Given a bed with no locker for my belongings, no curtain on my bed & my plug on my bed didn’t work. Everyone else in my room had curtains, a backpack locker and a working plug. Ridiculous that we payed the same amount of money. Asked at reception for a room swap as well as someone to come look at the plug and they weren’t helpful at all. Wouldn’t recommend.
you wanted to charge me extra to breath air frankly!! the hostel was terrible it smelt. the kitchen was dirty. charging to hold luggage after check out is diabolical. overall poor experience
Paid a lot more than most hostels, but unfortunately had no hot water for the entire stay :(
We stayed in a private twin room and it was so hot and tiny that we had to check out early and move down the road
I got to my 4 bed down and it was extremely small and claustrophobic, so I asked if I could upgrade myself to a private room which I did. This was still only just big enough for a bed but a much better option. The rooms were cozy with the radiator, but I do think overpriced for what it is. The Haka House in Tekapo is streets ahead!

The beds were gut (with curtain, light and plunger). bathroom was in Ordnung. no nice area to chill and no laundry facilities. location was in Ordnung
No hot water for three days so had to have cold showers which was not OK. People should have been warned prior to arriving (as it hadn’t been working for a few days) so we could have looked into changing accommodation. Also the room we was given was right by the stairs and the noise was horrendous. I can generally sleep through most noise in a hostel however the sound of everyone going up and down the stairs was crazy. Location was good, and hostel room was clean. Would not stay again.
Good location and helpful staff. Room was very small so that door couldnt fully open with beds, and got very hot
Die Atmosphäre war schrecklich. Jeder hat nur für sich gewohnt und gegessen. Ausstattung war gut und sauber.
The atmosphere was terrible, everyone lived and ate for themselves, the equipment was good and clean.
Not the biggest fan of Haka houses, feels really antisocial and not homey at all. Great for someone looking for more of a hotel vibe.

Je ne pense pas que nous aurions pu trouver mieu ! Cependant il manquait peut-être cette chaleur humaine, mais avis totalement personnel.
I don't think we could have found one! however perhaps it lacked that human warmth, but totally personal opinions.

Amazing kitchen facilities - two large kitchens, very clean. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly too. Not very sociable but a great place to stay whilst being in Christchurch
Staff helpful, great location close to the city. Kitchen small but big communal area.
This glorious old and stylish building has obviously seen better days. However, my room was secure, bed very comfortable and great value.

Top location, clean rooms. The only thing that was annoying, you could hear the doors smashing from everywhere..
you cant really go wrong with haka house but kitchen is a bit small and doen't really have a social vibe

Daleko do dworca kolejowego,brak autobusu, taxi 35 NZD, brak rzetelnej info nformacji ze strony Hostelu. Skasowano informację turystyczną w mieście. Kupno dalszych biletów tylko w necie.
Far from the college station, bus stop, taxi 35 NZD, reliable info from the Hostel website. tourist information in town. further tickets only available in the city.

Great few days stay, well located between the city and botanical gardens
laundry room is a bit lacking
A very clean and well located hostel. The dorms are quite small, and it's not the most social hostel.
I appreciate the ease of Haka House being all over NZ! I found the facilities to be not as clean as I would expect. This included the beds that were “made”. If you have to wonder if your bed has clean sheets, it’s probably not a good sign. It felt as though this Haka house is just used more than they can keep up the cleaning for.
