Happy Surf Hostel

ACHTUNG BETTWANZEN! Ich rate dringend davon ab, dieses Hostel zu buchen. Es riecht unangenehm und im Flur ist ein starker Toilettengeruch. Noch schlimmer sind die Bettwanzen. Die Besitzer fanden welche in unserem Bett und auch Eier, welche sich durch mangelnde Hygiene weiter verbreitet haben (eine andere Reisende aus dem hostel hat sie jetzt auch) . Der Besitzer war nicht grade überrascht. Wir bekamen nur für die letzte Nacht refund in der wir das Hostel verlassen haben, für den Rest nicht.

TERRIBLE experience there. I guy who works there, his name is Mohamed, used to smoke weed everywhere and put the music on his speaker so loud we couldn’t hear each other when chilling in the rooftop. One night we were all having fun and chilling there, he came and told me I wasn’t supposed to be there because I didn’t do the dishes, WTF. Don’t stay here unless you love the smell of waste wafting through your bedroom 24/7. It stinks there is no ventilation. Overall the beds are comfortable and the showers have hot water but that’s about the best I can say about this hostel, it was overpriced relative to others in the area and it’s located at the top of a hill. Breakfast was average.

Nice rooftop and breakfast, great to connect. Good beds. However some of the staff seem quite unfriendly and there are weird rules like not being allowed to use the kitchen in the evening. No possibility to leave your luggage or stay in the hostel as soon as you‘ve checked out. In general they are pretty strict. Also there were cat droppings and other smells in the showers.

The hostel was fine… but the beds were quite uncomfy, only 1 pillow and no towels. The shower outside our room flooded every time and I almost flooded our neighbours room without realising! Breakfast at 9.30 was quite late and no other access to coffee without going down into town.

Es ist ein gutes Hostel für ein 1-2 Nächte, jedoch nichts für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Die Fotos der Zimmer sind deutlich schöner als in echt. Das Frühstück war während unserem Aufenthalt nicht schön, da man sich zu dritt oder viert ein Omelett teilen musste und man auf Nachfrage kein weiteres bekommen hat.

The crew was nice and the rooftop was lovely. However the hostel was not clean at all. The hallway smelled weird, our shower wasn’t really clean and had quite some mold on the walls (and in the dresser). There was lipstick of someone on the wall of the bathroom. Kitchen in the common area wasn’t too clean either. I also ended up having bed bugs which made the last few days of our stay physically very unpleasant :(

Tolle Gemeinschaftsräume, ansonsten eher mittelmäßig. Die Zimmer sind viel zu warm in der Nacht und das Personal ist passiv aggressiv bei jeder Nachfrage. Außerdem ist das Türschloss mit Code anscheinend nur Deko, da es nicht funktioniert und überhaupt nicht mit dem Schloss verbunden ist. Hätte ich abends nicht meine Freunde aus dem Bett geklingelt, hätte ich auf der Straße schlafen können. Hostel hat echt Potential aber kann noch einiges gemacht werden…

But the private dorms was a bit noisy, because the wall is really thin and next to the bathroom, so you can hear other people walking the hallway, talking etc. Great for surfing and meeting travellers on the rooftop, but if u are a light sleeper maybe go for something else. But for the price it was fine.

Wir hatten in den 3 Tagen die wir dort waren wirklich die beste Zeit. Leider hatten wir keine Zeit mehr zu verlängern, sonst wären wir gerne länger geblieben. Durch das gemeinsame Frühstück lernt man schnell andere Reisende kennen und kann dann abends auf der rooftop Terrasse zusammen den Abend genießen. Lage ist super, man kann sowohl Strand, als auch Stadt und Restaurants in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichen. Das Personal ist jederzeit für einen da. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

I really liked this hostel! Super social and everyone was really friendly. The free breakfast in the morning was great for meeting everyone as it was all around one big table together. Mostly clean, only complaint is that you could fully see through the window/door on the top half of the showers, was a bit weird as you could literally see in from the hall when someone was showering, I just covered it with my towel though and it was fine

Had a really fun time at happy surf hostel! It’s a super social hostel with breakfast with everyone and a nice rooftop to chill at and meet new people. The hostel is organized and clean. Really loved it here!

Insgesamt war das Hostel in Ordnung. Die Deluxe Zimmer sind gut, aber die Standard Zimmer befinden sich genau zwischen Toilette und Duschen und haben kein Fenster… Außerdem ist es ziemlich laut und hellhörig, da es keine Türen zum Treppenhaus gibt.

Everything from check-in till check-out went very smooth. Breakfast was nice and bed comfortable. Good value for money. :)

amazing breakfast and a really nice terrace/chill out area. lots of people staying there, seemed like a good social vibe and place to meet people - although i only stayed one night. bathrooms were solid but nothing special

The hostel is great. Staff is great. Some rooms don’t have the windows but it’s a hostel, you have to adapt.

I had a great time at the Happy Surf Hostel 🙌🏽 The hostel is clean and the staff are the best. Mehdi and Badr are always there when you need something and made my stay unforgettable :)

Great hostel in Taghazout. Surf lessons organised with a local surf shop for a good deal, staff were great. Dorms pretty basic but clean.

We stayed with Happy Surf Hostel for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. The hostel is perfectly located, close to everything we needed during our stay in Taghazout, the staff is so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is very good. Would highly recommend this place:)

Sehr Freundliches Personal mit super Lage in der nähe vom Zentrum. Sehr herzliches Frühstück mit familiärem Feeling. Zimmer gut ausgestattet, der Wasserhahn teils etwas undicht.

It was the best hostel ever! Badr was super nice and could always help me with everything. The location is great and you can even go for a surfing class or go on an excursion like Sandboarding. The breakfast was free and super delicious. The hostel was also super social since there was a nice rooftop where you could sit in the sun and relax and chat. Also the breakfast was with all the other people who stayed at the hostel which made it very social as well. Everything was very clean!
