Wonbin Safari Hostel Jaisalmer

They list varieties of Private room on Hostelworld app which they don't have & the listing itself is confusing. I booked a room with a balcony but they refused first by saying they don't have balcony rooms. when I found out about rooms with a balcony then they said your booking is for a normal room. No point in arguing. This is more of a family type hotel rather than a hostel. there were no hostel vibes at all. If you are looking for hostel for fun, don't book this at all.

Photos are misleading for this property. The dorm rooms have very limited lighting and very bad setup for beds. Some dorm beds don't even have proper curtains around them completely for basic privacy. The fan regulator wasn't working in our room, the washroom also didn't have necessary and basic amenities.

Rooms were extremely dirty and clear they wait until you show up to barely clean it, there were crickets in the room. Rolling black outs (to be expected I assume) made getting up in the morning difficult. The suite we booked was in the basement, where the window was broken and people walked by all the time. We weren’t given a key to the room, and made us pay in cash then had then asked us if we paid when we left (as if they weren’t tracking and hoped we would pay them again).

Room was actually alright but we felt like we got scammed for the desert tour. As soon as we arrived we were pestered to book a tour with them and eventually we did because they made it sound pretty good and said they had other guests going on the more expensive one so we chose that. Obviously when we went to go there were no other guests and the camp wasn’t as far or secluded as they said. Pretty sure it was the cheaper camp. Other tours in area are cheaper and include more don’t book here.

Don't do the desert tour solo. Tour guides won't give you a blanket unless you cuddle with them at night! Because of the season I was the only one in the hostel

Room was not cleaned (ants and sand everywhere), staff was very unfriendly and not helpful.

I got the bottom bunk bed and had no privacy curtains, the pillows were sooo bad they was barely any white visible. When we ordered food and gave them review saying it doesn’t taste good, the guy says we cook like this only, it’s your problem you don’t like the food. And idk why they are soooo obsessed with taking you to safari. The only good thing about this place was they provided pick up from railway station.

Got this hostel recommended by a hostel manager. Hostel is good, but pricey. The people are so helpful, but I feel the staff is taking commissions for everything they sell seeing how high the prices are. Their most expensive safari was one of the best experiences I had in my life, but when I heard how much the guide receives from that amount I felt that they are taking too big a commission for quite little work. Overall, facilities are good and the rooftop cafe is very nice.

Great hostel, the nicest staff and the best prices! Definitely recommend. They also organised an amazing desert safari for me, which was a fraction of the price of other options

stayed here recently at wonbin and had wonderful experience with staff actually taking care for me and actually had a great time

Was a pleasure to stay at Wonbin Hostel and also do their desert safari! Ali and Sotak were great kind hosts, cooking and cleaning and making sure we were happy always. We went to the ancient Khuldera village, had desert cooked food under a tree, went on the camel for a nice ride to our camping spot in the dunes! Enjoyed sunset, chai, and a campfire with songs and more food. Thoroughly enjoyed, I do recommend!

Very nice hostel and good value for money!

It was an amazing stay here. I loved the room especially the price that was in budget. I would really prefer this property to everyone coming to Jaisalmer. Desert Safari was such a great experience especially the Kalbelia dance and the hospitality shown by the hostel.

Great stay at Wonbin for super affordable price. Good food and great camel guides eli and ali would definitely recommend the safari. The owner Talab is super hospitable and made us feel so welcome - he even organised for my joggers to be sent next day to Udaipur after I left them in the hostel 🤗🫶 Thank you Wonbin :)))

Arrived here and was surprised at how nice the amenities were despite the low price. After checking in I decided to book myself onto the overnight desert safari through the hostel which was great fun. Otherwise the WiFi, beds and rooftop cafe are great! Definitely suggest this hostel which is 5mins away from fort and no city noise for relax evening. Superb rooftop with fort view, best panaromic view. They also organise safaris and the staff is really nice and answers to the request and maintain complete cleanliness of the stay.
