Host canceled our reservation at the last minute because it was for less than 3 days ("the minimum stay requirement"). This policy isn't written anywhere on the reservation or description of the hostel. We made the reservation one full month before the date we would stay and they emailed two days prior to our trip to say we could no longer stay at the hostel. Finding a place to stay in NYC two days before your trip is ridiculously expensive ($200-$400 on the low end). Don't trust this hostel!

This is NOT A HOSTEL brutal experience treated like a criminal when I arrived by a Chinese lady and the Nextdoor neighbor it’s just a HOUSE don’t stay here

The property was easy to find, the instructions to get in were easy to follow and it was clean. However, the location is very far out and takes a long time to travel to most attractions.

If you’re reading this review and still wondering whether you should book this place, I genuinely need to tell you this with complete honesty: don’t overthink it. This was one of the best stays I’ve ever had in my life. Yes, not is Manhattan but have public transportation, and for me it was worth every single minute. It was a really good Stay. A very cosy Hostel. Feels like home.Miss Jones helped us also a lot with our luggage! Located a bit outside, but perfect to get fast with an Uber to JFK.

Everything was great, clean, safe, and affordable. They make you feel at home with all the amenities. I will be returning when I travel again to this area. I highly recommend this place as a solo traveler that has been coming to the area for some time. It is a little bit to get to the city, but I didn't mind the commute. Very thankful for the experience!

A little far but overall everything was fantastic

Our stay at the Kingdom cove was relaxing and delightful. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We could even cook! Mr Jones is a friendly and gentle soul. During our stay, New York had some unexpected heavy weather and flooding and Mr Jones personally drove us to another location and sorted things out for us - we were very grateful. Ginah (the co-host) is also lovely to talk to and gives some great tips for where to go sightseeing seeing in New York. We recommend the Kingdom Cove

The hosts were very accommodating and the stay was clean with the right amount of amenities to have a comfortable stay. For the price this place is a great and comfortable way to see the city and you can get to the city in a reasonable amount (more or less an hour) of time by one bus and train. In a city where much is price centered and not person centered—this stay felt homey and patron oriented. Thanks!

I ended up visiting NYC on a super busy weekend and was glad to find this hostel in Jamaica. It was cool to see a part of NYC I haven't seen in a while and the food around here was amazing! Mr. Jones, the owner, was extremely accommodating to my early arrival and clear with directions on getting in. Ginah kept the place looking good and was great to converse with. Pros: Great price, very helpful staff (Mr Jones & Ginah), clean, full kitchen + laundry. Cons: Near airport (plane noise), LOUD AC on timer needs constant resetting, far from everything - 1.5hrs each way by public transport to anywhere in the city. Guest room very gray/dark. Despite the distance being a major issue and other drawbacks, I got what I paid for. If you're budget-conscious and don't mind the commute, it's decent value. Just know what you're getting into!

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. The hostess who welcomed us was very nice and kind. Also a very clean place and nothing to complain. The place is pretty close to JFK which is also very good. However, we needed to take a bus to get to a Subway to go to Manhattan. This took in total one hour every day. Nevertheless, great value for money.

A great place to stay for couple nights if visiting New-York. Not far from the JFK, very clean, big room and bed, very cozy. Totally recommend

Had a wonderful stay at the Kingdom Cove. Very clean and very quiet. The bathroom was very clean and nice! Bishop Jones was very nice and accommodating! I highly recommend, this place is an absolute gem!! Easy check in process and wonderful staff.

The best host i have ever had!! Truly this was a very pleasant experience. The host was very proactive and helped us out on multiple occasions! The communication was 5 star!! Truly! Would book 10 times over again, truly one of my best travel experiences with Kingdom Cove!

The place was really nice and neat good location in queens and we were kindly given a room upgrade when we wanted to check in early. The lady that attended us was really nice and the check in process was fast and simple. Next time i visit new york I’ll definitely have to book another few nights here
