Whistler Fireside Lodge

Did not like how the bedroom door was never closed and couldn’t lock it so kids who weren’t even staying in the room would just walk through it, didn’t feel private. Upstairs bathroom doesn’t lock. Staff weren’t friendly. Most people there lived there so felt weird. Was a very big place though and well equipped kitchen

- Security: if someone left the games room door unlocked (by accident or not) then it would be easy for someone else to get into the hostel and potentially steal property. Would be better if they made that door open with a key card only. - Staff: Randy was great and very accommodating! - For about $175 /night for a private room you'd expect to at least have a private washroom.

Good value. Hygiene was acceptable, facilities were good. However, the property has a narrow check in window, is in an inconvenient location, and had an off-putting vibe in the common room.

Amazing Kitchen, with absolutely anything you need to cook a meal. Lots of Condiments were provided too. The Dorm was quiet, and very spread out so felt like you had your own space. Not a very social hostel, but still some capacity for connection. Great bike storage (bring your own bike lock) Would stay again and recommend to any one wanting a quiet self sufficient stay. 🌲

pro: super awesome kitchen, pool and table tennis tables, sauna, staff really friendly, remote if you like it. cons: have to make my own bed, 16 instead of 14 dorm, not very social, felt a bit understaffed (fo 10 stars I would at least expect free shower gel/shampoo and somewhat of an breakfast since its so far off)

Nice and clean hostel, the dormroom is very big with a lot of people and theair conditioning was on all the timeeven though it was very cold outside. Nice kitchen and common area

Prima plek om een of een paar nachten te verblijven. Fijne faciliteiten om zelf te kunnen koken!

Pros: Clean and tidy, pool/tennis table, multiple bathrooms, large kitchen and sitting area Cons: Its a bit far from village (20m walk) but thats why its cheaper, beds are positionsd so weirdly that the upper bunks linen was in my face at night. There must be a cover between two beds.

I felt very safe and secure during my stay at fireside lodge. The kitchen had everything you could need from casserole dishes to a smoothie machine. The only thing that I could see as a negative is the distance to town. But there was the valley trail and a bus service. So overall very happy with my stay.

Would prefer more security on some rooms (i.e additional door lock). I stayed in a single room with another guest. No issues otherwise. Would stay again!

Super chill and relaxing hostel. Staff were super friendly and down to Earth. Convenient location and had a short walk to the bus stop.

Great quite little hostel randys a top G. was worried about the location but there is lots of buses or a nice stroll into town

We felt very comfortable in our room and the whole house. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and so spacious that multiple people can easily cook at the same time. Also the common area is huge and inviting. Staff was very nice. We would go there again.

Such a peaceful and quaint lodge, I was not expecting much for the price paid, but the space was very well maintained, the atmosphere felt very safe and lively, and the location (off from the main highway) made for the most tranquil mornings.

An exceptional place to stay! Welcoming, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Kitchen facilities were fabulous and Randy (host) was so helpful and friendly. A wonderful overnight stop.

Randy was great the accomodation was incredible. We will be back for sure!

Our first hostel experience in Canada, and it was fabulous. We had a private room. Great facilities, amazing kitchen, comfortable lounge. The pool table, table tennis and sauna were a bonus. Also good to chat with some of the members who were staying at the same time. I would certainly recommend this place.
