- staff unprofessional- Called me a racist for calling someone rude and a b*tch and then sent me a ban letter instead of a professional response. Kept calling me miss and infantasing me - felt extremely bullied by them.

+ Good location - close to Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, in the middle of the Rocks . But requires going up steep hills or several flights of stairs in the neighborhood to get there. The commons area is spacious, lots of outlets for laptops, nice kitchen
- Terrible set up in dorm bunkbeds. I slept 2 of 7 nights even with earplugs and being a sound sleeper. I've also stayed in lots of dorm lodgings before with little problems but this was exhausting. High turnover, most people stay one night in 4 bedroom dorm. On 4 nights people got up at 3am or 4am to catch an early flight. The bathroom is in the room, so you hear everyone who takes a late night or early morning shower. There are no rules. One night, one person got up to use the bathroom every hour . The bunk beds look private with curtains but have see through grill panels on the ends facing each other with little privacy. The top bunks are a few feet away from ceiling lights which shine directly on you. The bottom bunks also light up quite a bit when the top bunk lights get turned on. So if your bunk mate wants their personal light on at 1am, your bed is lit up too.
- The room was not ready when I arrived, even though I arrived an hour after the check-in time. I booked a female dorm, but they put me in a mixed dorm. The front staff said it was because the other guests booked incorrectly, but the other guests showed me their booking and it was clear the front staff was lying as we had both booked the right thing they just put people in the wrong rooms. The AC was broken, and they didn't tell anyone during checkin, just let us find out when we got to a sweltering room. Would not recommend.
- I booked a room with taxi from the airport. The taxi did not arrive. Booking.com acknowledged it was their fault. I followed all instructions but was not offered a refund because I did not have a receipt for the taxi I took from the airport.

- Le système informatique de réservation ne fonctionnait pas donc on a pas pu avoir de chambre et on a dû changer d’établissement après entre 30 et 45 minutes d’attente, on étaient pas content. Le personnel a été courtois avec nous.

- We paid 346 AUD a night. Calling it a Queen room was a joke. It was a very basic room, without even shampoo provided. There was no cleaning or room service. It was pointless paying extra for a harbour view as very large cruise ships came in constantly and blocked the view of the harbour and Opera House. We were moved to a quieter room, because a school group were next to us. However the doors of the rooms are very noisy, so our neighbour woke us up on two mornings coming in at 5.30 am. We also heard the traffic and a building site in the early morning. So paid a huge amount of money for very little sleep. Wished we had known that the transport system is so good, as there is no need to stay there. The Rocks area is not very interesting or a good place to eat. We would not stay there again. In many years of travelling we have never felt so badly over charged for a room. It is a shame that this is allowed.

Wow, both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in view from our window! Fabulous location, rooftop bar was a great venue to catch up with friends or to enjoy heap eats. Staff were excellent, friendly and professional. Will stay next time in Sydney Anne will recommend to friends and family.

Top notch hostel. Modern, clean, linens all included, lovely staff. On the quieter side. Not a party hostel and fewer hostel organized activities, but still social enough if you want. Really lovely rooftop bar/patio.
Very little atmosphere but in a brilliant location definitely would still recommend
I was refused check-in despite having physical ID card from the UK. I had to scramble to find a place to stay at 1am at night. I had travelled domestically from Gold Coast to Sydney. So I had not carried my passport as it's not asked in domestic flights either. The hostel manager remained adamant that he will only accept passport and no other ID card. I called central YHA helpline and they told me that they do accept physical ID cards from other countries. But the manager still refused entry.
An incredible place, truly close to everything, right in the heart of The Rocks, with a stunning view of the Opera House. The rooftop bar is amazing, and there was live music on both Friday and Saturday.

Nice place, close to everything, clean, quiet, safe, I would highly recommend for a stay close to the cbd and in the rocks! it is perfect you can walk to everything !
Top Hostel!☺️ Perfekte Lage mit großer Dachterrasse und Blick aufs Opernhaus.😍 Zudem ein schöner großer Aufenthaltsraum mit Küche. Sehr hell und freundlich vom Gebäude her. Sehr hilfsbereites und nettes Personal. Zimmer sind sehr sauber, es ist ein Vorhang am Bett.☺️ Alle Altersklassen, daher ruhige angenehme Atmosphäre. Perfekte Lage in 'The Rocks', die schönste Gegend. Nur 10 Minuten von Wynyard Station und Circular Quay. Leicht zu Fuß (ebenerdig/ohne Hügel) von 'Wynyard/Ex...
Perfect Location with a large roof terrace and a view on the Opera House. Also a nice large living room with kitchen. Very nice and friendly from the building. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are very clean, it is a curtain on the bed.☺️ All Alterklassen, therefore quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Perfect Location in 'The Rocks', the most beautiful area. Only 10 minutes from Wynyard Station and Circular Quay. Easy to walk (ebenerdig/ohne Hügel) from 'Wynyard/Exit York Street'.
Really really good hostel - the rooms are great and so clean, beds are comfy and location is amazing! I wish it was a little more sociable but if you like quiet and relaxing hostels, this one is perfect.
