There’s no AC so not why they say there is. Ally it the reviews are from bit accounts because his place is not good at all. No privacy curtains, I hot locked out at 3 am and they blamed me for it even though it says 24/7 reception and the receptionist was asleep on the balcony. If it was rated lower or was cheaper all these could be excusable but for a 9 star hostel it was insane. There was also roaches in the bathrooms and one crawled on me when I showered.
Honnestly very disappointed for one night. The room just next to the reception, you have also all the nose from the street and of other rooms. Regarding property, does not very look like the pictures. I think you can find better place in Tanger.
hostel location was convenient- close to the ferry and the medina. I booked the female only dorm, which was nice- although the room doesn't actually lock! and although they have a small security locker for passport, money, etc. there is no locker for your bags and larger belongings. Hostel was pretty small so this wasn't too much of a concern. The free breakfast was very nice, and after my return ferry was cancelled do to weather they found a way to let me stay an extra night
The hostel is fine,workers are nice and breakfast is good although the first impression wasn't great. I told them my arrival time and as it was hard to find I called them and messaged them a couple of times to ask for help with no answer. Finally, a scammer that was nearby appeared offering for help, brought me to the same place I was initially and asked for money.I couldn't get rid of him so I had to give him some money although I'm sure if someone had answered this could have been avoided.
Stayed in a private room with shared bathroom. Overall ok, just not nearly as nice facilities-wise as our other stays in Morocco around the same price point ($50-$70 / night for 2 ppl). Was nice to connect with other visitors and hostel staff over breakfast.

leuke vrijwilligers die er werkten en een zeer gezellige sfeer! het ontbijt was uitgebreid en aangenaam, eigenlijk het aangenaamste ontbijt dat we in Marokko hebben gehad gedurende een reis van 2 weken en 6 verblijven in totaal. er liepen wel enkele insecten in de slaapkamer, maar dit zijn we in zowat ieder verblijf tegen gekomen in Marokko. Er was geen raam (naar buiten) in onze kamer, enkel 2 ramen naar de gang en een andere hostelkamer. De schuifdeur van onze kamer maakte ook nogal geluid.
The breakfast was extensive and pleasant, in fact the most pleasant breakfast we have had in Morocco during a 2 week trip and 6 stays in total. there were some insects running around in the bedroom, but this is what we have come across in almost every stay in Morocco. there was no window (to the outside) in our room, only 2 windows to the hallway and another hostel room. the sliding door of our room also made quite a noise.
My husband and I liked the location, we made friends with Anas who was super receptive and attentive to us. The only “problem” was we made the reservation for 4 beds mixed dorm, and were placed in separate rooms. I stayed in the female dormitory and my husband in 6 beds mixed dorm. I tried to find the reserve to show that it was wrong, but the tiredness spoke louder and in the end we accepted. Apart from that, all very good! We will come back for sure.
Sweet hostel. Very very small but rooms were nice- double bedroom was great. 4 bed dorm had no lockers, just a rack but felt like a safe hostel with trustworthy people around so it was ok. Very friendly guests and staff, relaxed atmosphere. The volunteers stay in the dorms so are very friendly. Breakfast was pancakes bread fruit, olives/salad, tea and coffee. Communal area is outside on the rooftop, gets very chilly in winter. Good location in medina and easy to get to by taxi from airport.

My stay at Dar Gara was wonderful—all of the staff are extremely friendly and kind. All of the facilities were clean and the common areas are well put-together. Breakfast was also great.

Great place to stay. Super helpful and kind staff as well as very nice residents.
We were welcomed very nicely and felt very comfortable immediately. A big plus is the beautiful interior and the rooftop terraces. The amount of bathrooms works out surprisingly well, we loved the green bathroom especially. Breakfast was very delicious and abundant and the vibe was very chill and nice. It’s a bit hard to find but we managed it. A great experience and especially very cheap option with a high value.

Very nice people, there were some volunteers who did amazing work. Breakfast was amazing too, kitchen could be used. Nice rooftop and sitting areas, even with rain 🤩 only bad thing was that there wasn’t a lock on the room and it was hard to find at night in the medina, I got lost which was scary…

Great place, well-located and very kind staff
I was so sad to only stay at Dar Gara one night. The beds are very comfortable, and extra blankets were provided. Breakfast was delicious and there are also private showers. A great choice!

Me ha encantado! Las terrazas son muy bonitas y el personal muy amable. Está muy cerca a una de las puertas de la muralla así que es muy fácil no perderse dentro de la medina
I loved it! the terraces are very nice and the staff very friendly. it is very close to one of the gates of the wall so it is very easy not to get lost inside the medina

clean, staff were friendly, about as safe and secure as what you could hope for in Morocco, but there was basically no atmosphere while I was there. otherwise a pretty good place overall.
