Mariandes Hostel

Zwei Einzelbetten waren ein Doppelbett und ein Hochbett. Handtücher gab's nur auf Nachfrage. Zum Frühstück gab es 3 Tage lang Brötchen und Bananen. Der sonst höhere Zimmerpreis musste von hostelworld nachgewiesen werden und der angezahlte Betrag wurde einfach ignoriert. Außer der Aussicht war das hostal durchschnittlich und die Zimmer klein.

Worste hostel i stayed during my whole travelling. to keep it short, never toiletpaper, beds from guests that left weren't made for days, bathroom you can use when you checked out is disgusting, when i arrived they let me 45 minutes wait outside with 0 degrees (i asked if i can get in the common area at 6am the day before), allan was never at the reception, 24 hours reception is a lie, information for tours you get barely and to late, you need to plan your time like allan (he also is laywer)

An interesting stay - wouldn’t recommend. The reviews re the owner being overly pushy are true. He even cancelled a tour by knocking on our door at 11pm despite the tour being due to start at 5am the next morning. Lots of false promises and not entirely sure his details re the hikes are accurate. There are lots of beautiful walks in Huaraz and it’s worth the visit, but I’d advise staying elsewhere. Room not clean and shower dirty.

Initially I was very pleased with the hostel as the owner kindly let us check in early after our night bus. Unfortunately the room was not up to standard. The sheets were extremely worn and not fit for use. The shower drain was blocked so every time we used it we would end up standing in an inch of water. The owner was extremely helpful in providing info on tours, calling taxis etc and he was very friendly even remembered our names after the first day. We were also overcharged.

The dorms are VERY dirty! During my stay the bathroom has not been cleaned once. Therefore, I decided to move.

The host was quite pushy in wanting us to join his organized tours. It is ok to promote your side activity, but we were there to rent a room, not to take part to activities. When he knew that we booked through another agency he looked upset and he said he would have offered a tour for less. Not professional. Moreover, the breakfast was included, but when we showed up half an hour before the end of it and there was no bread, the host looked upset at us asking for some.

I was pretty disappointed with my stay at Mariandes. I left a day early. The bathroom in the room was filthy, as was the bathroom in the kitchen and lobby. I saw the Cleaner mopping the stairs twice, perhaps more time could be spent in the bathroom. 6 bed dorm was very small with limited storage. The owner had left for several days and left a volunteer in charge all day, pretty unfair if you're not getting paid. No system for food labelling in kitchen. Very unorganised and dirty.

if you want to be grilled about what you are doing in town and the tours you didn't book though them, this is that hostel for you. the owner kept on asking us about the tours and telling us we paid too much while also asking to inspect our bags. breakfast was a bag of stale bread, a empty jar of jam and a slab of butter. the kitchen needs to be cleaned as it has old food just laying around. the pros, hot water, clean rooms and quiet.

Unser Aufenthalt war insgesamt schön – die Zimmer waren sauber, die Aussicht toll und das Frühstück gut. Leider gab es vier Tage Probleme mit dem Wasser. Das kann passieren, aber der Umgang damit wirkte abwimmelnd. Als Entschädigung bekamen wir einen kleinen Rabatt. Der Besitzer versuchte oft, uns eigene Touren zu verkaufen, während er andere schlechtredete. Der Mülleimer im Bad wurde eine Woche nicht geleert. Mit kleinen Verbesserungen hätte das Hostel viel Potenzial.

Decent cheap rooms, all the “free breakfast” was bread, butter and jam which isn’t really a breakfast at all. Wouldn’t book tours through the hostel either as you just end up being on tours with Peruvian people and the tour guides barely speak English.

A fantastic base during my time in Huaraz. Alan is a top guy who will guide you and help you organise all the hikes and tours that you need from Huaraz. The hostel is super clean with hot showers and has a great top level area to chill with a panoramic view of the city. Alan was more than happy to help store bags and let you use the facilities after checkout. I appreciate that!

Amazing hostel with a super warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms and beds were clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing, and the balcony had an incredible view. The rooftop was one of the highlights, with instruments, a cozy coffee bar, and a great social vibe. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, helping organize attractions directly from the hostel, and both the team and the guests made the whole place feel friendly and hospitable. Definitely a place I’d happily stay at again.

A really nice hostel, staff helpful and friendly especially with booking all the treks/ hiring gear etc. Kept clean and with a well equipped kitchen, would highly recommend to anybody.

Top accomodatie, de eigenaar geeft goede tips over de activiteiten die er te doen zijn in de omgeving. Ik heb hier de Santa Cruz en Huayhuash trek geboekt, beide waren fantastisch en zeer goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. De kamers zijn schoon en netjes.

Amazing stay! The views are absolutely stunning, the beds are super comfy, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They also make it really easy to book treks, which is a huge plus. Highly recommend.

Alan is more than a host he is like a bro , helping with everything.. saved my day with quick solution for tours ; the host have amazing view from the roof top highly recommended.. few minutes from the main plaza Thank you Alan for everything! See you next time

Amazing stay! Alan and the staff go way out of the way to make you feel at home, the vibe is great, hostel is safe, clean and fun. Highly recommend as a base for Huaraz adventures!

We were surprised at how good the hostel was, very clean, friendly, great facilities, hot water for showers and comfy warm beds. Alan the owner, was so friendly and helpful, we booked all activities through him and we got great prices. I would recommend and would definitely come back. Great value for money.

I loved my stay here mostly doing hikes around the area. I got really good help from Allan to book the hikes and the staff overall are so nice!! Great kitchen area as well! Thanks for a great stay Mariandes!

It has a nice common area and is right in the city center. The staff is very friendly and helpfull regardingany questions one might have. Plus they offer different day excursions with a fair price.

Such a lovely place with a really friendly atmosphere! Alan was so helpful and helped us book all of all of our tours and gave us suggestions of what to when we were bored! Overall an amazing experience - we didn’t want to leave

El hostel es un lugar increíble, Alan es super amable y tiene una buena onda muy cool. Nosotros agarramos habitación privada y cumplió con todas nuestras expectativas, una calidad claramente superior a la competencia local en ese precio. Los espacios como la cocina y la terraza están geniales, super lindos y luminosos. Alan escucho atentamente las menores sugerencias y tuvo gestos super amables con nosotros ¿Mariandes? Un must go.

We had an overall good stay here, the location is very close to stores and restaurants and central Huaraz where collectivos leave for hiking trailheads. However, this also means it’s very loud, there were lots of loud barking dogs which would wake me up sometimes several times each night. There was also a baby crying loudly a few times most days we were there. Also sometimes fireworks were going off around the place late at night. Without these things the stay would have been excellent. 🙏�...

The stay was perfect had a wicked time met some good people did some activities organised through the hostel and all went seamlessly
