Cultural erasure and disrespect at the hands of private equity. This hostel is just an international mega-chain operating in a bubble. They tried to sell me a ticket to a King’s Day celebration. Seriously? The Dutch ravaged Indonesia with a campaign of extreme exploitation and systematic violence, which the Dutch king has now apologized for. Why are you celebrating this, and not any of the Indonesian or Balinese festivals? I wanted a party hostel, and that’s what I got. No complaints there...

Not great and overpriced, rooms and shower were dirty. Seems to be a very dated finished, not updated for 20 plus years, needs renovation.

So unsafe and no privacy in female dorms…men are coming and going frequently! So i had to book the private room for a night and it’s overpriced and not clean with ants and a lizard with no phone or tv and very old decorations.

Staff are incompetent and will ignore you, worst hostel I have ever stayed in.

Mad Monkey Uluwatu is definitely a party hostel and not for everyone. The location is good, but the biggest downside is the noise — music goes on till around 11:00–11:30 PM, which makes it quite difficult if you’re looking to rest or sleep early. The rooms are very tiny, there are no proper changing curtains, and overall comfort is limited. I left my bags in the storage room while i got lunch i came back to find my umbrella missing, which i had just bought had been taken by a member of staff, so now i'm without my umbrella, staff were rude, honestly terrible customer service, this is the first one star i've ever given which speaks volumes.

Be careful all of you, 2 days ago I came here and I made a post suddenly in the chat of the wife of the bar manager, namely Agoes and I was called "GATEL" to he's wife, Very annoying, I came just to be a customer!!!!

Terrible. Party 24/7, dirty af. A lot of 19 yo drinking and partying, a lot of noise the floor in the room is dirty and almost no space for your stuff. Proper duvets though. The towel was smelly. Just one toilet in room, no other toilets or showers. Always occupied. The facilities were good tho. Sauna, cold plunge, jacuzzi and small fitness area. Small pool. I checked out before sleep because of the dirtiness. Happy I didn’t book more than one night. Stay away unless you’re 19 yo party Monke...

Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Most of the international staff was relatively friendly, but encouraged cliques, impacting the solo traveler experience for sure. Definitely a party hostel, but most of the organized parties were incredibly expensive for unexciting events, and you were essentially bullied into signing up for things like boat trips that were disorganized and SO boring unless you were absolutely HAMMERED. I would have given a much higher rating BUT I HAVE BLOCKED YOU GUYS FOUR TIMES...

Most expensive hostel i’ve been to here in Bali, but so not worth it… The staff is very pushy about signing for the activities. Also some are very unfriendly and rude. The toilet and shower I had were dirty and always flooded. Pool area is okay, nothing special compared to other hostels (they were a lot cheaper and had better pools). Also they are very strict about when the pool closes. Next time i’d rather go to a hostel that is maybe not in the center but it will definitely give me a bet...

Staff is cool and food excellent

Wir hatten eine coole Zeit. Das Dorm war sauber, der Chillbereich sehr cool und abends die Stimmung in der Bar auch.

Zimmer waren super. Es ist immer was los und man kann am Pool oder in der Bar immer Leute kennenlernen. Zum Feiern und chillen ein super Hostel.
