which we knew. Had all of our meals at the lodge. After the first night my friend started feeling sick after her dinner then the following day I did to. Given that we had to eat at the lodge we are pretty sure we got sick from that. Contacted them and explained as no one else was sick that it wasn’t them which was very frustrating as we were really sick for three days will spare the details...

It‘s a great hostel in general. Rooms are very clean and the staff at the reception is incredible friendly. But the construction site is extremely noise, the bathrooms are dirty and staff in the restaurant/bar is really unfriendly. I would not pay the high price for a hostel like this again.

Hatte dort einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt, die Anlage ist wunderschön, das Personal sehr freundlich und die Stimmung war trotz der luxuriösen Ausstattung sehr entspannt. Sehr zu empfehlen wenn man sich etwas gönnen will.

Die Palmar Beach Lodge ist eigentlich ein Hotel, bietet mit den beiden Dorms aber auch eine Übernächtungsoption für den Backpacker Geldbeutel. Die Anlage ist super schön und sauber. Die Lage direkt am Red Frog Beach ist traumhaft und der Poolbereich bietet ebenfalls einen wunderbaren Ausblick. Der 8-Bett Dorm war sehr schön und gut klimatisiert. Da es außenrum kaum andere Optionen gibt, essen eigentlich alle im Restaurant dort, das allerdings etwas teurer ist.

Se siente más como un resort que como un hostal. Increíbles instalaciones. Solo diría que fuera del alojamiento no hay mucho que hacer ni restaurantes, la única opción de comida es en el mismo hotel.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft mit tollem Urlaubsfeeling. Die Dorms waren gros genug und es gab ausreichend Toiletten und Duschen. Leider war es relativ feucht in den Dorms und roch auch ein bisschen nach Schimmel, wir haben jedoch keinen gesehen. Die Preise im Restaurant waren nicht günstig.

Die Anlage ist super schön gepflegt und sauber, man kann total relaxen. Der 8 Bett Dorm ist besonders schön, ich war noch nie in so einem tollen Dorm. Der Service und die Mitarbeiter waren eher mäßig bis unfreundlich und langsam. Das Wlan im Zimmer ist nicht so toll. Als ich abends alleine durch den Wald gehen musste um zurück ins Hotel zu kommen, fühlte ich mich unsicher, es wäre super wenn mehr Sicherheitspersonal anwesend wäre 24/7

A bit expensive compared to most hostels but you 100% get what you pay for. I was planning on staying 2 nights but it turned into 4. It might be worth booking the stay with the hotel directly though instead of Hostelworld.

Really nice but have to buy food from the restaurant which is quite expensive.

Nice place, beautiful beach and pool area. The food was a bit pricey with not much option elsewhere.

Really beautiful place to stay! Absolute bargain what you get for the price of a dorm room. Only negatives are that there could be more sun loungers (especially by the pool), and that the wifi only worked in the social areas, and didn’t work in the dorm room at all. Also it is totally remote so bring snacks if you don’t plan on venturing out often!

Amazing location and honestly the best dorm I’ve ever stayed in! Each bed has its own light, fan, window, and curtains, plus the dorm has a private bathroom with two toilets and two showers. But the staff wasn’t very welcoming. I wasn’t given any information or the welcome drink others received. Daily events were canceled, and since the area is secluded, there wasn’t much else to do. I stayed in the dorms and the bunks were the nicest ive ever seen. however the bed did not have much padding over the springs so after the 3rd night i was in a lot of pain trying to find a comfortable position to sleep.

This is one of the nicest hostels I stayed at in Central America. Not very social, but otherwise everything was great. I actually stayed here after staying Bambuda and prefer here. It’s so cheap for how nice it is, and the location right on the beach is unbeatable. Carrying my luggage from the dock was a struggle the first time, especially since I had a broken collarbone, but when I checked out, someone helped me carry my bags, which was amazing.

This was more a resort than a hostel. I absolutely loved my stay! It felt like a little luxury getaway. Very clean, nice staff and lots of activities that were organized.

Das schönste Hostel in dem ich je übernachtet habe! Die Dorms sind gut durchdacht und gepflegt. Die kostenlose Yogastunde hat Spaß gemacht und das Essen war (wenn auch nicht ganz billig) super lecker! Der Wäscheservice war flott und obwohl es kein klassisches Hostel ist sondern eher eine Art Resort habe ich als alleine reisende Frau durch Angebote wie die Welcome-Drinks schnell Kontakte geknüpft. Absolute Empfehlung!

Tolle Unterkunft und Luxus pur! Zimmer (Dorm) ist genau wie auf dem Fotos und modern und einfach wow! Es werden Aktivitäten angeboten (Lagerfeuer, Livemusik) und das Personal ist super nett. Essen ist lecker, wenn auch etwas teurer. Komme wieder!!

I really liked the stay there and it was one of the best hostels during my trip but there were instructions all the time which ruined the chill atmosphere. and my dorm had a really strong smell of something which also went into my clothes and everything and didn’t go out until i washed them again. but other than that i really liked the hostel, the stuff is great and it’s as clean as you can keep a place full of sand
