Looming Hostel

A hostel with nice vibe and a lovely team but unfortunately has a bed bug issue. The team allowed me to move beds on the second night but I got covered in bites across my face and neck on both nights I was there. Multiple bites near my eye causes it to swell for nearly 4 days. If they sort this issue it’ll be a nice, easy-going hostel but until then, I wouldn’t recommend.

Honestly great place, nice people, not far from the station or city centre. But the place is infested with bed bugs. Got 10+ bites on my first night and after switching rooms and notifying the staff. More bites on my second night... I am covered in bites and nothing can make up for that

It is a decent hostel but it does look a bit run-down. The female dorm can’t be locked and they don’t have an age limit so there might be older people there. The hostel was not really social when I was there in summer. The location is quite far from the centre but close to the station. I left the hostel a day early. What concerns me most is that I am blocked from writing a review on Hostelworld which is why I am writing a review here.

The hostel was in an unsafe and sketchy area, not to mention that the facilities were unclean and dodgy. The staff was unhelpful, and the value was not even close to reasonable. The hostel left an overall shady impression and I would avoid this place at all costs. Tartu is a nice city, and there were plenty of better options closer to the city centre - which I opted for and left this hostel.

I’ve stayed in this hostel few times over the years and as other have previously mentioned the location is great, place is cozy, and clean and staff has been great every time. But that’s all during high season. I want to rate this time 0/10 if possible I’ve noticed that during offseason this place turns into a homeless shelter and I really mean it. Me he sentido estafada. Horrible la experiencia. Alquile un apartamento pero cuando entramos vimos que era un hostal que era más bien un albergue. Lo primero fue la mezcla de olor a alcohol con el bullicio de los huespedes (mala ventilación) y daba asco, todo viejo y sucio. Además lo tienen decorado estilo hippie pero como si hubiesen cogido los trastos de los contenedores con ropa vieja puesta a la venta en la entrada. I found the hostel a bit expensive for what the offer. Almost 20€ for a shared bed in a large room (even there was an Ukrainian family living there). While the kitchen is small the terrace is pleasant.

Cute hostel with a homely feel. Unfortunately the little common space they have are always filled with staff who are chatting with each other so it’s awkward for guests to use. The pillow also gave me neck and shoulder pain

Good: - green and eco friendly hostel - close to the train station - clean - great staff Bad: - doesnt have eough indoor common area - the bed position is awkward: I stayed in the dorm room at the end of the hallway. In that room they put 3 beds right by the door and my bed was one of them. I couldnt sleep until very late because of the noise from the hallway and from people coming in and out.

Nice enough place. It's not super close to the center, considering how small the city is. There was a small mouse in the garden that's on the terrace, some might find that disturbing or nice. Rooms are OK, not super comfy. The lockers are quite small, I couldn't fit my 40L backpack in them.

Tout est génial, du staff à la déco en passant par les espaces communs et le petit dej. Tout ce qui est mis en place pour être plus « Green » est très appréciable. On se sent chez soi ! Merci et à bientôt 😊

Nice hostel and a lot of room in the kitchen.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Clean rooms, good atmosphere and everything was well organised. Highly recommended!

Very quiet environment. Perhaps too quiet, considering that it is a hostel in a university town. I would have expected something more lively

The hostel is decorated really nicely to give a homely feel. The staff cleans the bathroom daily with what I assumed to be homemade vinegar cleaning solution. Sadly the atmosphere wasn’t that great. Only one staff made casual conversation with me, while the rest just ignored me unless I greeted them first. The common area’s really small and is usually taken up by the staff at night, so the guests stayed in their rooms. I only used the space to read in the morning.

My favorite hostel I’ve stayed in so far in Europe!! Everything is quaint and adorable exactly what you should get out of a hostel!

best hostel in Estonia. staff and volunteers are the best! quiet and familiar vibe and the are environmental friendly, a HUGE plus! really recommend.10mins walk to city center and a few blocks from train station. the rooftop is amazing

The hostel was super chill and familial, the stuff and the created atmosphere was really special and I was feeling like home immediately. The only thing I would criticize is that it wasn’t the cleanest and the stuff could’ve done more effort make it clean (e.g. toilet paper was empty in both toilets, there was water on the floor permanently, kitchen smelled a bit off, etc). Otherwise the concept of ecological and second hand living was lovely. I would prefer this hostel over every other one.

Good hostel. Rooms were fine. Curtains are sheer so don't provide much privacy/light protection. Location is a bit far from the old town but close to other nice areas. Walkabke city anyway.

What a homely stay! The staff took the time to show me around the place. Everything was clean and organized. The balcony was so peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen was well-equipped and showers clean. I stayed in a private room and it was very comfortable. Not sure why people complain about the distance from the city. It's just 20-30 mins by foot.
