Maayong Hostel

Man broke into the dormitory, so unsafe, no locks on the door or gate. Scariest hostel experience ever. A man who wasn’t staying at the hostel came into dorm at 2am and got into a girls bed. We woke up to her screaming and chasing him out. Got cctv footage which shows him coming into the dormitory twice within space of 10 minutes. Called the police. Staff were lovely and gave us refunds but I really hope they do something about security because it was so unsafe.

Nice Hostel, altough a bit pricey. Very modern and has a nice common area. Lockers are way too small tho, you can't fit anything in there..

Great location hostel with great availability for activities. But do not go to oslob and do the whale sharks one of the most unethical things I have seen. The lack of a pool make the heat difficult to deal with during the day. Furthermore with the air conditioning getting turned off at 9am and only back on at 5pm you can’t really have any time to chill. The beach is not far away and neither is a large selection of food and options if things to do

Lovely hostel. Bear in mind it’s catered more towards couples but it’s easy to meet people through the canyoneering activity. Food is good and well priced. Accepts any form of ID as a deposit which was a great help for me to retain my limited cash.

Great location, the staff are super helpful and the interiors are lush. However, the beds are wrapped in plastic beneath the sheet which makes for a super uncomfortable and sweaty nights sleep!

A really lovely hostel to stay in with such friendly staff who were so welcoming. The staff kept the accommodation very clean, there is food also available, drinking water too but the water isn’t very cold but that’s fine. Very good location to food and drink locations, outside area was so lovely to chill in. Air con in the room is off from 9am-5pm, I would say bring a blanket as you get a sheet for sleeping and it can get cold in the night. I had a really good experience and I would stay ag...

I really liked to stay in this hostel! The location is good, the hostel itself is very clean and the staff very friendly! However not a lot of social events are planned here.

Very quiet hostel....very loud rooms! The staff here were very nice but I had a day that I wasn't feeling well and they hung out in the dorm room most of the day talking and cleaning and watching videos on their phones which was super inconsiderate. Very little going on at this hostel.....has the makings to be an awesome hang out spot but just lacks personality. Beds were a bit uncomfortable but that's normal....bathrooms were clean and showers were pretty decent!

Really clean and quiet so very good to relax near the beach. Staff okay, food was better and cheaper in town, AC turned off at 8am every day which wasn’t good for us. Check the amount they charge you as they tried to double charge us

Nice clean hostel in a great location in Moalboal. Helpful and friendly staff, the owner in particular was very useful explaining ferries etc. Very quiet with not much going on in the evenings, good if you fancy chilling!

C'était très agréable de séjourner dans cet hostel, il est très bien placé, l'équipe sur place est très sympa et nous aide beaucoup. Il faisait juste hyper froid dans le dortoir donc je suis tombée malade mais bon si on s'habille ça le fait 😅

Wunderschönes Hostel mit toller Lage. Hostel ist sehr neu und super sauber. Personal wahnsinnig hilfsbereit. In meinen Augen eine 10/10!

Staff were super lovely and helpful, provided free umbrellas etc. Nice outdoor seating space with good breakfast and food options. Room felt spacious even with 12 people. Everything was clean and had lights and chargers. Would defo stay again

The hostel is very niceee the location is also good walking distance to the shops and resto. The place is clean and has a lounge area u can enjoy. The staff are very nice and accommodating. U get more of what u paid for!! Really recommend staying here when u visit moalboal

everything is great, super clean, comfy beds with big lockers, perfect location, nice common area with hammocks, not that social though

Really great place! A little more quite which we loved! Great beds and facilities. Great and helpful staff. Perfect location and super short walk from everything (5-10 min) Not a solo travel place but great for families and friends looking for something a little more quiet. Any day again

Very nice hostel in a good location for moalboal. Wasn’t very social and showers wasn’t great but still clean and friendly. Was worth the money :)

Lovely staff, amazing atmosphere. Everything is kept very clean. Women led hostel. Great location. Too many things to mention. Had a very pleasant stay here. Note: They organise activities with the locals from their end, saves a lot of hassle and time.

The Maayong hostel is probably one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The design of that place was cosy and chill. Everything was absolutely clean and the beds are very comfortable. The biggest plus for me was the staff. Everybody there was extremely welcoming and they alway helped us with everything we needed and beyond. Also every food I’ve had there was really tasty and for a pretty good price.

The room itself was really nice as was the hostel - social areas very quiet as it’s only a small town and the off season but reasonably priced beers and thankfully we were travelling as a 3 so weren’t lonely although I would imagine solo travelers might be. The air con in the room is FReeeeezing so if you suffer with that pack a jumper. We had some pretty inconsiderate room mates during our time but not the fault of the hostel - the staff were all lovely and it was very clean.

This hostel was just perfect. Location was great, the place was beautiful, and the staff was AMAZING and super helpful! They helped me organized everything even before my arrival, which made my stay in Moalboal stress-free!

Really nice hostel! Really good room and facilities! Great location, staff are so friendly and helpful. Felt so at home at this hostel I could’ve stayed for a lot longer! Only downside was the shower pressure is terrible.
