In summary: - Extremely poorly located - Demands payment of a tax that is not mentioned anywhere - No access to the kitchen - No common area to meet other guests - Claims to be doing you a favor by offering a private room instead of the dorm, only to then demand full payment - Takes the room key without asking - Gets the checkout date wrong and enters without knocking, telling you to leave immediately - Shows up at midnight in your room without knocking to demand immediate payment (even though
the rooms were not even cleaned a single day I stayed there. no garbage cleaned up or anything. the man said to drink water from a washbasin so no water dispenser available. no kitchen access he expected to use an electric kettle in the room when there was no glass or plate. the heaters was closed to non functional so you are left to sleep in a cold room. don't stay.
We didn’t find the dorm room clean. The toilets were not cleaned, while we were there even though we were 12 people using them. The host was very kind though, very eager to help and arrange things to see in the city
decent hostel. bedbugs!
Decent hostel, but no bedsheets…
Non male ma c'è di meglio
It is a shame because the property is great and the family who lives there is nice. My problem is the old man who works there is extremely rude to everyone and constantly is trying to get more money from everybody. I have heard this experience from many travelers here and also from some female travelers that he made some very uncomfortable remarks towards them. If he is working, it is not worth the hassle of staying here. That said, his son and daughter are extremely kind and helpful.
The hostel is located outside of the city center, but taking a Yandex taxi is very cheap. During our three-night stay, the bathrooms were not cleaned at all, and toilet paper was sometimes missing. There were no pillowcases or sheets for the fleece blankets. The atmosphere was good, and the guests were kind, but there was no social vibe.
I like the place but the staff asked me for additional charge. He said it was for the tax but he did not elaborate further. Also, the staff spoke little bit English and there was no reception desk so I could not ask if I needed anything, even to check-out. For checking-in, they used a cctv and if you ring the bell, there will be someone coming by car to open the gate for you which seems weird for me
The stuff was helpful (when around). Location is a bit far away from everything but taking a taxi is very cheap and walking to the main spots is also possible. I met some nice people there and had a good time. Thanks for the stay :)

The hospitality here is on the highest level.A special thanks to the owner’s son, Abdul-Aziz, who was incredibly kind and helpful. Great hostel. Clean, helpful host, recommended :)
My stay at Colibri Traditional Hostel was truly wonderful. The atmosphere blends authentic local charm with modern comfort, creating a warm and relaxing environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any request. The rooms were clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the peaceful courtyard and welcoming social vibe. It felt less like a hostel and more like a home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
Je recommande vivement cet hostel si vous souhaitez visiter Samarcande !! Le personnel est très accueillant et se montre toujours disponible ! Merci pour ce séjour
Abduaziz and his family are very welcoming. Abduaziz will help you finding the best places to visit. I highly recommend this place. There is no kitchen but you can ask for hot water.
very friendly and helpful hosts. 10/10

I was staying at the Colibri Hostel for two nights and i would definitely do it again! The host and his father are very nice people and helped me a lot. I felt very comfortable and could always ask Asis (the host) if there was any question. The dormitory and bathroom were clean and the hostel is very close to shops and a bus station. I would recommend to come here, you won’t regret it!
Semerkand şehrinin dokusuna uygun mimarisi kendinisi konaklama yaparkende Semerkand’da hissedeceksiniz. Aynı zamanda tesis temizliği gerçekten çok iyiydi. Abdülaziz mükemmel bir insan her konuda size yardımcı olacaktır.
Everything was Perfect, Highway recommend. They Even braught me some local plov..:)

best hostel in Samarkand. owner and familfamily are super helpful. beds are clean and barhroom is good
ottima posizione, molto gentili, disponibili, struttura famigliare, tutti gentilissimi e ospitali
The best in Samarkand! Great place to meet people, but definitely not a party hostel (good balance). Big thanks to Mustafa and his mother for their kind hospitality and welcoming nature :))
