- The lady is scammer. She scammed me! I booked a room at the hotel, but when I arrived, she put me in an appointment. She washed a kilogram of my clothes and charged me 20$, she did not mention tha price before she washed them.
Wir hatten ein extrem gutes Angebot gefunden gehabt auf Hostelworld. Uns kam der Preis für El Chalten zu niedrig vor, deswegen sind wir extra zur Unterkunft gelaufen. Die Frau am Empfang meinte, dass Hostelworld manchmal andere Preise hat und wir direkt über Hostelworld buchen sollen. Als wir vom Huemul (4tägige Wanderung ohne Empfang) zurückkamen, wollte sie einen weitaus höheren Preis. Für einen Kompromiss oder ein Entgegenkommen waren Sie nicht bereit.
We had found an extremely good offer on Hostelworld. The price for El Chalten seemed too low to us, so we ran extra to the accommodation. The woman at the reception said that Hostelworld sometimes has different Prices and we should book directly through Hostelworld. When we returned from Huemul (4-day Wander without reception), she wanted a much higher price. You were not ready for a compromise or a compromise.
It’s actually not a hostel but a shed, no atmosphere, overpriced accommodation as everywhere in El Chalten and staff that is not able to speak a single word of English. The kitchen is stuffed really bad, only one pot is actually useable. The card machine at the reception didn’t work for many days (on purpose?) so travelers had to go to the local bank to get money with huge extra costs. All in all, we as travelers have to call out those hostels in El Chalten. Many are just a scam
We stayed in the private room which was in a different location. They were 6 private rooms in containers with a small kitchen and two bathrooms. Facilities were poor but thankfully only two rooms were occupied.
You need to pay for everything. If you accidentally put some of your stuff on someone else's bed, you need to pay the bed (the price of the night). If you pack your bag after 22h, 1000 pesos. When you check out, you can leave your bags but you cannot stay in the hostel, and if you want to use the bathroom you have to pay 1000 pesos. There's no lockers for your bags and the kitchen is ok.
We had the following problems: 1) the room was in a separate building a 10 minute walk from the main premises. They dropped us off in a car but on check out initially asked us to drop the keys off ourselves. (They eventually came to get the key themselves but not without complaining at us first) 2) when we had the room cleaned (one day out of three we could have) they didn't replace the towels but asked us to go get them from the main building. They also complained about us wanting the room clea...
Not a good hostel. Especially not for the price!!
Would be a perfect place had the dorms be half of the price. Good location and friendly staff. However, now it’s terribly overpriced. Dorms are cramped and the 6 bed dorm accommodates 7 people. If you book a bit in advance I’m sure you can find a hostel with a better price quality ratio.

I had a really good stay here. I really don’t understand all of the negative reviews. It was clean and the people were nice. I had a really good deal for a private room and they upgraded me to even have a private bathroom which was really nice. They have floor heating in that room which is especially nice after a long day of hiking!

+ Anfangs waren wir bei der Bezahlung (Aufschlag bei Kartenzahlung) etwas irritiert und verunsichert. Das hat sich aber dann schnell gelegt und am Ende hat alles gut geklappt. Die Dame an der Rezeption ist sehr nett und gibt Auskünfte zu Wanderungen, etc. Dir Unterkunft ist extrem sauber (ständig putzt jemand irgendwo) und die Lage ist gut. Die Zimmer haben alles was man braucht. Wir würden wiederkommen.

+ Good location between different trailheads, and next to a fantastic cafe (Lo De Haydee) with great breakfast and delicious sandwiches to bring for hiking lunches. Very clean, lovely staff, and nice cooking facilities.
- The beds were quite hard. Most days we were too tired to care, but overall not the best sleep. The bedroom floors are heated, which would be great in winter, but it was completely unnecessary for the weather when we were there. The room was far too hot, so we left the window open all the time which helped quite a bit.
+ Хорошее место в Чалтене, у нас был отдельный номер с ванной комнатой, нам было комфортно вполне, есть кухня, тоже готовили там, удобно. Чисто! Рядом много разных кафе и магазинов.
- Все было хорошо, приветливые девушки, помогали информацией
