- I was quite surprised by the condition of the kitchen at the time of check-in, as it was very dirty. The shared refrigerator was also not clean, which was disappointing. In addition, the shared toilet and shower for private rooms were very small and could not be described as clean. My room was located next to the lobby, and conversations there continued late into the night, making it quite noisy and difficult to rest. It also takes more than 20 minutes on foot to reach Mount Phousi, which makes the location rather inconvenient. Overall, this property may not be suitable for travelers who prefer to relax and spend time comfortably in the city.
+ Possibilité de faire une machine gratuite. Rideau, prise électrique et lumière individuelle. Situé dans une zone relativement calme. Le gérant est vraiment adorable. Prix imbattable. Les parties communes sont agréables surtout la terrasse.
- Pas de casier avec locker pour garder des affaires en sécurité. J’ai eu un autre lit que celui qui m’était attribué car quelqu’un avait changé de lit sans le signaler, et évidemment j’ai hérité du seul lit qui n’avait pas d’escalier pour monter du coup c’était une vraie galère. 12 personnes dans le dortoir, ce n’était pas mentionné sur booking. Pas bien situé, à 20 min à pied du centre ville minimum en fonction d’où vous souhaitez aller, et il faut traverser un pont en mauvais état. Le petit déjeuner inclus consiste en une crêpe au chocolat, clairement pas suffisant pour appeler ça un petit déjeuner. Les douches sont très inconfortables car le sol est constitué de cailloux/galets, pensez à prendre des tongs. Beaucoup de bruit dans le dortoir en général, surtout venant de la porte qui fait énormément de bruit.

+ La situation
- Le petit déjeuner frugal, le confort simple
+ beautiful building, pleasantly away from the touristic epicentre. Friendly pre-arrival communication and greeting. Great areas to sit around, both a larger communal area with a view and a comfortable sofa in the entrance hall. A scruffy garden has the potential to be beautiful.
- The 12 person dormitory itself was not well designed for a good night sleep. The door did not fit its frame, so does not close properly and the hinges squeak. I asked for the hinges to be oiled (2 minute job) but it did not get done during my stay. 12 people going in and out of a room at various times during the night...squeak, squeak, squeak, bang , bang...fairly fundamental to get fixed. The privacy curtains around each bed are thin white material, impotent against any amount of light. Again 12 x people with varying amounts of courtesy turning on and off main light, overly bright individual bed lights or even headtorch...sleep depriving. Lots of unused, wasted space in the dorm but no security lockers. Nothing for personal items or hanging clothes or towels except a dirty window sill I cleaned myself. Shower didn't get above lukewarm. Showered when the sun was high otherwise very cold.

- Nous sommes passés via l’hébergeant pour la réservation d’un transport à destination de Nong Khiaw, à déconseiller ( 1 heure de retard pour le pickup, transport de 5 heures dans un vieux bus non climatisé et surchargé…….! )

+ A 30 minutes à pieds du centre de Luang Prabang. Quartier calme avec quelques commerces à 5 minutes à pieds. Lits en dortoir confortables. On a annulé une nuit au dernier moment et on a quand meme ete remboursées donc tres appreciable !
- Le manque de choix au petit dejeuner, quasiment toujours du porridge donc si on aime pas le riz au lait il faut petit dejeuner ailleurs ...

+ Personnel au top. Chambre très propre. Emplacement idéal.
This hostel is very good value. It does a good job of being social without being a party hostel, which the free family dinners help with. The staff are very helpful as well, and the breakfast is actually good quality, it’s much more than toast with jam. I wouldn’t let the lack of reviews scare you off.
+ Thank you very much for the wonderful time I had at Casa Verde🫶 The hosts Lou and Alan are very Kind, welcoming and the Breakfast was Perfect for me :) Also a big thanks to the Amazing People I met from France, Japan, Kenya and England, I wish you just the Best! I would really recommend this hostel when you are looking for a cozy, community building and chill Place for your stay in Luang Prabang !

+ Me gusta el lugar. Tranquiloo, limpio y tiene una vista hermosa mas bien en el atardecer, puedes usar la cocina. los anfitriones son super amables!

+ Très bon accueil, possibilité de réserver des bus ainsi que des activités, dortoir propre et calme, extérieur très sympa pour se reposer ou discuter, petit-déjeuner parfait, bref je recommande à 100%.

+ I stayed one month at Casa Verde, and it’s honestly one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. This place has a real soul. It’s not just accommodation, it’s something built over time with guests’ feedback, and it keeps improving. What truly makes it special is the atmosphere. There’s a strong sense of community, almost like a family. You arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. They even organise weekly family dinners, which really bring everyone together and make the experience even more unique. Alan and Lou, the owners, are amazing people. They are kind, inspiring, and always great to talk to. I learned so much from them. The rooms are also really spacious, well furnished, and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable, with good curtains for privacy, lockers, and even a sink in the room. Breakfast is a real highlight, freshly prepared every day by Alan and Lou, with different options like avocado toast, porridge, or pancakes. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, this is it. Highly recommended.

Such a cool hostel, really friendly staff, social atmosphere on the terrace, and delicious breakfast!
+ we initially booked 3 nights here and that turned into 8, and that seems to be an incredibly common theme for guests here. super comfy beds, room a great temperature, everything lovely and clean, the varied breakfast was amazing (so nice to have something different and delicious every day), great having somewhere to fill up water bottles and make tea and coffees whenever. the common space was wonderful and felt so homely, and the atmosphere encouraged in the hostel is also very homely- and everyone staying there is really sound and respectful because of this. it’s the best hostel we’ve ever stayed in, between the place and the atmosphere , it’s the first time i’ve really felt sad to leave a hostel! location also great. cannot recommend this place enough

+ Great location. Excellent view..Across the river from the main town, but quiet with a great view of the stupa and a nearby ferry to shuttle you over the river to town. Staff is friendly and speak excellent English. And it has bathtub!
- It would be nice to have a mini fridge and a kettle in the room as well.as some way to hang.up clothes.
+ Lovely hostel, lovely staff and breakfast. The staff go above and beyond to create a welcoming environment. Boat or bridge nearby to cross to main area.
Amazing place! The common area was very relaxed but also easy to talk to people. The people who worked there were helpful with booking my train ticket to Vang Vieng and booking a van. The beds were very comfortable. One of the loveliest hostels I’ve been to so far.
+ Beautiful, historical house just over the bridge from the main area in Luang Prabang. Lou, one of the owners, is welcoming and nice. Breakfast offered every morning is different everyday and delicious. We had a private room and it was very comfortable and clean. We loved the communal area and the views.
